Have had 2. Sold first one, big mistake. It had the LIGHT aluminum housing, ran great. But didn't have the room. Purchased another 8 years ago, Dura force. Then a local Conoco station was failing to tell its customers it was putting ethanol in its gas, started having trouble with this new mower. Decided to get a riding John Deere - L120. Well the JOHN DEERE only after 124 hours on it, it developed a major transmission problem. ITS CALLED A THROW AWAY TRANNY. The problem is due to the lousy transmission oil that John Deere originally puts in all of them. They also do not have any way of changing the transmission oil. This is a American Made Product. JOHN DEERE IS CRAP AND HAS RIPPED OFF THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS. All the dealers that sell these have been made aware of the serious problems, but still sell these pieces of crap. One web site has over 480 complains dealing with this exact problem, and numerous other web sites with numerous other problems that the poor design and sub standard structure, that John Deere mower have. My local Napa dealers father has exact same problem with his John Deere, but drilled out filling and draining holes in tranny and then added GOOD TRANSMISSION OIL. Now it runs good. These problems have been going on for over 20 years and John Deere has done nothing to correct them. STAY CLEAR OF JOHN DEERE. Well any way, after 6 to 7 years of my Lawn Boy sitting with the carb problem due to ethanol usage. I took apart the carb., carefully. Cleaned it well with carb cleaner, reassembled and it started up and ran like a DREAM. Lawn Boy is the manufacturer that needs to start making riding lawn mowers, not CROOKED JOHN DEERE. Review: Will order again - If you're a Lawn Boy enthusiast like me, then you'll do everything you can to keep your mower in excellent running condition. One day I went to cut my lawn with my 2003 Silver Pro series with the 6.5 hp Duraforce and it would not start. I determined there was no spark and knew right away that the ignition coil needed replaced, as I had this problem before on this mower. I went onto desertcart.com and did a quick search. This seller seemed to offer the best value for the money, so I ordered it. It was in my mail box within 72 hours of me ordering it. Talk about quick service. This seller ships same day. Soon as I got it I took the old one off and put the new one on. The gap for this particular coil is .01 inches, but I used a business card. Just be sure to line up the magnets on the flywheel when setting the gap. The engine fired right up on the first pull of the rope! There must be a flaw with engine because this is he third coil that's been on there (including the factory riginal from 2003). I have only averaged 4.5 years of life with these coils. I hope to get more out of this one, we'll see...It has o nly had about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of use and so far no issues seem to present themselves. I will definitely buy from this seller in the future. For $30 including shipping, it's a bagain. My local shop asks double that. This part is aftermarket, but I don't care, as long as it serves its purpose. Five stars!

Worked like a charm
When my favorite lawnmower went down I knew I had to fix it. But finding parts for a 15-20 year old Lawn-Boy is getting tougher every day since Toro bought them out a few years back. That in turn made it hard to find an ignition coil with a part number that I could match to mine. Finally found one here on Amazon with a good number and picture to go with it at a reasonable price. It turned out to be a perfect match and only took a few days to get here after ordering it. I installed it as soon as it arrived and my Lawn-Boy is running better than it has for years. I never really thought a lawnmower coil could go bad but they do, and with a small investment for a new one, you can make your mower run like new. I am 100% satisfied with this product and recommend it to any Lawn-Boy owners who want to give their mower a new lease on life. Review of ignition coil
I have a 1993 Lawnboy Silver Series Model 10201 push mower. It sat unused in the shed for the last five years. My son moved to a house with a small but hilly yard and needed a light mower. I got the 'boy' out but could not get it started. I took it to the local power mower shop where I purchased it for repair. The shop indicated the the engine was shot. It needed a short block, ignition module and muffler. The parts alone would be $375. He did not recommend fixing it. The shop said that they would dispose of the mower for $10. I got my mower back. I was not ready to give up on it. I searched the internet for a ignition module. Prices ranged from $50-80. I then saw a Amazon hit on the Google search. I saw this part and ordered it. I ordered on a Wednesday morning and it was in the mailbox on Friday. I installed the ignition module and gaped it with the advice I saw on other reviews. The mower started on the first pull. The mower is now in my son's shed and he is using it on a regular basis. Just to show that I am not the supplier writing this review, I will say that one reservation I have is how long this part will last because there were no markings or country of origin on the part. Once again I was amazed at the stuff one can find on Amazon.com.

Works but Doesn't Last Too Long
Not OEM quality and probably will only last a couple of seasons, but for the price it's okay. It does work well at first, but after a few months begins to "heat soak" and get weaker. Makes warm starting difficult when this happens, then finally gives up. Buy two at a time as these will probably disappear before long since 2-stroke LawnBoys are now dinosaurs.

Does the job!
I have a 1996 Lawnboy Silver Series 2 Stroke mower, still cuts like nobody's business. I have replaced this ignition coil twice. The first coil (OEM) lasted until 2007, the replacement then lasted till 2013. I am expecting this coil to last at least 5 years, if so I'll be satisfied. This is an easy part to replace. If your mower won't start, and you don't have a spark at the plug, this is the most likely culprit. I paid just over $20 for this part, which is way easier and cheaper than going to the shop or buying a new mower.

Worked first pull
Ordered on Thurs., arrived on Mon. and started on the first pull. I self diagnosed a 1995 Lawnboy, mod 10201. Though some of my diagnosis of the past haven't always been right, this one happened to be right on! A lack of spark even with a new plug caused me to try this replacement ignition coil, hoping I hadn't wasted $30 or so. Though this coil is a bit smaller than the original, it worked perfectly in my case. I used a playing card to set the 0.01 inch gap called for between the flywheel and the ignition pack, tightened everything back up, primed the gas, and it started on the first pull. Apparently, this is exactly the part I needed to give this 17 year old mower a new life. It's nice when things work out like this time. Good Luck with yours! Michael J
