Polar Datalink

Great product & works great. I highly recommand this unit. Easy plug and play. The information is priceless. Don't hesitate to purchase.

Usually communicates with my RCX3; software does a sufficient job for a layman's understanding. On line analysis and tools help track progress, although they may be better suited to a more advanced user. Nevertheless, it is very helpful to track routes, overall milage, effort (HR, pace) and time. Comparing identical routes also gives some encouragement - as you can see progress as you increase your performance.

Really helpful, yet not the product I expected. I own a polar rcx3, and bought the datalink to upload my trainings to the web, but the uploading speed is really slow, and the conection between the personal computer and the datalink gets lost very often, also it calims to have a 3 meter range capacity but it's not true I have to place the personal computer on top of the datalink otherwise it's imposible not to lose the conection. On the other hand, using polar personal trainer with the data link is very satisfying, graphs from training zones and training load are improved with the device and you can really feel a high relationship between your body and what the computer is measuring... To sum up, it's nice but not what I expected from polar...

After downloading the application from Polar, I was able to link up all of my workout data. It takes less than a minute to download 10 workouts. The Polarpersonaltrainer.com application does a good job a cataloging your workouts with lots of details. The heart rate monitor, datalink and the polarpersonaltrainer.com application create a great way to track workouts and progress.

I like immediate feedback, but I like the chance to analyze feedback better. The datalink, though a bit pricey, gives you access to the polar website and its tools for analysis. I'm not a runner, and I don't bike as much as I used to, but I have been going to the gym to push iron around for a few years now. Though it's not cardio work as it's often conceived of, lifting weights involves the cardiovascular, and I like knowing whether I am pushing to the limits and getting cardio benefits. I wish Polar would support lifting weights better, but that's a bit much to ask from a HR monitor. For what I need, the datalink satisfies. I particularly like the training load function, so I can see visually whether I need to back off, or whether I'm where I want to be to keep getting healthier.

If you have a CS 500 then you may need this. There is data that is readily available in the Polar CS 500 that can be better visualized when you pair it with this data link. For instance, there's a comparison chart between HRT, elevation and MPH, this can be helpful if you want to squeeze the most out of the training session. The interface is intuitive and very organized. The 4 stars rating is due to connection hassle. The range is a joke, you can have the data link a few inches apart and rarely will connect on the first try. The transfer speed is very slow but once is uploaded, you can disconnect the CS 500 and keep looking at the charts thru the Polar Web application. I bought this data link and to be honest, I am not impressed with the provided information, because the CS 500 already provide the same information minus the graphics. But it is surely a great training aid for those who wants to squeeze the very last drop of training sweat.

Easy to use and sync fast with my watch. Must have this in order to view your training profile. Nice.

Das Teil funktioniert mit meiner RCX3 tadellos. Hatt früher eine S625X die mit dem alten USB Stick von Polar Daten übertragen konnte. Dabei musste die Uhr immer genau am Stick liegen und das ganze war trotzdem problematisch. Das ist hier vollkommen anders. Die Verbindung wird auch hergestellt wenn die Uhr nur in der Nähe des DataLink liegt und nicht direkt daran.

Fa il suo lavoro egregiamente. L'unica nota negativa è che è indispensabile per dialogare con il PC e tracciare il proprio allenamento e che quindi ANDAVA FORNITO CON L'UNITA' POLAR, senza costringere il povero acquirente a fare due acquisti con relativo maggiore esborso economico. Una politica commerciale infelice che nel tempo penalizzerà polar.

Great little dongle for transferring data from Polar RCX5 to Polar Personal Trainer, but recent upgrade of latter does not work as well as previous version!
