Quite Effective!
As I am going for my second bottle now, I think it is time to leave a review of the product. When I decided to buy this product, I didn't believe my cat Dougal would leave my brand-new sofa alone. But I did it a go. To my surprise, Dougal now ignores my furniture 97% of the time. It is brilliant. It is a suitable product to use and lasts for 2 months, at least, in a house with just one cat. I am not bothered by the citrus smell of it. It is a bit strong, but I like it. I honestly think my cat doesn't dislike the smell of it. He ignores it and leaves my sofa alone, and for me, it is a win! I am glad I have found this product, and I will keep buying form this business! It is well packed and they sent a nice letter of welcome together with every bottle.

Not 100% effective
I want to start off by listing the positives and negatives of this product. Positives: -Smells lovely -Easy to use -Very potent -Does work for about 24 hours Negatives: -Doesn't work with all cats -I still have rips in my wallpaper I used this product right before bed every night for a week (cats were doing most damage during the night). It did keep them away for about 24 hours. When I stopped using it, they went right back to the same spot. I'm looking for a more permenant solution rather than a repeat buy of a spray. Overall: I think it will work with some cats, my 2 just seem to be very persistant. I'll be looking at different options that are a bit more cost effective. You may as well try it, at best it fixes the issue... at worst you will have a lovely smelling home for a couple weeks.

Does work, smells extremely strongly of citrus
Bought this because our cat loves to scratch at the arms of our sofas eventhough he has plenty of scratching posts and toys! This did the trick but it smells *very* strongly of citrus (I could smell it through the delivery packaging), I'd advise putting it on the mist spray setting and using sparingly. The smell does fade noticeably after an hour or so. You also have to reapply every so often and kind of hope that your cat forgets the behavior. I found that spraying once a day was enough to deter our kitty.

Amazing!
Amazing product, smell fades after an hour or two but not to the cat! He’s not completely repulsed or upset- just doesn’t fancy digging his claws into the carpet which is amazing. I’ve been respraying lightly each morning and this seems to keep the scratching at bay

No effect at all
Cats have been destroying our new carpet on the stairs so bought this. Firstly, the spray seems to coat your hands however carefully I use it - not awful as it smells OK, herbal, but not great as it lingers and tastes horrible even after washing your hands. Weirdly by smell-phobic hubby loves this so much he'd use it as aftershave, I'm not usually allowed any scented cleaners, etc. The cats compeletly ignore it even if I am spraying daily or more, the carpet is still scratched. The scratch mats we bought helped a bit but its back to the drawing board as there are no plugs near the stairs for the alternative plug-in anti scratch thingys....

Why didn’t I know about this stuff 6 years ago!!
This spray is unreal! I love a gadget, anything to make life easier, and yes I sometimes fall for a product that promises gold and delivers tinfoil, but this story has a happy ending... 6 years ago I bought a beautiful (expensive for me) electric blue leather sofa...my pride and joy 😍 2 months later I found a homeless feral kitten out in the carpark , it was instant love and we named her Loki. Fast forward 6 years and I’ve barely a thread left on the sofa. It’s gotten so bad that it depresses me to look at it. Loki still looks majestic sitting on top of it tho. I finally decided to get a new sofa, something a little less flash and expensive as the last one, but nonetheless, something that would hopefully look good for a long time. But how would I protect it from Loki? a cheaper, fabric sofa would never stand up to her razor sharp murder mitts like my formidable leather sofa... Enter Kitty Behave Spray!! I decided to purchase this spray before the new sofa arrived and test it in the old one in case a, it didn’t work, b, it dyed or faded the colour, c, because they offered a money back promise...bargain I can’t lose! Spray arrived in a day or two and I went to work spraying Loki’s sharpening zones....might have gone a little over board as I did choke quite a bit in a plume of lemony scent (the scent is really quite pleasant by the way, I just had a rather heavy hand the first go) it also runs off leather which leaves the floor like an ice rink...queue hours of hilarious skids and near misses. But bloody hell does this stuff work!!! All of a sudden it was like Loki had forgotten that she ever loved to shred my sofa! Like an invisible force field had been placed around then perimeter. Now don’t get me wrong, I love to cuddle with my kitty on a lazy Sunday so I didn’t want her banished from the room, I just wanted her to stop destroying my furniture! Lo and behold, she still jumps up and sleeps, she still sits in the floor by my feet, she still uses the sofa as a short cut to her favourite high spots...she just DOESNT claw it anymore!!! What witchcraft is this?!? Once the new sofa arrived I set about dousing it in lemony magic, it didn’t run off my fabric sofa so the flying gymnastics were a thing of the past, and other than a few veiled threats (whilst maintaining eye contact with me - mainly because I’m late with dinner) Loki is more than happy to lounge, lick and navigate my new sofa without so much as a pluck to my new comfort zone. This stuff really is worth it, with a money back guarantee you can’t go wrong (no I’m not sponsored, just extremely impressed) just remember to spray the sofa and not the kitty, and mop up around leather sofa’s unless you’re Torvill or Dean! If only I had of known about this stuff 6 years ago, I might still have my beautiful electric blue leather sofa 😢

good air freshener
This didn't fulfil my requirements. I have tried so many things to discourage my cat from scratching the bedroom door in the middle of the night but without luck. This is totally useless for this purpose as the liquid runs off the wood. I should have known this, I suppose. Is there not a gel like substance that may work. Having said that, I'm not sure that it is a deterrent anyway. I sprayed on the edge of a chair which she sometimes uses a a scratch post. She doesn't really like the smell and skirts round it, then two minutes later is back to perform her scratching trick. The scent is very strong and the cupboard where I keep it smells lovely! There's one answer to all this.. don't have a cat.

Works well as a deterrent, but may need re-application
Firstly, this product does work well to deter our cats from scratching a particular area or piece of furniture. There is a pleasant (to us, not to the cats!) citrus smell which is quite strong, so a little goes a long way. Our cats are two male brothers and are just a year old, and this review is purely based on their reactions, obviously other cats may not respond in the same manner. They had not been scratching the carpet on our stairs for long before starting to use this product. After using the spray, we immediately noticed that they stopped scratching there, and were more inclined to use one of their scratching posts. They did try to scratch the carpet on our second flight of stairs, but again a couple of sprays has stopped that too. The effects of the spray do seem to wear off after a few weeks, as we did notice that they had started to scratch the first location again, but another application has stopped this. Hopefully they will just learn over time through re-applying and this won't be a problem in the future. Overall a great and easy to use product. With how little you need to use, the supplied bottle size will last well over a year, even if we needed to re-apply every 6-8 weeks.
