If you have Snakes or other reptiles that need under-tank heat, this is the way to go. Adjustable heat is great, although, these pads may not get quite as hot as some other name-brands. Great value for the price. Personally I have a strong dislike for pads with an adhesive - the adhesive never holds up well over time and is more of an inconvenience than a benefit. These pads will work great with snake racks. I use it for our Hedgehog & ball pythons. 5 Star product!

Easily heats up the floor for my boas. I like the fact of the dial so the Matt will Never go full blast and cook your pet! The dial is NOT A THERMOSTAT. You need to place the thermocouple of the thermostat on the floor with tape or something so it reads the floor temperature! You NEED TO PAIR WITH THERMOSTAT any time you heat a reptile terrarium you have to have a thermostat failing to do so is animal abuse and may result in death or a burnt down house!!

I got these for my Dermestid Beetle setup. I taped them to the glass on the inside and put a heat lamp above. Before, I had the heat lamp in the tank, with the lid propped open a little, and an oil space heater in the room. The take was staying between 65-80 degrees (F) through a PNW winter. It's starting to warm up, and I needed to make sure the lid could shut so flies didn't get in, and these created the perfect setup. With the new setup, the tank is easily staying at 80 degrees and the nights are still dropping below freezing. As it warms up, I plan to turn off the heat lamp and rely on these completely. The controller is a knob that rotates clockwise for warmer settings. I hope they last. They seem totally worth the money.

Worked well but make sure you have thermostat to help with not overheating

I use these under the tanks of 2 of my leopard geckos. I plugged it in and tested it with my hand at different points on the temperature knob. Be careful - this thing gets hot! You don’t want to burn your pets! At the halfway point this thing was way too hot so I know it would be too hot for my geckos. I found that turning the temp knob only a quarter of the way on was a safe, warm temp. Make sure you test this before using. I also placed a protective heat mat under these to protect my furniture (even though I don’t turn it on full but just as a precaution). I recommend only if you’re careful

These heat mats are FANTASTIC!!! I love the fact that there is NO STICKY BOTTOM because I can reuse it on multiple habitats if need be... We use HVAC aluminum tape to adhere it to the bottom of the snake's enclosures... It gets HOT... The ONLY thing I would suggest to improve the product is that if the temperature control dial had markings so you would know how far from the "off" position you are that would really help... The control dial is VERY easy to move, so having it bumped could set the pad off temp.. It would be super nice if it "clicked" between settings so you could have some idea as to where it is "set" at.. Other than that, it is PERFECT!! I highly recommend the product!

These mats malfunctioned, melted and almost set my apartment on fire. Had we not been home to smell and see the toxic smoke, our new ball python would have died. Learn from my mistake. Spend the money to buy good legitimate heating mats. It costs us big time because the aquarium shattered, and we had to run out late at night to buy a new one.

Okay but be careful, they will burn out if you cover them. Better to get the kind with the separate thermocouple and digital thermostat for a few dollars more.
