No. We have had ours for a few years now and it is still in like new condition. No rust

we had one before from a mall and the balls were tangled so we couldn't use it does this one have the balls where they don't tangle ?

The one I ordered through Amazon was packaged very carefully with each ball and string wrapped in plastic. The strings were not tangled. The unit has not tangled; the balls are heavy weight and seem to be good quality. I am sorry that you had that experience. I enjoy the cradle so much; it is intriguing.
