Works good unlike offshore made sprayer.
Pros. Solid built 1 gallon sprayer. Great hose on it compared to other tank sprayer. Does not self disconnect when pumping up tank. Relieve valve on tank is nice to bleed off pressure. The hand pump you can actually take apart and clean if needed. Sprayer control works good. Cons. The volume markings are not dark color as is the name is in black. I used a black sharpie and to darken 1/2 and 1 gallon marks. I did not mark liter impressions. Overall, a great unit, made in USA. Works great and would buy it again. I have used it on chemicals and soap for cleaning I highly recommend Smith spray units

I appreciate the continuous spray this tank puts out!
The continuous spray that this sprayer puts out out beats any other spray bottle where you have to continuously pump to continue the water/chemical spray. It holds a lot of water/chemical, more than needed for most jobs. My husband used it to remove the โpopcornโ on the ceilings in several rooms in our home when we first bought it several years before we purchased it. Iโm writing this about 6 years after purchase and they are still working as I use one for watering my Spanish Moss. Itโs so easy to use as you fill the tank with your desired product, screw on the lid tightly and pump the handle to increase the pressure inside the tank, point the sprayer where you want and squeeze the handle and your product will continuously spray. The pressure depends on how many pumps you give the tank, so you can adjust the pressure to your desire. The entire tank is light yet sturdy and at a great price!

Way better than my cheaper ones
I bought some 1 & 2 gallon sprayers for 1/2 this price, but were disappointed in them. I have a 4-gallon backpack by DBSmith that I've been very satisfied with so I thought I'd splurge and give this a try. Loading: I had some leftover weed killer in 2.5 gallon jugs leftover from a larger job which I thought would be perfect to test this with to do some hand spraying on smaller plots. The mouth is wider at the top forming a small 'funnel' which is better than simply a hole & lid. It was still, though easy to spill the liquid. Pour too slow and it dribbles down your source container. Too fast, and the liquid over shoots the hole itself and sloshes up and out the other side. It could stand a larger 'funnel' top. That being said, I was able to pour without much spilling once I learned to pace it carefully. Stability: I love the wider bottom so I can pour into it from another container without it tipping over. Pressure: It pumps up fairly easily , and maintains its pressure for a reasonable time. It's way better than what I got but I've had some that do better. Fully pumped up you get 5 seconds or so spray at that pressure, then falls fast. But there is a thin, sparse spray that goes on for maybe 30 seconds or more. Pumping: I wish it were easier to pump while walking with it strapped over arm, but was not able to find a comfortable way to do that. Pretty much sat it down to pump up when needed every minute or so. The pump handle and body feel a bit shaky and skimpy. Not sure how long they'll hold up. I wish it were larger in diameter (funned, opening, pump body, and pump shaft) for more volume, pressure, and ruggedness. Spray: I used the universal default nozzle. I was able to get a variable cone of spray that was good for walking and spraying small to medium areas (10 x 10 ft or less although I used it on 10 x 100 or so feet). I was able to get a narrow stream that launched out 12 to 15 feet level. Strap: not as uncomfortable as I'd feared for a narrow unpadded strap. Support: the instructions come with list of parts and kits that can be ordered for replacement. Similar to what I did with my DBSmith 4 gallon backpack. Saves money repairing!. I would not recommend this as a primary, heavy duty due to the non-heavy feel of the pump shaft / mechanism. I am delighted though to have it (above the competition) to use for touch up / interim / and smaller areas after my bigger job parts. It should be fine for the typical suburban lot.

The best sprayer I've used bar none
I've used (and discarded) a number of sprayers over the years. I started with the dirt cheap ones, and they tended to last about a season or two at best even when well cared for. They didn't work well even when they did work, however. So, I upgraded to the "better" ones at the big box stores. Those lasted longer, but still didn't function all that well. So I thought I'd step up to the DB Smith "Professional" model, having read the good reviews. I am just floored by how well this is put together! All the parts and pieces are sturdy; the pump action is smooth; and everything works perfectly. It also has a number of convenience features such as a clip to hold the spray wand in storage, and a cap at the base that catches any dribbles from the nozzle when it's not in use. The control lever is comfortable to use and has an on latch that flips on or off easily. It has a pressure release knob to quickly bleed off the pressure after you're done. It comes with a shoulder strap, and the main body is translucent so you can see the fluid level easily. It comes with a collection of tips including a foaming nozzle, a fan nozzle, and an adjustable cone nozzle. The manual is nicely detailed with tips and photos on maintenance. Icing on the cake: it's made in the USA. They make a similar model called the "O" style which has straight sides to the tank. This model (they call it the "R" style) is teardrop shaped. It offers more stability since it has a lower center of gravity, plus it has the cap at the base I mentioned earlier, which the O style lacks. But, according to the manual, the guts are the same for both styles. The only difference is the shape. I can't speak to the longevity of this since I've only used it a few times, but it seems like I'll be able to get several years out of it. I'll update the review as needed should problems occur. They also make a 3 gal. version. I went with the 2 gal one since I already have a 3 gal sprayer that is working well. But, should that die on me, I'll certainly replace it with another DB Smith. Highly recommend! UPDATE June 2017: Still going strong. Zero problems and everything (including the seals) has held up very well.

Low maintenance, most reliable pump sprayer I have experience with...
I've owned a number of pump sprayers over the years. This model (I have two) has proven over almost 4yrs to be 100% reliable and has required no maintenance/repair aside from a flush with soapy water followed by plain water to rinse. I usually fill with about quart of soapy water, pressurize, spray until empty. This followed by the same with plain water to flush out the soapy water and then rinse the tank. I use them exclusively for a bifenthrin product. Other products may be more prone to leaving residue. Care and cleaning may be required at a higher rate depending on what they're used for. NOT FOR BLEACH AND ACIDIC PRODUCTS. Smith sells other models specifically for use with those products. Bleach and acidic products (ie. vinegar) will damage seals and other parts not designed for this purpose. If a reviewer mentions leaks, important to know what products they used. It has a dedicated purge relief valve. Not all pump sprayers have one. It's a flared design. With a simple pull it releases the pressure and then snaps back into place. Highly ergonomic and fool proof. Another sprayer I owned had a dial-type valve that always left some doubt about if it was open or closed and was harder to use while wearing gloves. Because you should store pump sprayers unpressurized, a purge relief valve makes doing so quick, easy and will prevent you from being sprayed when removing the pump mechanism. According to Smith, it will limit pressurization to 60psi. Safety feature I guess or perhaps something to prevent damage to the sprayer. ` The hoses have proven to be reliable. No leaks or cracks and they've stood up to pressurization well. Same with the pump mechanism, 100% reliable. Smith prominently advertises the use of Viton gaskets and seals. This is a strong indicator that Smith takes reliability and performance seriously. Viton gaskets are used in everything from this pump sprayer to aerospace products, a company that knows it's business. Smith could probably trim some cost from this sprayer by using lowest bidder products but doesn't and that's a good thing. The tank is a thick heavy duty chem resistant plastic. It's pear shaped which increases stability when standing in place, filling it. The bottom of the tank has a protective black stand/covering with an integral cup for the spray nozzle when stowing the spray wand. The stand will also help protect the tank from impact and abrasion damage, probably will help maximize service life. It ships with a variety of nozzles - foaming, wide and narrow sprays, volumetric dispense rates, etc. I've found that the variable rate nozzle that ships attached to the wand works well but for the Bifenthrin product I use, I prefer the fixed-rate red nozzle with a wide and even fan spray. It works best for what I need it for, reduces the time needed to apply the product. Definitely check out Smith's website. Replacement parts, nozzle kits, a cordless electric pump kit that can be retrofitted to some of their hand pump models, etc. There are also third party nozzle options available in Amazon. Two minor gripes barely worth mentioning: 1) It's hard to see the fill markings molded into the tank. It would be great if they shipped with high visibility markings. I took care of this with red permanent marker rated for outdoor use. 2) There isn't a stress relief on the hose where it exits the sprayer. Not an issue when using the sprayer but when stored, it tends to kink. After almost 4yrs, this hasn't resulted in a hose failure but just the same, a stress relief would be confidence inspiring. Bottom line: Serious product, highly recommended.

I don't know much about sprayers but I'll never buy a cheap one again. This one far exceeded my expectations
I've been using a sprayer primarily for weed control for the last 3 years. I've been buying the cheap ones at walmart and amazon and I think 1 lasted 6 months or so but others died in the 1st month or two. I was only paying $5 - $15. So I decided to find a good one that would last and ran across this one on amazon. They had one of the highest ratings on amazon a descent price under $40 was twice as big as the cheap ones (I got 2 gallon) and came with much more than I had before. High quality tips that I will probably never use (the main one is fine for my needs) The wand is twice a long as the cheap ones to get into hard to reach places. The sprayer and pump are made so much nicer and the carrying strap was a huge bonus. Now in addition to having a very well made sprayer I can do the entire yard in 1 fill in about 1/2 the time. The sprayer is much stronger and more accurate, carrying the tank at my side makes pumping very easy and 10 pumps last a long time. The release valve is a must (used to get sprayed in the face opening the cheap ones). So as you can see I'm a novice and I think this sprayer is professional grade but at this price point just spend a little more and you won't regret it.

Better than Pictured!
They must have updated the design since they took the photo that's displayed here. The new version has a black plastic base that includes a little cup area for the nozzle to fit into during storage. This catches any liquid that might happen to drip off the nozzle while in storage. This is really a great sprayer. The plastic is thick and the wand has plenty of length. I wanted to get a backpack sprayer so I could have one hand free while spraying but the included shoulder strap solves that problem and I didn't need to get a larger sprayer than I needed. The sprayer comes with a couple of fan nozzles, and adjustable plastic nozzle and an adjustable brass nozzle as well as a foaming nozzle. I haven't tried the foaming nozzle but all the other ones performed perfectly. The sprayer provides a nice even spray even as the pressure drops and it's easy to pump the sprayer even when on your shoulder. I had a very old sprayer that lasted many years. This one is much nicer and easier to use. It would have been nice if there were more gradations on the side of the sprayer. I only remember seeing 1 Gallon and 2 Gallon marks. They are difficult to see so I used a permanent black marker to make them more pronounced. The tank is just translucent enough to see the level of liquid. A nice feature is the trigger lock that keeps the spray open. I mainly use this when I'm done and rinsing out the sprayer. Rinse out the tank a few times and then fill it up with fresh water, pump it up and then let the water spray out to flush the hose and nozzle. I use this mainly on my lawn and garden. It's much more convenient and precise than using a hose end sprayer. Not having to drag the hose around alone was worth the price. I've mixed some fairly strong concentrations of citric acids and sprayed many gallons of it. Have had no issues with the sprayer leaking at any point

Durable and easy to use
So I have bought a few different brands of sprayers over the last few years, this is the only one that lasted. I burned through 3 other brands and the first one of these that I bought over 6 years ago it is still working I have bought 3 more of these, yes they cost more than the cheap ones but this sucker lasts. now the gasket around the pump can be a bit finicky but I found as long as I didn't torque it down really tight it worked fine so if you over tighten the thing it will crimp the gasket and leak. I love that it has multiple tips, and even a brass one. All the seals are made from Viton which is a really chemical resistant gasket material. And they sell a rebuild kit for the pump and gaskets if they do ever go bad. So over all I liked this so much I bought 3 of them, and probably will buy another one. I don't like to mix chemicals, so I use a different sprayer for each kind of chemical that I use.

Buena Calidad
Un poco alto el costo comparado con otros similares, pero ya que lo vi vale mucho la pena por la excelente calidad de los materiales

Heavy duty construction with a great nozzle
This sprayer comes with a number of sprat nozzles but I just used the brass one. Easy to adjust the volume/ strength of the spray. Keeps pressure for a long time. The shoulder strap makes it so much easier to carry.

Great for its price!
Iโve been using mine for just about 3 months now and Iโve yet to encounter an actual issue. Worst thing I though was when it first arrived the plastic seams inside had plastic flakes coming off but easy fix!
