A very good brown cable cover. Flexible and does exactly what it says. Holds the cable well and can easily be moved if needed.

Correct to advertisement and suited my requirements. This was not heavy duty like you find in the workplace so if the cable is slightly coiled then the cable management lifts. The slot to insert the cable is narrow and to be fair the size is shown in the description. Overall I am happy with the item.

Our outdoor Christmas decorations this year are giving the Blackpool illuminations a run for their money! And with many lights come many cables, too many of which were serious trip hazards for anyone walking down the drive to our front door. So I wanted a cable mat that would tidy the mass of wires and keep them hugging the bricks of the driveway. I needed a total of about 8m of mat, and given it would be used for about a month, I didn’t want to spend a fortune. The way my cables run means we don’t drive over them, so I was happy to get a light duty product. The cover works perfectly for me. Heavy enough to lay flat to the drive, easy to cut to size (with a very sharp knife), and easy to load with the cable (although I’d recommend doing this as a two-person job for any run over a couple of meters to prevent the frustration of getting to the far end of the cover only to discover the cable has popped out at the beginning). Before you buy, bear in mind that this is a 6cm wide, black rubber mat that rises more than 1cm off the ground in the middle. If you run it across the middle of your white-carpeted lounge, it is going to be far from discreet. And if you run it in front of a door that hugs the floor, it’s going to get snagged. But for the right job this is a well-made product at a good price, and I’m really pleased with my purchase.

Strong and flexible yet easy to cut to size

This is a good quality, substantial rubber strip which would work extremely well for thin cables, and the slot along the bottom allows a cable to be pressed into place without the need to thread the cable down a tube, which is very convenient. However, the diameter of the tube down the centre is relatively shallow, 5mm maximum, with width of approximately 15mm, so only small diameter or flat cables will fit within it. I wanted to use it to protect a normal 3-core extension lead (cable diameter 8.5mm) but couldn't force it inside without pulling the slot so wide open that the 'wings' of the strip actually pointed upwards, and the cable squeezed itself out of the slot. There are two shallow side tubes flanking the central slot and these would accept small diameter wires, maximum diameter 3.5mm, but the wires would have to be threaded down these and I expect this would be quite tricky - the surface of the rubber is quite high friction - and this difficulty would increase with the longer lengths of cover strip. To increase the visibility of the cover strip I applied green/yellow striped electrical masking tape along it's length and this has stuck very effectively. Just a shame I can't use it for its intended purpose.

I found this product extremely easy to cut to size using a combination of scissors and a craft knife. It was an absolute dream to fit and I was pleasantly surprised at how flat it lies once it's in position. I didn't even need to use double-sided tape to hold it down as the texture seems to grip the floor adequately. It's very simple to slide the electrical cable into the groove and it appears to be very well protected indeed. Just what I needed to secure a cable beneath a carpet without having the tell-tale ridges appearing within days. I would highly recommend this product to those wanting a simple but effective solution to effectively hiding stray cables.

Big, heavy, soft and floppy (imagine you're a cable and you're being sat upon by a giant rabbit...). Wider than I expected! It's two and a half inches wide. I wanted to cut mine to door-width, and altered my mind a couple of times as to where that would be, and then I found I couldn't get the ballpen marks off (even though I tried rubbing with alcohol). It cut very nicely with the kitchen scissors though. One thing I do note: it doesn't protect the cable from pressure very much. It's soft and just covers the cable. Protects from abrasion. I think it works best with two cables (I have two 7mm diameter cables in mine, they just fit, and it sits well - I don't have to tape it closed at the back). If you have soft cable and plan to step on it a lot then I think a hard rubber cable protector would be better. I'm sorry they don't do white - I'd have chosen that, even though it would get dirty (white cables, white paintwork, white UPVC door). I've only just fitted it, so time will tell.
