I Have the StarTech DVI-D to 2x DVI-D - M/H, I am attempting to connect two computers {(Dell Inspiron 13 Laptop (via HDMI to DVI-D Cable/Adapter) & PC (DVI-D to DVI-D Cable/Adapter)| to a single Monitor. Computers are not used at the same time. Works on one monitor (HP LA2405x), however, the second tells me to change the setting resolution to1920x1080. Change of settings yields no results on the second monitor. Any Ideas? I understand It was designed for one PC two Monitors. I was hoping it would work for my application. I have rated this high because it is well built and sold at a great value. I am sure it's something I am doing wrong.

Worked perfect for about a month or so. Then one of the monitors started having problems with pixelation, or pixels that were not displaying properly. Of course, many things could cause this, but removing this splitter cleared it up. We were able to reconfigure our cables without the need for a splitter, so we don't use it anymore. Before I wrote this review, however, I tested the splitter on a different computer and monitor. I tested both outputs and did not have a problem. So, because I cannot consistently reproduce the problem, and thus can say with 100% certainty that this splitter is the problem, I still gave it 4 stars. I'm keeping with my cables in case I need it again. O, this is a DVI-D splitter, so keep that in mind. It may not work with some DVI-I applications. For example, you cannot use a VGA adapter with it.

This is a bad product. The cord itself is only 9". However, end-to-end, it does measure 12.5". The end with two female inputs is big and bulky. It doesn't fit or look well sitting on a desk. I tried to use the single end (the male connector) on my monitor and it didn't fit correctly. The connector is large and I couldn't access the screws to secure a good connection. After soliciting the help of someone with very small fingers, we ensured that the connection was secure, and the image still wasn't stable. It ranged from pure static to a still image that every few seconds felt like it was going to destabilize into static. The pins don't look perfectly straight when compared to other DVI cords I have. Very disappointing product. Most reviews were poor but I thought I'd give it a try since I usually can get things to work. This cord isn't usable for me. I should return it...

As many said, this is not biderectional. It is meant for one computer and two monitors, but, as an alternate use, I reversed it and hooked up one monitor so that I can access two computers (not at the same time). The only caveat is that only one may be connected at a time. My laptop has HDMI and I had to get an HDMI/DVI adapter. The monitor is only DVI and VGA. My PC is DVI. I cannot have both cables connected at the same time. So yes, I still have to disconnect either PC or laptop in order for the monitor to work. But at least the cable makes it so that I don't have to keep turning my monitor on it's side to reach the connector. It is easier to connect and disconnect each DVI connection when it is at a distance from the monitor.

Works fine, easy to set up. Not what you use for dual-monitoring (just in case you were thinking of buying it). Would give this a solid 6/5 stars were it not for the outrageous return cost. Gonna keep it just in case I need a good link to hang myself with it. Overall decent dvi-splitter.
