You have to remove a tail gate tie down point to connect it but it works well even my girlfriend doesn’t know how she did with out it I would assume it holds up over time but first impressions are very good hell I installed it in the rain so can’t be that hard

Pretty quick and easy to install. My only gripe is the T50 star tooth driver provided in the kit. It just couldn't bite into the nut enough to break the bond of the nut with the truck's body. I put more force behind to try and get a really good, sold hold, but it kept slipping out of mesh. Not manufactured to tight enough specs. I soon realized that it was about to ruin the nut's teeth. So, I dug through my toolbox and found a T50 ratchet adapter that I just so happen to have from a separate project. This was the ticket. It was manufactured to much more precise specs. but it still required significant muscle to break the connection. That nut/retainer is on there tight, and for good reason. It probably has thread locker, too. But all-in-all, it's a nice feature, really cool and very affordable. Just know that you can buy a single drive bit or socket adapter at most auto parts stores. Just bought a new truck and kept seeing reviews recommending a tailgate assist to make lowering the tailgate easier without it slamming down. Decided to add this one and I’m glad I did. Install took about 10 minutes with the included tools, and it works exactly as advertised. Tailgate lowers smoothly every time and honestly feels like it should’ve come from the factory. Solid upgrade and definitely worth it.
