Can the hand crank be attached to a hamster wheel so that it may be charged by rodents?

If you could cobble together a 40:1 or so gear reduction or pully system it would probably be possible to make this hamster powered. It would take a full night of steady running to partially charge it though.

I charged a new out of the box radio for 8 hours with USB. The radio played for 19:45 at 1/4 volume. Loud enough to clearly understand a weather forecast in a quiet room. But not loud enough to dance to music.

Yes,It will hold a charge. Wether you crank it. Set it in a window, or plug it in a wall. I use this on backpacking trips. I usually wall charge it before I leave. It really doesn't draw a lot of power fast from the sun. However you can crank it a few times and the flashlight runs for a long time.
