My camera is being installed soon - if I buy this battery do I have to run another cable up to the camera?

No, no add'l cables are run to the camera. The hardwire kit wires are just connected to the ivolt instead of to your fuse box.

does this battery consume vehicle's battery while the vehicle is off?

No. It will use what charge it gained when your car was on. If it’s through the 12v it’ll take I think an hour and change, but if it’s connected through the fuse it will fully charge in 30-40 mins. Once the car shuts off your camera runs off this battery, and not your car battery (even if it’s plugged into the 12v). Except maybe if your 12v has constant power.
