Great brushes!
Awesome brush set. As good if not better than the Citadel set. Cheaper, better, what else can ya ask for? Handles ate good size, bristles stand up pretty good. Good assortment as well. Highly recommended. When this set goes down I'll order another one.

8 years later and still going strong!
Bought these brushes in 2014 and use them regularly. I have always been mindful to take care of them when using them and they have lasted me 8 years now. Great value for the money. I've bought other brush sets since then just to test some other options and I still come back to these every time. Highly recommend. When I eventually retire the ones I bought in 2014, I will be buying another set!

Im not certain its true sable, but they are solid brushes for intermediate to beginners
As my headline stated, I am not sure the is actually sable. It is certainly not Kolinsky Sable, but it doesn't say that, so if it is sable is probably red sable. This is a solid compromise on quality and price. I picked these up mainly because I was curious as the price seemed solid even for synthetic medium quality. I have several Winsor newton series 7 brushes that I decided to compare these to. I must say they really held their own! Like all brushes, you have to take care of them. Most of the complaints I see in the reviews are probably user error, so I have outlined below how to not destroy your brushes, and this is a solid set to prove that even cheap brushes can perform for years. -Protect your ferrule. Don't get paint past the belly. These brushes are DRY out of the box, Wash them and then shape the tips and let them dry before using. - Wash regularly but don't over wash. Look it up if you cant tell. Washing should be quick and gentle. - Don't soak your brushes. Like ever. If I am soaking a brush it is a dead one that I'm not really worried about. Soaking messes with the wood in the ferrule which makes it lose shape or worse. I have brushes I use with technical paints that I soak in acetone because they are dead anyway. which brings up: - Don't use textured or metallic paints in brushes you used for detail - Until you understand how the brushes wick paint, don't use technicals, glazes washes contrast or what have you. The more liquidy the paint, the more it will want to get into the ferrule and ruin your brush. - Never use the Textured Techincal paints with a brush you ever want to use again. I'm talking to all you GW fans. That agrellen earth will make that brush crack more than the earth under Mork and Gorks feet! With proper care and use these brushes could last ages. Dry brushes are all right. I prefer GWs dry brushes but they are considerably more expensive. I think all of the standard brushes in here perform on par with Army Painter Sable Brushes. I can get the same results with these as my WN Series 7s. The only thing the Series 7s beat these on is the feel of quality and the ferrule seems stronger? maybe tighter? But not to the point of concern. All in all a solid buy for anyone in the mini painting hobby and I would 100% suggest these to anyone looking to get into or continuing the hobby without breaking the bank.

but my god do these brushes suck. The hairs are constantly coming out of place
These brushes were all nearly labeled on the brush and color coordinated and packaged really well, but my god do these brushes suck. The hairs are constantly coming out of place, they hardly hold any shape at all. If I made more time to test them out on my models I would of returned these brushes almost immediately.

Terrible brushes - Avoid at all costs
I paint miniatures and these brushes didn't even survive their first use. Do yourself a favor and spend the money on higher quality brushes. What I spent on these I could have purchased a higher quality Kolinsky #2. If I could give the product no stars I would.
