Excellent for a DIY project and a Great Solution for Enhancing Security
I installed this RFID electronic cabinet lock on my wooden cabinet, and it has exceeded my expectations. The setup was straightforward, and the lock operates smoothly with RFID cards, providing a secure and convenient way to access the contents. The hidden design makes it discreet and adds a sleek, modern look to my furniture. The included USB cable is a thoughtful feature for easy reprogramming and power backup, ensuring the lock remains functional even if the batteries are low. The lock feels durable and well-made, offering reliable security for drawers, lockers, or cupboards. Overall, this RFID lock is an excellent DIY solution for enhancing security and convenience in home or office storage. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a modern, easy-to-use locking system.

Fancy Stray Cat Houses-No Bullies, Racoons or Possums Allowed!
This does exactly what it says it does. Super easy to program cards... It's almost so simple it's complicated. lol. If you mess up while programming, just reset and start over. I actually got this and 1 other to use for outdoor pet house to allow one cat in and not let in the bully cat that's been running around or the racoons or possums. So far it has kept the bully cat out. The racoon & possum haven't tried yet but I am hopeful! Also, it has been working fine in 10 degree weather. The cards do seem to work a bit better than the tags but both work and it programmed to all cards that came with this one and the 4 cards I received with the other . It works better if you line up tag to the right spot.... try teaching a cat how to do that! lol Great purchase! Especially for the price! And, it can be plugged in so I don't have to worry about forgetting batteries!

Its a cool gimmick, but not enough quality to be professional grade
It works, but the performance is inconsistent. One of the locks I have actuates pretty well, the other one not nearly as well and can't handle any tension force on the mechanism. The mechanism is sensitive to the force imposed on the lock in all directions. If there is too much force on the mechanism inward (OR outward), it will not actuate properly and release the bolt when unlocking. Therefore making the installation tedious to get the right amount of force to oppose the lock, if you want the door to spring open. This doesn't matter much with a typical desk drawer, where it doesn't need to be perfectly flush or be under tension, but it does matter hugely when trying to use this on a flush panel under some tension so it springs open. I think this is a manufacturing issue. The piston and the cylinder bolt which it captures are cheaply machined with sharp edges not sanded off and they bite into each other when locked and force is exerted on them. This causes the mechanism not to release cleanly, because it can't overcome the friction caused by the metal edges with it's tiny motor. Lubrication won't do anything, but with a small metal file and a little time, you might be able to smooth out the contact points so it actuates more cleanly.

Great function and value, not always an easy install though.
Overall I give this product a five for function. It is a good lock and well worth the cost. As far as it being easy to install that depends on the application I suppose. In my case I am using it for a shelf which has a hidden compartment that drops down. In this application lining up the latch with the holding mechanism is super tricky because the angle at which the compartment closes has to be accounted for and itโs not just a matter of simple math but rather a lot of trial and error and really small micro adjustments until you get it exactly right. When you finally get it right it works like a charm and is worth the effort. The other issues I had was that only 1 of the 4 cards that came with the pair of locks was able to be programmed. All of the key fobs worked though so it wasnโt an issue. The one recommendation I would give to the manufacturer would be to make the wire lead longer on the lock. It was too short to be of any use in my application. There was simply not enough wire to extend it anywhere that would have made it accessible once the shelf is locked. Had it been 6 inches longer I could have extended it to a place where it would have been accessible and concealed. Not a knock on the product just an idea to make it more usable for more applications. Like I said before I still have to give it five stars based on function and overall value.

Great but measure
Works great but make sure you measure. I used it for a secret drawer on a might stand thatโs only 3 inches and I had to switch the pieces. Thatโs was a pain to figure out. Other than that I love it. Iโve had it for about 4โmonths and have had to change the batteries. Itโs gonna suck when I do because the part that takes the batteries is supposed to be on the pull out part of the drawer

Hard to install, LOCKS when batteries low/die
Update 1-30-2025. After contacting the manufacturer, and repeatedly trying different techniques to get them to open, the locks kept us from our cabinet contents for over a month! Finally had to break into them, then have the cabinets repaired, and repainted. HUNDREDS of DOLLARS worth FAR MORE than these CHEAP PIECES OF @%$@#$% ..... What's worse, even as cheap as these were, the seller/manufacturer essentially e-shrugged, and said sorry, nothing more we can do to help. So, given the worthless support and the eventual failure of these, I'm reducing my rating to a ONE-STAR ... since zero stars are not available! (As a replacement, I've switched to magnetic locks -- MAGNETS cannot fail, and am very happy with our new system of securing our liquor and medicine cabinets.) --- ORIGINAL REVIEW --- Really wanted to give this a 5-star as the concept is great. First though, you should know that it's REALLY difficult to install. My carpenter and I worked for hours each time, installing a few of these to get them right. There's no way to adjust the two pieces to line them up better once the screws are drilled - so plan and drill CAREFULLY, but it's still very difficult. Second, once they're installed and working, I actually would absolutely give them five stars -- and would have probably given them 4-stars because of the installation time, that is -- until the batteries started running low after a few months. At this point, with two units now, the batteries must be low, as they are making a ticking sound, but remain locked & WILL NOT open with the RFID card!!! Will it eventually open? I don't know!!! Don't really want to destroy my custom cabinets trying to open them. How long before I decide just to destroy the lock and rip it open? Again, I don't know but the cost of fixing once torn open will be far more than the cost of these units!!! Hence, the two-star. Gets one star for the concept, and one for working well for a few months, but am really regretting getting these now. The invisibility is great, but if they fail to work right ... VERY frustrating!

Nice item, but has one big issue
This is a well priced, nice little lock, which works with fobs and cards, and is "relatively" easy to set up. There is one big issue, however, and that is that you cannot set it to remain in an unlocked position - in other words, it automatically closes after about 5 seconds. This means that if you want to lock this drawer only SOMETIMES, overnight perhaps, or when access is available to strangers, etc., you can't, and it also means that when you use the drawer personally and any time, you must unlock it and close it shortly after opening, or you can't fully close the drawer. In other words, if you close it with the automatic lock functioning, the drawer, or course, can't be closed fully because the lock section is locked, thus not allowing the drawer to close fully. So this would be good for an office, or such, but in a personal function only, it is limited, and doesn't work for those who want to intermittently lock the drawer, cabinet, etc. I asked the manufacturer to confirm this finding, which they did, and they did immediately - so other than this issue, the lock works. Just be aware that you can't leave it in an unlocked position for more than the time it is programmed to automatically lock itself.

Cool gadget, but not a security device
This is a cool little gadget that you can use to lock a small drawer or cabinet door. Just don't expect it to serve as a security device. While both pieces can be screwed into wood to hold them in place, a swift yank will rip them right out. It comes with multiple RFID keychain style tabs and credit card sized RFID cards as well. I was never able to get them to program more than one of the RFID cards at a time, so I had one that works and a stack that are useless. I would strongly recommend also buying a USB cable that's long enough to reach a plug or charging bank as a back up. When the batteries are close to dying the unit will alert with a tone and unlock itself. Once they are completely dead the until will remain locked and the only way to unlock it is to replace the batteries or plug in the USB cable to power. If its in a space that is not reachable from the outside, this is a major problem. This happened to me multiple times and the last time I had no choice but to pull the sliding cabinet door until the screws broke loose. The best application for these locks is hidden drawers or cabinets. They are very popular for DIY hidden valuables (guns, cash, jewelry, etc.) cabinets and drawers where the storage space remains hidden until the RFID tag is waved over the lock from the outside. The RFID tag only works through about 1/2 inch max of particle board or plywood. I doubt it would work beyond that 1/2 inch through any material or a hardwood at all. I eventually gave up on it because of the issue with it locking when the batteries died and not having a plug close enough to use the USB option.

Nothing wrong with this
Works great as advertised. Comes with a lot of cards and tags and double sided tape pads which were great for setting it up. I bought 2 and I am happy.

Not sure
Hi Im not sure that I have recieved the exact item I purchased, I payed $85.00, for what I wanted and saw this exact same item for $29.00 on your website, I ordered the more expensive one, and to be honest this lock is pretty flimsy and not made from sturdy materials for what I want to lock away, so I dont think its the model that I actually purchased

Fussy to install but works
It took a couple of tries to get the mounting screws in the right place but it works quite well. (Mine is installed behind 1/2" plywood) Not a lot of range for the prox so you do have to place the card in the exact right spot. Mine may be a newer version as there is no reset button. The hole is there but no button so when programming the cards/fobs it's just a matter of presenting the management card first then the other card/fobs in quick succession. Good value for the price.
