Side burner valve setup. How do you assemble? And does the valve just sit inside the pipe with no secure connection.

Yes the valve just sits it the pipe. Put the valve in the pipe then tighten mounting screws. It seems a bit strange but it works ok with no gas smell

For some reason the side burner doesn’t work after putting it together. everything else works ok. have i missed something?

I know this seems obvious but Is the gas outlet pipe correctly inserted in the burner receiver pipe? Mine was a bit of a fiddle to align with the on off button but done after a few grunts and groans- with mine the gas outlet just sits in the burner pipe ?
