Single Line Classic 2554 Wall Phone with Loud Ringer and Handset Volume Control, Black - Wall Mount Jack Required

I love♥️the phone and so far it is working 😊great. I bought it to cover up the large plate they use to use for the old landline wall phones. I am very happy with my purchase. I am now ready for any ⛈storms⛈ this summer that knocks out our electricity. I will have my reliable landline phone to use if needed♥️👍☺️😊😎❗️

Great wall phone, just wish it would ring a little louder. The phone is in the garage, need a loud ring, but great phone otherwise.

While unit appears undamaged, package was in poor condition. Plugged the phone in and all I got was crackling. Attach any other phone to my line and they work. I did manage to dial out one time, but was unable to hang up without disconnecting. Not sure if I can return this, as I changed the plug in an attempt to get it functioning. Thirty six bucks (plus shipping) down the drain. I gave it one star for looking like a telephone.

Cute phone with decent quality. I bought it for a phone jack that my husband insisted on installing by the "throne". We tried and tried to get it on the wall by the throne but had problems. The reason we had problems with it is because of the way the phone jack is made on this phone. With our old phone, and indeed, with all other phones I've seen that go on the wall, there is a cord that you plug into the wall and then you wrap as much as the cord that you can around the bottom of the phone where it's supposed to go. You can then slide the phone onto the mounting brackets on the wall jack. This phone is not made that way. It has the plug sticking out of the phone instead of on a cord that you can feel click into the jack. The part that sticks out of the phone that is supposed to plug straight into the wall moves up and down along the phone. It would be MUCH more handy if it moved in or out but it doesn't. It moves up or down the phone to give you play in case your jack isn't in the normal place, I guess. The problem is that you cannot shove the phone in enough to hear or feel it click into place. My husband was the one that tried to install it first and he said he couldn't do it. When it comes to something like this, I have more patience and perseverance than him so I tried it on the only other phone jack we have in our house. It would be handy if there was somewhere you could stick your finger in through the phone to securely snap it into place. I worked and worked and finally got it to plug in and stay plugged in while I slid it onto the mounting screws. I never did hear it snap into place. I guess I also should mention that we have the correct type of jacks for this phone. They have a little mounting base with the 2 mounts that stick out for a phone to slide down onto. The part that you stick the phone plug into is not recessed into the wall. That was not the reason we couldn't get it to work in our bathroom. I guess I was just lucky to get it in the right position on the kitchen jack. It does work, though. The ring is cute as is the phone. I just wish it had a little bit of play to plug into the wall.

As another poster mentioned, it is a bit of a pill to install. Add to that, the voice quality is about one rung up from two cans tied to a string. It's pretty awful. Tinny, hard to hear, seems to pick up background noises and amplify them. It has an echo. Reminds me of an old Buck Rogers serial - in outer space, trying to contact Mars. Pretty poor for the price.

This phone does exactly what I bought it for, hangs on the wall out of the way until I need it. It's a rugged phone with no frills. It has a good loud bell and 12 buttons to call out, including STAR and POUND key (it's not a "hash tag" its the POUND KEY!). It will work during a power outage, unlike our mobile handsets, and I don't have to learn how to program it, or how to recall the last 10 callers or add my most popular numbers to the directory. ITS A BASIC PHONE! If you can count from zero to nine you are fully qualified to use this phone. When the Zombie apocalypse comes and the undead destroy all the cell phone towers - I will still be able to call Dominoes to get a pizza.

I had a hard time finding a wall hanging phone. The phone is good. I one thing I don't like about it what there isn't a ringer control. The ringer is very loud. The first time it rang it surprised me (yes I jumped). Out side of tha it work well

Am a former Bell System, AT&T Installer. This product is very close to the original 2554 Analog wall phone, manufactured by Western Electric. While It has no ringer volume control, it does have a true "bell ringer" and is loud enough for a the average room, or non-noisy workshop environment. It has a 3 position hearing volume control in the handle, and requires a standard WALLPHONE mounting jack/plate, as pictured. It is well packaged and works as described right out of the box. This is an absolutely no-frills, touch tone wall phone, but good overall value. I have installed several of these models in commercial environments, and will continue ordering/using.
