Give it a try!
Works great, had so much fun with this project. The installation was easy especially for someone who’s never done anything like this before. For reference I used a lexar sd that I also purchased off of Amazon. Music sounds great and doesn’t skip, super happy about the storage space. I would recommend :)

This drive brought the joy back.
I had retired my ipod classic when the drive corrupted after many happy years of music. It sat in a drawer for several years, but then I found this replacement drive and decided to try to replace the drive and the battery. As I usually do, I search through youtube and found a lot of help. I love the high storage capacity because I rip my music from cds in the lossless format.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Solid Upgrade – Be Mindful of the microSD Card You Use
I installed the iFlash Solo as part of a mod project on my iPod Video 5.5 Gen 30GB, and overall it’s been a great upgrade. I did the install myself using a few YouTube videos—fairly straightforward if you’re comfortable opening up your iPod. One thing to note for anyone considering this mod: not all microSD cards are created equal. I initially used a SanDisk 256GB microSDXC card I had lying around. It was a yellow Nintendo branded card. While it technically worked, I ran into a lot of issues—most notably, the iPod would freeze up when loading new songs. It was incredibly frustrating, and I thought the iFlash board might be faulty. Eventually, I decided to try a different microSD card and went with a Sony microSDXC card instead. Night and day difference! The iPod now runs smoothly, syncs quickly, and handles large music libraries without a hitch. No freezes or glitches since switching cards. If you're planning to use the iFlash Solo, I highly recommend looking into which cards work well. It makes all the difference in performance and stability. Great product overall—just make sure your storage choice matches the quality of the adapter!

The best contraption made for obsolete music players
This is the best thing ever invented when it comes to obsolete technology. It replaces the bulky-chungus hard disk drives (which was amazing long ago being small with such capacity, but all was moved onto SSDs and NVMe) with only an SD Card. It's easy to replace the drive with this, but you may need a way to format the card to Fat32 to make it work. After formatting, reatore the drive lile what you do on a normal iPod and there you have it. I tried it with a 1TB Samsung Pro Evo card and it works fantastic. I experimented this to an iPod Classic 5.5th gen I bought off of eBay because of DankPods and I was blown away. Now, I've turned my smartphone into more of a paperweight.

Great and easy upgrade to iPod 5th Gen 5.5 Video (Classic)
This will greatly increase your storage, speed, and reliability of your iPod 5th Gen 5.5 Video (Classic). Note: You need to also purchase a single SD card (or micro with a SD adapter). Also make sure you you check the compatibility chart at the Iflash website, as some cheaper SD cards don't work. I used a PNY 512GB Elite-X Class 10 U3 V30 SDXC Flash Memory Card and it worked great. The upgrade is very easy, just watch some youtube videos a used a guitar pick. Make sure to pay most attention to how to release each ribbon cable as that is the hardest part of the process. I also got a new front face as mine was all scratched, a new battery (old battery expanded and broke my screen), a new screen, while I had it disassembled. With this upgrade you can fit a much larger battery as there is no longer a bulky disk drive. When you are complete and power it up you will have to connect to Itunes and do a factor reset to reload iTunes, so you will lose everything that's on the iPod so ensure there is nothing you need on the iPod before you begin. Once the Itunes updated you will now have tons of storage to reload as much music as you want. I upgraded from 60GB to 512GB!

Revived my iPod Classic!
I got an iPod Classic from my cousin who got it for free from his work. After a few short days of listening to my own music on it, the hard drive crashed and the entire iPod was completely inoperable because of it. That's when I decided I'd not only fix my iPod, but also upgrade it by expanding its storage from the original 80GB to 128GB. The process wasn't easy at first; Apple made sure their iPods were sealed tight, so I had some trouble opening mine at first. Once I did though, replacing the hard drive was as simple as removing it and plugging this in its place. I inserted a compatible SD card, formatted the iPod through iTunes, and it's good as new now! I've been using this in my daily driver iPod for months now and it still works perfectly. It's a lot lighter which is nice. The battery does indeed last longer since it doesn't use nearly as much power to access the SD card as it does to spin up the hard drive. Very happy with this replacement and I'll definitely be purchasing another one when my other iPod Classic hard drive fails too.
