I purchased the Amazon Basics Multi-Purpose Adjustable Portable Tripod Stand for tethering my camera to a tablet during photoshoots, and it’s been a game changer! The stand is lightweight and easy to transport, making it perfect for taking along to different locations. It’s sturdy enough to hold my tablet securely, even when I occasionally move it for clients to view live shots. The adjustable height, ranging from 36 to 55 inches, is a great feature that provides versatility for different setups. The stand feels well-built and stable, offering a combination of portability, ease of use, and reliability that’s hard to beat. I debated whether to get one with wheels but decided against it—and this stand still works perfectly for my needs. If you’re a photographer in search of a practical and dependable tethering solution, this stand is a fantastic choice!

First off, this reasonably priced stand will be perfect for many applications, especially if you need to put a piece of equipment ‘up high’ (up to 55”high!!) The large diameter tubular tripod legs and center column help keep it very stable, and the wing fasteners are nice and big – once you’ve cranked them down, there shouldn’t be slippage anywhere. This stand also folds fairly compact and isn’t too heavy, IMHOP. If you really need to save space, you can simply separate the components – it’s pretty easy to put back together. Unfortunately, there’s two things that prevent me from giving this stand a full five star rating. The main “con” for me is that there’s a raised, felted lip around the edge of the platform to keep your item from slipping off. Great idea, but the lip has a 9 & ¾” gap at the front of the platform – if you have any item that’s narrower than this, and you need to tilt the front of the platform down at a sharp angle, then the item could conceivably slide through the gap. At first I thought I had installed the platform backward, and simply needed to turn it around to put the non-gapped lip in front. You can do this, but then you can’t adjust the tilt very much. It appears to be designed so that large gap must face the front. Kinda weird given the tilt capability. I quickly found something to span the gap (a thick ruler), and this solved the issue. I’ll come up with something better later… The other minor “con” is that, as others have stated, even at its lowest height, the platform is still about 36” high. Really wished it could go lower to make it handier to use when seated, but it is what it is. So, a very nice stand considering the price, just not quite as versatile as it could have been. 😊

I was wary about ordering this because the product page wasn't clear about the dimensions of the laptop stand itself... and I have a larger (15.63" x 10.24") laptop with a 17.3" screen. I was not disappointed & my fears were squelched. First, the base of this laptop stand is about 17x15 inches, so it will fit most laptops (even those with a 17.3" screen size like mine) while leaving a little space around the edges. In addition, it only comes with three separate parts and took me a whopping 3 minutes to assemble by myself. The stand is incredibly sturdy and it's easy to adjust: • Turn the middle knob to adjust the height • The top knob to adjust/tilt the stand • Or the bottom knob to extend/extract the legs. *By the way, it will be the right height for you even if you're really tall or very short. Overall, this is an amazing product that is exactly what I needed and fits my laptop perfectly. It's exactly what I was hoping for, and I'd rate it an easy 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.

Strong and steady

My intended use for this stand is holding video projectors, so the main concern was stability. I have found it to be very stable. The base can be adjusted, and at full extension is plenty wide for the height. The height adjustment covers a nice range. The handles are large and easily gripped for changing position, then lock down tight to prevent slippage. The lip around the sides and back of the platform are tall enough to keep items from sliding off without being intrusive. I have no worries when putting my projectors on this stand that it will wobble or tip over. If it were going to be set up where it might be bumped or the cord snagged, I would probably put a bungie cord around the projector and stand to hold it securely. The box it arrived in looked like it had been through it. I took pictures in case I had to file a claim for damage or missing parts. The parts were undamaged and all present. It took some effort to align the top to the neck and get the bolt holding them together installed, but it went in and tightened up fine. That effort is necessary because the tight fit means the stand doesn't wobble at all. Very solid. I'm please with my purchase and trust it will serve me well for a long time.

My reason for this purchase is I play in a band and we do a good amount of weddings. A lot of the time, we also do the music for the reception (intros, dances, DJ breaks, etc). Since I handle a lot of that I needed a stand that could be placed anywhere and I could put my laptop on it out of the way but ready to go. For years I was just using a music stand but they are not the sturdiest and I always had nightmares of the thing falling over or the laptop sliding off during the Bride and Grooms first dance or something. This might be one of the best "Amazon Basics" finds I've ever purchased. A few of my friends have similar stands and paid way more than this. This stand is SUPER sturdy and has some weight to it. The connections are solid and the base can get pretty wide so it's VERY sturdy. Getting the top on was just the slightest bit confusing in terms of which way it goes but nothing but a few minutes to figure out. Honestly for holding a laptop or pretty much anything as you can even make it a flat "table", I'll be using this often. If you're looking for a laptop stand like this, don't hesitate and get this one, you won't be sorry!!

Bought this as a portable lecture for classroom missing stand at front of room. Not sure what I was expecting, but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Very good quality and sturdy. Not to heavy, so easy to walk with in one hand. Used in on first lecture recently, and it performed like a champ. Did not have any concerns with the stability of the device holding my laptop. It is a solid product, and for the price, a great value.

This thing inspires confidence that the item you're holding up will not fall... but the little rim that lies at the bottom of the stand - the one you'd typically rest the bottom of your notes / ipad etc on, has a HUGE GAP! Someone else pointed this out as well, with a picture. I get that it's there to allow for cables etc, but did you guys have to make the gap SO wide? I find myself thinking of a gizmo I can jerry-rig to close the hole.. if anyone has figured out an easy way I'm all ears! Otherwise a great stand!
