Highly Recommend.
I have bought several of these, (4) to be exact. (2) for 12Vdc & (2) for 13.8Vdc. I bought one of each for spares and the others have been in my Adventure Van for several years. They do a great job at regulating my 14.2Vdc lithium batteries to the 12 & 13.8V that are needed for sensitive electronics such as a fridge & fan which have microprocessors within them and cannot handle slightly higher voltages. My MaxAir fan has an issue where if the voltage is over 12.8 volts, the small circuit board will go bad, due to a design flaw in the MaxAir fan. Using this 12Vdc converter has proven over 2 years to keep my MaxAir fan in check. My fridge will not operate higher than 13.8 without causing the sensitive computer electronics on board from being damaged, so I regulate the voltage with the 13.8V unit. Do not exceed the rated amperage of these units or they will most likely fail. As a rule of thumb, always be under the rated amperage for long life. They do get warm (Not Hot) if they draw close to the rated amperage, so keep them in open air where they can get adequate cooling.

Worked for my unregulated Johnson 25
Time will tell how this holds up. I will update this review if my opinion changes. I was able to install this between my rectifier and charging system on my Johnson 25. Those are an unregulated rectified charging system, so RPM can raise voltage dangerously high. With very good lithium batteries coming out for trolling motors I was able to switch my starting batteries to a very small lawnmower battery and separate my house and motor battery system to save substantial weight. Problem was I saw extremely high voltages at wide-open throttle on my started battery. Placing this between my rectifier and starter wiring allowed me to safely charge my very small starter battery. Edit: 1 year later and many hours and this thing is still working great. Really helps manage the high voltage at high rpm, and has been consistent in putting out 13.8v.

Just what I needed.
Perfect application. As I made my own custom led off road lights for my truck. I needed a voltage regulator but, this is a step up/down kinda deal that has high current of 10 amps. So I bought 4 units. 360 degrees of lights. Better than researching and experimenting, fabricating schematics and making circuit boards. Note: as engine idles and makes less voltage, it draws more current. As engine is up in RPM's it uses less. As long as I'm under 50 amps total, I'm good. And my lights don't dim or get super bright and burn up. Hence, my project is a total success. Only difficulty is finding a place for mounting. I used a relay switch box controller. They go between the lights and the outputs of the controller. The two Black wire are different. The input can be grounded, Output-NOT! The output wires both + &- go strait to the lights. The Red wire to the relay controller box. No problems, Nothing hot. No worries. My lights were made to run at 13.4 to 14 volts. Excellent! How long they last under the hood of a black truck is another question that I cannot answer.

Voltage Converter
I bought this hoping it would maintain a constant voltage for my fuel injection. Finally installed, while cranking the engine, the voltage drops to 10 volts. Doest not supply a constant voltage. When you turn off the ignition, it stays hot for a few seconds. May work as a reduction device, but does not work for boost.

Keeps refrigerator running
Use it to keep a Dometic center console fridge on for 4 hours after I shut off the car. It holds the voltage at 13.8 VDC so the fridge stays on as long as the cigarette lighter plug stays on.

Works well and some technical notes
I bought the 10A 13.8V output unit with a 8-40V input - There were several thing that weren't clear from questions or reviews - here's what I found with the one I received; Idle current with a 13.8V source and no load was 7mA or about 0.1W - roughly 0.18 Ah or 2.4 Wh per DAY for a 13.8V battery. For many applications this could be left on without serious battery drain (great for my application) The output was showing 13.8V on a typical multi-meter with no other "load" - so there is no apparent "Low Load" protection or turn off on this model - It operated an electronic thermostat module that draws 48mA (0.67W) without a problem. This was quoted to require a 35W load to "turn on" in one post and in another, it was asked if it could run a low current sensor - the unit I received absolutely CAN run a low current load (This is necessary for my use) Input wires are 14AWG and outputs are 16AWG I shorted the output - it shuts off and then tries to restart - cycling quite frequently - maybe 3x a second - after about 20 seconds, I removed the short and the unit still works perfectly. More resilient than expected. With a just a 10W load, the unit functioned down to 5V input (not recommended but did not immediately cut off at 8V) as the current rises rapidly at lower source voltage, I wouldn't try less than 8 V for a full load but the unit will run below that (possibly requiring a low voltage shutoff as it doesn't seem to have one internally). This was measured with the unit I received Oct/2022

Voltage converter for DC
Voltage converter works as described. Voltage output was spot on. Would purchase again.

Well satisfied and happy about performance.
Powers my diesel heater in my van with the existing cigar lighter wires which have too much voltage drop. It brings the voltage back up to 13 so the Diesel heater does not shut off during power up. The wires do not heat up much and extend all the way back to the bumper.

Evitar conectar de placas a baterías solo conectar a luces o motores
Me parece muy buen producto pero yo lo quería para elevar la tensión de carga cuando está debajo de los 11 de los reguladores y no sirve….menudo susto, además los cables no están aislados del todo

Worked really well as a power supply for my TV in my campervan
Used to have a problem with the TV in my campervan where the fridge or water pump would run and make a lot of noise on the sound channel. Fitted this to run the TV and the noise disappeared completely.

Excellent régulateur / booster
Excellent régulateur booster de tension. Il rehausse la tension s inférieure a la valeur de régulation.... Impeccable réguler la charge de batteries.
