INCRA I-Box Jig for Box Joints

I use this jig for building bee hives on a table saw along with a Freud stacking dado set. Box sides line up perfectly and it is a simple adjustment of the indexed dial to set the tightness of the fit. The replaceable back board eliminates tear-out. Work is held securely. Jig does what the manufacturer says it does. Included dvd instruction video for table saw and router is well done and informative. Good design keeps fingers away from blade. A quality, made in USA product.

A well made (Heavily constructed extrusions) micro-adjustable box joint jig, so much better than all the shop-built jigs I have used in the past on both the table saw and router table. This jig is easy to use once you have it set up it is good to go forever or until you change blades or bits (can be used equally as well on table saws or router tables) then you need to do a 15 second realignment of the jig with a knob to zero it to the blade/bit, this thing is so easy to set up. Once set up to the blade/bit, you cut a single dado for the size finger you want and then you micro-adjust another knob for the actual size of the dado grove by placing the groove over the adjustable fingers of the jig and simply rotating the knob at the end of the jig to make the fingers just touch both sides of the test groove and you are ready to go. If after cutting a test the fit of the box joint fingers is not exactly as you would like them you just follow the directions and move the fingers slightly one way or the other, mostly I get it right to begin with so don't have to bother. Pricy, sure, but with saving all the time, money, wood, frustration and fiddling with test cut after test cut, this jig is a ray of sunshine in the shop. This thing is CHEAP (inexpensive cheap) in the long run if you are going to do a lot of box joints for a long time to come and it works great to make dental moldings too. Unless you park your truck on it often I don't see how this jig won't outlast you in the end. OK we all know some folks with whom nothing works for much longer than a week before they trash it but that is not the equipment's fault. I highly recommend this jig to you if ease of use and consistent results are importance to you. This is no cheapo plastic jig it is a big tough aluminum extrusion with double lead adjustment shafts for setting the pair of fingers, both adjustments are on the same shaft with one within the other so both knobs are located at the end of the jig on the same shaft and work in unison to set the jig to the blade kerf. If you keep a sample of a successful test cut as a template you can totally repeat an identical set of box joints in the future, especially useful with the INCRA HingeCrafter where you need exactly the same size box joints for every hinge of the same size in the future. Some folks fuss with things each and every time but I get it right once and keep a sample setup and never have to waste time again. I have made setup blocks or templates for anything I do more than once, then it is an easy decision to add some feature that you have the setup in the template box already to go, don't reinvent the wheel so to speak. As with any tool, especially adjustable ones, you need to know how it works and the correct way to set it up and when all else fails, please READ THE DIRECTIONS and you will have minimal trouble and it is quicker in the long run anyway, so don't guess then blame the equipment. Bottom Line: If you envision lots of box joints in your future or even occasional ones over a long time to come you owe it to yourself to check out this jig.

Der Texaner kann es sich leisten nur Zollmasse anzugeben. Ein digitales Messgerät mit Umschaltung hilft. Die beigefügten Schlüssel sind zöllig, wie die Schrauben. Passt. Zusammenbau mit YT Video gut. Text der Anleitung leider teilweise so kryptisch, dass ein Fehler sich erst ein Schritt weiter zeigt. Also Kommando retour. Das mit der Blattstärke steht am Ende der Aufbauanleitung.
