Great little sound bar!
Ok, first things first - if you are expecting a home cinema system kind of sound, this is NOT for you! I had to get that off my chest first as I've read so many reviews from people who seem to be expecting miracles! It's a small sound bar and it's 50w output - by comparison, my old 5.1 surround sound system was 600w! And that was nowhere near as powerful as you could get! Right, now that's all out of the way, I can review it properly. I bought this to go with a 40" skinny Blaupunkt TV in my bedroom. As with all skinny TVs, the inbuilt speakers were rubbish. I haven't checked, but they are probably between 5-10w output. This is fairly standard for most TVs these days. The truth is, the TV manufacturers EXPECT you to add on a sound bar/home cinema system, so they don't really care too much what speakers are built in. That's just a fact these days, sad, but true. On my other bedroom TV (23"), I had a 10w computer sound bar and that did the job great! But for this TV, I wanted a bit more 'oomph' so we could watch movies and get a more immersive experience. I read lots of reviews and checked the specs and decided to give this one a go, and I'm not remotely disappointed! I can't stress enough, keep in mind it is a SMALL sound bar! You aren't going to get earth shattering sound that shakes the walls! But for what it's meant to be, it does a brilliant job! My TV doesn't have an optical socket, so I just connected it via the headphone jack which works fine. I set the sound bar volume quite high, then use the TV remote to control the volume that comes out of it which works really well. You do need to turn the sound bar on with its own remote control, it doesn't automatically come on with the TV (not with mine anyway) but this is no issue for me. I have to do the same on my downstairs sound bar which is a different brand and is connected via optical cable, so I'm used to it. But anyway, the sound from it is great! Even at low volumes, it really is a vast improvement on the built in speakers, and at louder volumes it's perfect for movies when you want a bit more BOOM!! I have it stood behind the TV (I don't like them in front, just my personal preference) and it still sounds fab! I genuinely couldn't be happier with it! In a larger room, you would probably want something a bit more beefy if you like stuff REALLY loud, our downstairs sound bar is 80w with a separate subwoofer, but for smaller rooms and bedrooms, this is spot on! Like I said, don't expect miracles! If you want a great improvement on the general sound of your TV, go for it! If you want to feel like you're in the cinema, buy something bigger and more powerful! This does the job it's supposed to do at a great price. Five stars from me!

compact 2 channel speaker. Poor bass but ok for the price.
This speaker is not 2.1, it does not have a bass speaker and even carries a note on the top of it letting you know to switch the output of your device to 2 Channel PCM if you hear a message or buzzing from the speaker. Do not expect amazing sound from this speaker, those who have reviewed it saying that the quality is incredible obviously haven't listened to anything other than tinny TV speakers and a 1950's portable radio. If you are looking for an upgrade to your TV speakers then this is going to be hit and miss. If you have a little 19" TV then this may very well be an improvement but if you are buying this for your 55" then I would recommend that you spend a little more. For example, portable JBL or Anker Bluetooth speakers boast far superior sound to this speaker in a similar form factor. The bluetooth is also poor if you want to watch videos as the sync is noticably off, however, this will not be a problem if you are streaming music to it from your phone for example That said, if you are looking for a small speaker which you do not need to charge or simply need some sound then this is actually a good little speaker, it's not tinny by any means and has good clarity. I have bought it because although I usually use a headset with my PC, I am sometimes in my office and want to take my headset off. It is compact and takes up little desk space, comes with a 3 year warranty (once registered with Majority) and feels like a good quality speaker as it has a little weight to it. To conclude, if you simply want some sound from a device in a small space then this could be for you, if you want some real punch to your sound and an improvement on the built in speakers on your TV then I'd recommend looking elsewhere. At very little extra cost The Majority Snowdon II looks to be a better budget option for your TV. Pros: Inexpensive Good quality build and 3 year warranty Small form factor Cons: Poor Bluetooth for playing movies/Youtube etc Poor bass

Bargain Soundbar
Just received my Bowfell soundbar this morning, hats off to Amazon Prime for getting it to me in 12 hours. Setup was simple, I'm using it i'm my bedroom to improve the TV sound quality of my 32" Toshiba flatscreen which as standard is pretty thin sounding with no bass. I'm also using it for music from my iMac via optical digital. For the size and price I think the sound quality is excellent and although at a lower level it produces a surprisingly decent amount of bass, midrange and HF are more than acceptable. There are some minor caveats though, first there is no consistency of volume inasmuch as if you switch between different inputs the volume levels are vastly different so it pays to have the remote to hand if it's too loud. Also the remote appears to share frequencies with my TV remote and if you adjust the volume on the soundbar it will switch on the TV, so I've had to resort to putting something in front of the remote sensor on the TV to avoid it happening. I also noticed when playing back via optical from my iMac if I'm playing a CD with gapless playback such as Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd where the tracks blend the music is muted briefly and then takes a few seconds to ramp back up to the proper volume, I could get round this by using the iMacs headphones output into the aux input on the soundbar but I want to use that for the TV sound. Streaming the same album from Amazon Music via Bluetooth also gets rid of the issue, the Bluetooth sound quality is also very good and doesn't appear to lose any quality compared to the other inputs. One feature that it doesn't have which I would have liked is for it to power down when there hasn't been an input signal for a while, very useful as I listen to music before going to sleep. Overall for the ยฃ37 that I paid for it I would have to give the Majority Bowfell soundbar a 5* rating. Edit: On checking a little deeper into the instruction manual it appears the Bowfell does have an auto powering down feature although unlike some other audio equipment I own which powers down in about 20 minutes with no input signal, the Bowfell takes 3 hours to power down which is a little excessive but better than staying powered up..

Great TV speaker
I've only had this speaker for one day, so not an in depth review. This was bought mostly as a speaker replacement for small TVs and I've only connected it by AUX and Bluetooth so far. AUX works great, with no lag. The sound is clear and the EQ modes do have a small effect. Flat: as you would expect. Rock: more bass. Jazz: more treble. I kept it on 'Flat' for everyday TV drama dialogue. I have only tried the Bowfell connected to a TV by AUX because I wanted to use it to help my hard of hearing mother watch TV with the family. I got a 3.5mm stereo splitter cable, plugged it into the TV headphone socket (mutes the TV) and split the signal to the Bowfell (for the family) and to my mothers wireless headphones. Now we have independent volume control, with a remote that doesn't affect my mothers listening volume. The perfect solution for only ยฃ35. Connecting by Bluetooth for playing music is simple. The speaker appears after a scan as 'Majority Bowfell' and no codes are needed. Again, sound was great but stereo separation isn't massive (it's only a comparatively small sound bar). I used it with the 'Flat' EQ again and EQ'd from my smart phones' music player. It's easily loud enough for most domestic settings, but don't expect to PA a rave with it! My first sound bar and I am very pleased. I had tried a small Anker Soundcore initially, but the Bluetooth couldn't be turned OFF when connected by AUX, and the constantly flashing blue 'pairing' light drove me crazy (sent it back). No such problems with the Bowfell for only ยฃ5 more. There is a different coloured light for each connection method, and Bluetooth is OFF in all other modes. The AUX mode light is visible, but doesn't flash, and is soon forgotten about. But be aware that there is no onboard battery and the Bowfell can only be used when connected to the mains by the supplied PSU. Great product. So cheap!

Cheap can be Good
I purchased this sound bar for something to play music through via my phone whilst practicing darts. I opted for it due the the ratings and the price as I didn't really want to pay to much. The Majority Sound Bar is very smart looking, and very well constructed. It has a nice weight to it and is a nice size. As well as using it with my phone I decided to use it with my 28" Samsung smart TV, and I must say that the sound bar is a vast improvement over the tv's sound quality. The high, mid and low tones are nice and clear. Though the three EQ settings on the soundbar remote (Flat, Rock, Jazz) are a waste of time as there isn't any difference between them. Maybe it's just my bad hearing? Now what is very inspiring, and other companies need to take note.. Is the After Sales Customer Care. Majority's Customer Care is just Amazing! After registering my products warranty via their website, I sent them a message asking them for the size of the male plug that goes into the soundbar, as I didn't want to keep moving the tv cabinet to unplug it so I can use the sound bar in another room. Now this is what really make Majority stand out from other companies.. Instead of sending me a reply telling me the plug size, I received a message telling me that they will be sending me out another power supply! Surely enough, three days later another power supply arrived in the post! Well done Majority, Their customer services are 1st Class. They really know how to look after their customers. Now the soundbar may not have high quality sound compared to the big expensive brands. But then the Expensive higher quality brands Don't have the Customer Care like Majority has. A huge thumbs up to a good budget soundbar from a company that cares about it's customers! Highly recommended!

Good sound for what it is, well finished, 2* lost because of poor features
Bowfell sounds good, given its size and the limitations of a sound bar over wider stereo separation. All round sound for my listening (mostly rock) is well balanced and the detail on the bass is surprisingly good and doesn't over-power the rest of the sound. It will drive more than enough volume for a small room and sits easily under a monitor. Using it also as a speaker for Zoom calls and it's been fine for speach with no complaints. The housing is well made and the powder coating on the speaker grille and sides is evenly finished. Overall, it feels a quality product. Conneting to bluetooth was straightforward. There are three EQ presets available on the remote control, I've just left it set at "flat", "jazz" sounded hollow and "rock" just seemed to increase the mid-range. If you're keen to play about with the sound, you'll need to have a source with a better set of EQ controls. Biggest disappointment is that the claimed "USB input" does not allow you to connect the Bowfell via USB to a laptop. The USB input only allows a thumb drive with music files on it to be connected. I've not tried this, but looks like the remote control will let you play tracks or skip forward or back. However, there's no display, so you'll be unable to see what you're playing, what's next or be able to navigate through folders on the USB drive. Perhaps to be expected at this price, the remote control is made of cheap, hard plastic with less tactile appeal than a Lego brick and feels very fragile. The buttons are rubbery and it's a stark contrast to the soundbar itself.

Good device for money and very pleased overall
Easy to setup, and sound good enough for most people whom are just trying to boost output from watching TV and computer. Connectivity very good for price but i do miss the HDMI and would pay a bit extra for that facility. But i have set it up with Optical and with plugged into TV microphone and both worked great as long as you remember to use remote to up and down sound. Different colour lights indicate what connection you are connecting through. Couldn't get aux cable enclosed to work but might be me or my old Sony TV. Bluetooth worked when i connected my laptop and played some tracks from You tube and MP3 on computer. Weighty but small in size and easy to keep cables relatively hidden if TV on furniture. Couldn't get Bluetooth headphones to work so assuming you have to pass sound to speaker and not pass TV or other input sound from speaker to them, didn't expect this to work for the price but tried it anyway. Also there are buttons on side of device should remote not work or you temporarily run out of batteries. Had to buy Pipestation optical cable as this is not supplied. These two fitted worked well together. We feel this device looks good, sounds good for what we want and does not dominate the living room. Only minus is i do miss the HDMI. Good product for the price point and overall we are pleased with it. Sorry i forgot to mention there is a USB connection as well. Played with it a bit more and found you can control volume with TV control if you have it plugged into TV Microphone socket (Green light on). Also in considering what you are getting for the money i would have liked to have given it 4.5 stars or 9 out of ten if Amazon allowed this scale.

Great sound, great price
This Bowfell sound bar is for a portable cd player whose sound is poor. I wasn't sure if the sound quality would be what I was looking for but thought it would be worth a try. WOW the soundbar is brilliant, easy to set up and good sound quality. We've also tried it with our tv and although we thought we would never want a soundbar on our tv we have now changed our minds & will be ordering a Snowden2 sometime soon. Wish I'd thought about purchasing this a lot sooner.
