It is a solid, thick cable. Appears to be sturdy and well built. I give it 5 stars but with a note of caution as to how it will be used: I bought it to use on my portable 2.5 inch external drive. The cable itself, plugged in to the drive, is heavy.. much heavier and stiffer than normal cables. It seems to be "pulling" down from the connector due to the weight of the cable and putting some stress forces on the driver's connector. So I would say this cable is probably BEST used for permanent installations of larger, heavier items. Also, regarding small, portable hard drives, the cable is so thick if you bump it, it will transfer the movement to the drive.. If it's on a desk, near the edge, it could fall off. A limp cable would be less -likely to do that. So that is why I suggest this cable for more permanent installations.. Like a heavy NAS or a full sized 3.5 inch external drive. But not for 2.5 drives that are designed to be very lightweight. That being said, I have no regrets on buying this cable. I may not continue to use it on my little lightweight MiniStation 2.5 inch HDD, but I'll find something for it to do.

This is probably my umpteenth time with an Amazon Basics cable for my laptop/phone/hard drive/car. Time and again, the quality and durability far exceed my expectations compared to what I paid for them - in some cases having paid more for name brands that broke within days, yet months and years later I still have the Amazon Basic product. This is a quality cable which I needed for a data recovery project I was working on and one of the tasks was recovering data from a damaged external SSD, it was getting power and I could see the disk but that was it – nothing in file explorer. You’re supposed to be able to just use a USB-C in the right side of the port for the Micro B, well since there was damage to the drive it wasn't drawing enough power for that in addition to pulling the data I needed to recover. Wasn't sure the cord change would work, but it did for me! If you haven't already, give the Basic's a try - you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I love Amazon Basic for things like this. I had an old external hard drive in bought probably 10 years ago and I had lost the micro usbx cable for it when I moved about 5 years ago. For the longest time I couldn't find a replacement so the drive just sat on a shelf unused. I saw it setting there earlier this week and decided to try to give it a go finding a cable. Got this for $9, it's a little long for my need but it works like a dream. The drive is responsive and transfer speeds are excellent. The cable is thick and feels great. Would definately recommend.

I have purchased a 9 foot cable for my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 @ Rs499. I was very happy about the cable quality, thickness and durability. I have already bought the same cable ( but 6 feet) three years back from amazon basic which is still working. Amazon delivery people in my area are not good , they never called me on the date the product was out for delivery, but late in the evening there is a update that " delivery is attempted and the courier was unable to contact the recipient to arrange delivery" even-though I am a Prime member of Amazon

開発作業でスタンドアロンで実施する作業にて、ISO イメージをネットワーク経由で使えないため、 ZALMAN ZM-VE350 に ISO イメージを放り込んでおき、仮想ドライブから利用する、といったことを行っているので、 ZALMAN ZM-VE350 を固定して設置して、2.7m のこのケーブルで接続する開発機を切り替える運用をしています。 2.7m ありますが、バスパワー動作についても特に問題ありませんし、業務使用なのでケーブルの丈夫さはかえって安心感があります。 (確かに、ポータブル BD/DVD ドライブなどで短めのケーブルを使う場合は、ドライブ側がケーブルの固さで動いてしまうというのはあると思います)
