Great Product
These alarms are amazing and useful, but currently have a major issue. They use 209 shotgun primers as the noise maker, but due to the WTF situation since 2019, these primers are almost impossible to purchase anywhere. If you buy these alarms, you will not be able to use them until the 209 primer shortage is resolved (if it ever is). I strongly encourage the makers to develop an alternative firing pin portion, that will edge strike a 22 caliber power loads (blanks). Power loads are 22 caliber rimfire blanks that are used in a fastener tool. They come in 6 different strengths and are readily available (at this time) in hardware stores. The 22 blanks fit in the muzzle brake hole, but the firing pin does not strike the edge, where it is needed. The units that I received were green aluminum, not black steel. The firing pin, split ring, safety pins and eye bolt were all black. The muzzle brake portion was not flat, but had 4 projections. Use kevlar line for the trip wire, strong with little stretch.

Works well
I read reviews of other similar products, i was more or less prepared to modify the firing pin. I loaded a primer,, pulled the string, and it went bang, just like it should do. I will open the trigger clevis a bit so it does not take as much force to fire. All in all well made and performs well. A bit more expensive than some others, but then it does work

Well Made
Just received two of these. Both appear to be really well made with quality machining. Pull rings were a little obnoxious to get on, but needle-nose pliers and a bit of cussing took care of it. Small quibble: the trip-wire pin and eye bolt are not blacked out as shown in the listing. I couldn't care less about the safety pin being shiny, but those other two are going to be on the device while it's in use. Spray paint it is, then. For those griping about 209 primers not being available, that's not FITH OPS' problem. Reloading supplies like primers have been incredibly hard to get since COVID hit. Don't 1-star them for that.

Worked great to scare away black bear!
Works great! Scared away a 500# black bear real quick. Easy setup, quick reloading and setup. Mine came with silver eyelets and clups, but not a big deal...makes fjnding them whenbdropped easier. I used 90# kevlar trip cord/braided foshing line and bought a few more eyelets to make multiple point runs. Worked great! To other reviews: works every time, if you want a hair trigger just insert the clips tip, quality yes!

Actual size is similar to chapstick. Loud pop like a starter pistol
Bought online without seeing it. Works great. The caps are just the primer portion of a shotgun shell, also used in manual load muskets. I bought them caps from Cabela's/BassPro. There's no gunpowder involved. For my use as a trip wire, the main portion is fastened, and staked to the ground, only the pull pin is tied to a fishing line. It makes a loud pop, and scares the crooks. gratifying. When the pin is dragged off and lost, it is easy to replace with an ordinary wire.

Great product and super loud with CCI 209 shotgun primers
This thing is bad ass.... All you need are some 209 shotgun primers! CCI ones work fine and are super loud. Rang my ears for a while when I was testing it in the garage. I can't was to tell my kids not to do something and set this thing up for when they do exactly the opposite :) Big 5 sells the primers for cheap, 100 primers in a pack for 7 bucks.

Handy and easy to use
Unit is quite small and compact. Good machine work. It is made out of aluminum and not steel, however, so a magnetic mount is not feasible. Uses 209 shot shell primers, which are not currently easy to find.

It (usually) works
The first time I set this up I put a shotshell primer inside after securing the body to a wall and putting in the 2 pins (safety and trigger). Tied a line to the trigger, then removed the safety. Pulled the trigger but the cap didn't go off. The firing pin was sitting on a live primer. Only thing to do was pull the firing pin back to to reset it. As soon as the pin moved the primer went off. In my hand. Very loud. No damage to my hand. The neighbors 500 feet away heard me swear at it. Louder than the damn cap going off (muffled, I'm sure by my hand wrapped around the body). Put another cap in, worked this time. I haven't used it since, not sure if I wan't to.

Works perfect.
Primer caps are loud if you've never heard them before. Anyone who reloads has lots of them. It works great. If you set them on a trail you know if animals pass through and will wake you up in the middle of the night quickly to grab your gun. Great thing works perfect. Scares most big animals.

Well built, and very loud!
Ordered 4 of these ASR Tripwire Perimiter Alarms (took 18 days to recieve in Quebec Canada, although someone in the supply chain didn't update the shipping status, so it was stuck in "Carrier picked up the package" forever... even a week after having received them). When I opened the package, I discovered the following: a) These seem really well built (looks really solid). Pleasantly surprised. b) Were much smaller than I thought (see image provided with real dimensions). I was expecting (for some reason), something around 6" tall. But they are actually no longer than 10 cm (3.94") high. But that could also be a good thing (easier to carry and conceil when deployed). So far, I tried them twice, and they are really, really loud! I bought the Federal Shotshell Primers (209A), and they fit well and fired with no issue. In Canada (QC), I purchased them for about $0.08 per ($6.99 + tax, for a pack of 100). So the price is great (I guess), innexpensive to use. It left a huge black stain on my (white) 2x4 board I screwed it into, so I'm guessing the flame/heat is great (do not hold this in your hand or near you, as they warn). It would be really bad. The only complaint I have is their Amazon product images contradict themselves as to where the Safety pin and Trigger pin really go. One image shows the Safety pin in the top hole, and the other in the bottom hole. Their instructions (see image provided) seem to indicate the Safety pin goes in the lower hole. I have used them by putting the Safety pin in the upper hole (seems easier to pull, but I'll experiment). With time, we'll see if and how these hold up to being used (I'll try to give an update in a year or so). The only two recommendations I would make to ASR are: a) Add one (or more) safety/trigger pins (just in case). Would cost them pennies to do so. b) They sell these in 1, 2, and 4 units, but have another Amazon product where you can buy 12 of them. Don't know why they did it like that. They should have simply added an option to buy 6, 8, 10 and 12 (with significant bulk discounts). But anyway, I do recommend these to anyone (so far). I also bought (from another site), two FITH-ops 12 Guage Permimeter Trip Alarm ... can't wait to receive those also and try them.
