Q: Hello, will this work with my elitebook 840 g6? i note the spec says 830 and 850 but not 840. please confirm.

It should work with any device which has a USB 3.1 Type C socket. I use it with an HP Envy x369 13", a Surface Go, and a MacBook Pro 15" with no problems.

As long as it has a thunderbolt 3 port it should work

Yes it does, it comes with both the UK 3 pin plug and the euro double pin.

Q: If i have an older hp laptop that doesn’t have a usb c port, would it work with a usb c to usb adapter into my usb port?

Possibly. I'm successfully using this with an HP Probook 640 G2 via a USB C adapter. So long as the USB port supports USB 3 it *should* work.
