works well , I use it for fermentation and just wrap around fermentation vessel . I believe it to be a good value for the money , you get the heat mat and the controller for the price that most want just for the controller . I saw some other review that said it was not a thermostat but Just a monitor. I found this not to be true , it does have a thermostat and comes off and on like you would expect a thermostat to work . The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the thermostat does seem to lean to the high side on accuracy , but not terrible and stays within the parameters I require

This product is great! The reason I give 4 stars because it stop getting to temp at about 3 month of use. Otherwise this product will continuously give you results until the pad fails. Edited: it was the thermostat that stopped working not the pad. I had switched thermostat to another one I had bought and everything seems to be working fine.

I have used non-regulated heating mats successfully for several years now and was hesitant to spend the extra $$$ on a regulated system. My studies of gardening books convinced me that there are optimal temps for certain plants so when my last mat stopped working, I decided to go for this unit. I think the biggest benefit has been that I know my seedlings are getting the right temperature and I don't have to water them as often since I'm not using an "always on" mat that dries out the growing media. I can also place them in my sunniest - and draftiest - window knowing they will stay warn at night but not overheat during the day. A good investment!

i thought it was defective when i first got it. even sent it back for a new one. it wasn't reaching the temperature i wanted, but i finally troubleshooted it and now it's working great. i was using this mat under my roach enclosure, and the substrate was so thick it absorbed most of the heat, leaving the atmospheric temp cooler. instead of this, i slid it under the aquarium short ways and used velcro to attach the excess to the back side. it quickly started increasing after that. despite my previous struggles, this is a pretty good product.

Is a little difficult at first to use since there are no instructions. However after hitting buttons to change it from C to F and realizing you can’t adjust the temp I was content with it. It raises the temp enough that the seeds will germinate and I am satisfied with the product.

So, for some reason it waited around 3 hours to perform well. I bought it to warm a 8x30x20 space to keep my mycelium cozy at 78 degrees. The nights are cold these days so I'll only be using it at night. It's a gentle warmth. I don't understand why it took three hours for it to start working though. I was nearly ready to return it on the same day I got it. It stayed at 71.3 for the longest time and I was pretty worried. Finally, within a time span of 10 min, it warmed up to 78. Having it set at 78, the thermostat turns it off like at 78.1, and turns it back on like at 78.5 which is just fine. It has both farenheit and celcius which is useful. I hope it continues to work as well as it is rightnow. I'll update if there's any change

My setup was a "sandwich" consisting of 2" foam building insulation, next the heating mat, next a large aluminum baking sheet on which were placed a variety of disposable plastic seed containers saved from last year. Initially I set the controller for 75 deg F but discovered, with a high quality instant read thermometer (not available from Amazon) that the actual temp near the sensor bulb was 79 deg F. Adjusted to controller to 70 deg F which resulted in an actual temp of 75. Would include a photo of my setup however Amazon has replaced that ability with "Recommended for You in Kindle Books". Not pleased with Amazon for that cute little marketing trick ! Won't encourage me to buy any of their books.

Bought this to make a homemade proofing box for sourdough as our home is on the cool side in winter. Works very well to keep the temperature in the box stable. Very happy with this heat mat and temperature controller.

I am using it for warmth proofing sourdough bread. Also will use it for wheatgrass starter trays. Wish I bought it long ago.

I ordered 2 of these and use one inside and the other in a covered, raised garden planter. It had done an amazing job at regulating heat of my seedlings, even when the nighttime temperatures dropped to -2C. Unfortunately the one I used inside did not reach or maintain adequate temperatures and I had to return it. I was issued a refund with no problem though. Based on the performance of the outside seed mat I would buy another and recommend it to others. My seedlings seem to love it!

i use this heat mat for a 30 gallon terrarium, it does an amazing job! After hooking it up, it took a couple of days for the soil to reach temperature, and has been held quite steady ever since. I am actually quite surprised that the heat mat can handle such a large area so efficiently, as there is a good 8 inches of substrate in the terrarium. I will be recommending this heat mat to anyone looking for one as the price is amazing, and the performance is also amazing! Happy with my purchase.

I was happy to get this mat with thermostat. I used to put the seeds on top of modern, but because of small space, it took me too long time to sprout all kinds of the seeds that I needed. With this mat, perfect size, I am able to have different kinds of seeds sprout at the same time. With the thermostat, the seeds like chili peppers, luffa, eggplants, I set up at 28-30C, it only took 3 days to sprout. I am able to set up the exactly temperature to meet the requirements of different seeds. Very easy to use it. Really worth to have thermostat to make my gardening easier and earlier.
