GXP 2160 VOIP Deskset
Very pleased with this budget phone, Call quality and workable 722 compression is a noticeable step above the Yealink T28P it was replacing. Color screen is cute and easier to read than monochrome. The 24 programmable keys for BLF are bright and easy to see. Speaker phone is excellent. The ability to use line 6 as bluetooth connected audio device for my cell phone has possiblities. The feature works as advertised by the audio quality is lacking maybe no worse than the cell phone its connected to however. Likely to be a better speaker phone.

Great Phone, I love it! So many features
This phone is awesome! I decided to go off on a limb one day and built a phone system using FreePBX for my office. I looked around at phones for a while, took a look at Cisco because they're so common in other offices, and even took a look at some Android desk phones. For the price I couldn't find anything that had so much value as the Grandstream. The color screen is nice, (though the view angle could be a bit better), and there are a lot of buttons you can program etc. It has an adjustable stand, and it also wall-mountable! Probably what I love most is that this phone has Bluetooth. I can hook up my little Plantronics headset up and pace around the office and get things done while I'm on the phone. Since I bought this phone, I also bought one of the lower models that has a smaller screen and less buttons, but it works great as well!

Great phone for SOHO and small enterprise!
As a VOIP (voice over IP ) guy, I've used & installed hundreds of phones. The Grandstream GXP series are among my favorite, due to the ease of setup, generally good audio and build quality, as well as the price point for the features included. Let's begin with a few of the "plusses" for this phone. First, it's got up to 6 line capability, out of the box. AND a massive amount of control points, which can be configured individually as speed dial, BLF, specific functions - like direct transfer, etc), and the functionality is tremendous as a result. you can configure BLFs (an LED lights on it to let you know if your associate or colleague is on their phone, so you can harrass them when they get on or off), you can add a zillion speed-dials, and generally, you can do most anything you want with it, just shy of hiring help... The audio is generally crisp and clear - on par or better than many phones at 2x's the price point. The huge color display has several page options (you can get stock reports, localized weather, you can insert your own .jpg backgrounds, etc), so it looks great on a corporate desk.. The setup is pretty intuitive, and I can generally have one up and running out of the box within 60-90 seconds, assuming I know the credentials and have a computer handy (don't try to configure this phone without a computer on the same network - you'll spend forever!).. The web GUI for configuration is pretty straightforward, and rather similar to all the GXP series. The phone also sports dual gigabit ethernet jacks - so you can loop thru it to your PC, and you won't face a major performance hit! rather nice. That said, here's what I don't like about it. 1. my BIGGEST gripe is the headset jack. I've gone thru DOZENS of headsets, and have yet to find a single headphone which works with this device. I'm unsure if it was intentional, but it appears that either the gain structure is way off, or they've wired the RJ9 in a non-normal configuration. The GUI offers a switch for "Plantronics" headsets, but that doesn't help either. In fact, the only way I've ever gotten a headset to work was to plug it in the handset jack. This of course produces other erratic results, but the headset DOES actually work in that jack. IF you need a headset (wired headset), I'd skip this phone, for that very reason. (I'll update this if I ever get better results on this).... 2. the phone book. Face it, unless you played an extra in Office Space, you really should not be using a phonebook directory on a single-use device like this. you should have your computer programed to dial your number for you, or you should be having them punched in as speed dials. The phonebook is ludicrous, and made even more so by the fact that Grandstream wastes several buttons for it. 3. the button layout.. there are three "hot buttons" - the handset, headset, and speakerphone. But they're NOT layed out together.. kinda dumb. minor annoyance, but let's just say, dumb.... 4 the handset cable spot. Another trivial but poorly engineered idea. Of course if nobody complains about it, Grandstream will never make it better.. but basically, they route the cable from under the phone, so it's quite often getting stuck under the edge and as a result, is causing the phone to tilt... pretty annoying, especially as something that could've been prevented..... All-in-all, it's not a bad phone.. and for the price (<$100), it's one helluva good deal!

Works perfectly with Asterisk / FreePBX
I run FreePBX in the cloud and have multiple phone number I use. In order to dial out from one of those numbers, I had to dial 9, 8, or some other combination of digits. I decided on the Grandstream GS-GXP2160 because it offers 6 SIP connections, the color display, and some various customization. Once I received the package, I was up and running in minutes. You can configure the phone via the telephone's keypad or via web interface. I opted for the web interface. I set up all 4 of my extensions and say they went green. Calling out was no problem, but I ran into my first hiccup. I couldn't receive calls. I opened up RTP ports 10001-20000 and SIP ports 5060-5061 to the phone. Now I was able to dial out, but from only one extension. I found that each account was assigned every other next available SIP port. Account 1 had 5060, account 2 had 5062, account 3 had 5064, and so on. I extended the range of forwarded SIP ports from 5060-5061 to 5060-5070 and that solved it. I continued setting up the phone and changed the time zone, set some wallpaper, and configured the weather. Getting the weather configured was a bit tricky. You need to look up your self defined city code. To find this you need to head to The Weather Channel and search for your City, State. It cannot be done by zip code. When you load the weather page for your City, State, in the URL there will be a code. For Redlands, CA it is USCA0923. Copy that code and paste it in the phone's configuration and it will instantly update the weather information. To view the forecast, push the first button on the home row left of missed calls. I poked around the other settings to see if there's anything else I needed to configure or customize, but didn't see anything that I needed to change so I called it good. Last night I did get hit with another gotcha. The phone kept ringing and it was from an extension which doesn't exist on my system. Some have called these ghost calls. What is happening is it is a hacker scanning your network and seeing if they can take advantage of any vulnerabilities on your system. I did some reading and found the solution is to enable Check Accept Incoming SIP from Proxy Only under Accounts > Account # > SIP Settings > Security Settings. I also enabled Check SIP User ID for Incoming INVITE. Another solution would to be to use non-standard SIP ports. But after making that change, I haven't received another Ghost Call.

Great Office Phone
I love the speed dial keys and the multi-line conferencing. The speakerphone on this unit is really good too - even better than the GXP1400's (which I also thought was really good). The 1400's speakerphone doesn't have as much low-frequency response as this units. Voices sound very full. I have used Bluetooth on this unit, and it works as expected. The only thing I wish that this phone had was a way to sync Google contacts. Even if it was not automatic, and supported by Grandstream, it would be OK with me. I know there is a web service out there that can do the sync, but I don't feel all that comfortable giving a "free" service access to all of my business contacts in Google!

Great... briefly.
I am a very heavy phone user (about 20 lbs overweight but I'm on the phone a lot) and this phone is great. Sound quality is very good and it's super simple to program (if you know what you should know if you're programming a SIP phone) And then they die. We've purchased hundreds of these and are now replacing them for clients at an alarming rate. Grandstream support is useless.

Best VOIP phone on the market
The features and quality of this color VOIP phone make it the best value on the market. This phone has bluetooth, high-definition codec support, and many built-in features you would only expect on phones that cost 2-3 times as much. The color screen is easy to customize the logo and our clients love them. I also recommend using with the Grandstream UCM IP PBX series.

I like the color display and the weather report (although this ...
I have been using this phone in my home office since Sept 2014. Overall I would say it is an OK phone. I like the color display and the weather report (although this seems to work sporadically). The incoming and outgoing voice quality seems to be good (until I compared with second phone, more on this later). It was a little difficult to setup so I a Grandsteam tech had to take over my computer remotely and change a bunch of settings in the phone itself and my new netgear modem, so that was a bit frustrating but it worked out in the end. Some other issues: I receive tons of SIP attack calls. They come in waves, I may not get any for a week and then I may get 20 call in the span of 5 minutes, or like yesterday I would get 1 call about every 10 minutes--all day. I have been able to "fix" this on days I am being attacked by forwarding calls to my cell phone. The SIP calls do not forward so only real incoming calls will forward. My VoIP provider said the calls are not showing up on the system so there is nothing they can do. About a year ago I added a Polycom VVX300 to my network and have never received a SIP attack call. So it is a Grandsteam issue that has yet to be fixed. While I originally thought the voice quality was good, I was mistaken once I added the Polycom. The Polycom is hands down better. My clients can distinguish which phone I am using because of the sound quality, and it's very noticeable for me as well. Overall this is a nice phone with some cool features: color screen, weather, etc., however, it lacks in the basic functions such as call quality and cant keep up with the lower priced Polycom VVX300.

Great call quality
Solid construction. Great call quality, especially using g722. Gigabit ethernet is a big plus for piggy-backing a PC. The UI is relatively intuitive. People who've never used a VoIP phone have no trouble with the basics. For the price, this is a feature-packed phone that works very well.

Excelente

Works well and looks good.
A well made, and good looking phone. PoE works fine with my Ubiquiti PoE switch. A few glitches with some of the inbuilt programs - weather doesn't work, though it appears there is a fix imminent. Sound quality is good, hands free mode works well, and the build quality is very good.
