Easy to use and perfect gift for our Mom!
I originally bought this for my husband and me - we wanted to be able to display more of our photos of family and vacations, and I love the idea of having different playlists. Seemed expensive at first, but the quality and features are worth it. Love being able to set the hours (like Do Not Disturb hours on cell phones) so that it isn't on all night, plus being able to pause with the remote, change the amount of time pictures display, the ability to email photos to it - this is so much better than a cheap digital frame! In fact, it ended up being the perfect Mother's Day gift since none of us have been able to travel to visit Mom this year (thanks, COVID-19!!) so I had my brother and sister, nieces, etc. upload photos to a shared cloud drive, then I added them to different playlists for her to pick (or play all) and shipped it to her! It's not even set up on her wifi yet, but she can still use it - we just can't send pictures or videos to it until one of us goes to visit and helps her connect it to her wifi. But regardless, this is an AWESOME frame, and now we just need to buy another one for ourselves! Also, the frame is really sturdy, looks great, the "kickstand" is very sturdy while still being flexible, and the motion sensor works great. Definitely a high quality frame! I wish it could hang on the wall, but the kickstand/power cord makes that kind of a non-issue, unless you want to drill through your wall and come back out near a plug, which seems like a hassle. It's great the way it is.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT, stunning quality, surprise speaker And video feature
The picture quality is stunning. Setup was easy. There are way more features than I was expecting. I ordered the 13.3” thinking the dimensions would be the standard 4:3, but it is not. This size is the standard Instagram dimension, or full iPhone screen dimension of 16:9, if that makes sense. (Photos I take on IG and save to my iPhone 11x Pro photo library fit this screen perfectly.) So if you add photos with standard 4:3 dimensions to your NixPlay playlist, they will have space above and below instead of filling the screen. I went through my photos and cropped/adjusted the dimensions of each one to be the 16:9 dimension needed to fit this screen perfectly. I have now adjusted the settings on my iPhone camera to always take photos in these dimensions, but all of my old photos are in the standard 4:3 dimension. This is not a complaint in any way, but other buyers should be aware! I suppose you could avoid this by using one of the display settings that doesn’t fill the screen but instead layers the photos, but the pictures are so stunning in full screen, I spent the time cropping them all and am very pleased. If your photos are typically in 4:3 dimensions, I would personally recommend the 8x10 screen. My photo shows the 13.3” NixPlay screen next to a standard 8x10” canvas, so you can see that although the screen is taller than the standard, it is also much more narrow. (An 18 month old provided the art for your viewing pleasure.) Enjoy!!

Excellent Investment, especially with non-social media attached husband...
The Nix was a great way for my non-social media attached husband to see the photos and videos my daughter and son were posting. They simply send the photos to the Nix email address and the pictures show up on our screen. I especially love the ability to adjust the number of pictures that get shown (latest 100, 200, 500, 1000 or all). I'll often reset it to 100 so my husband will see all the recent photos sent. It has a large capacity and even pictures emailed can have captions. Date and time can be shown on the screen as well -- small added benefit but still a nice feature. The remote is convenient. Motion detection means the frame isn't on all the time and the sound from videos won't wake us up at night (You don't want to put this anywhere near where you sleep as it will wake up anytime it senses movement. We have it in our kitchen.). Easy to set up and the Nix having its own email address has simplified our ability to keep the pictures up-to-date. I don't know why anyone would choose any other smartframe. This is simply the best.

pretty good digital photo frame.
I had some trouble with this digital photo frame, but it's not too bad. The problem is the app. It keeps getting stuck on one album on my iPhone and there is no way to go to a different album. I can upload via website, but it doesn't allow video uploads. Only pictures can be uploaded. It doesn't play Live Photos either. I do like the fact that it fills the screen and photo and video quality quality is good. You have multiple options of playback. If only I could get the app to switch between albums on my phone, this would be a great digital photo frame. I'll have to contact customer service and see if they have a solution for the app issue.

Good Frame
Purchased for my Mom to send photos to her. We have a few NixPlays and we can easily share photos and Albums across different devices.

NO WAY TO INCREASE FIXED 8 GB STORAGE FORCES YOU TO SUBSCRIPTION PLAN
Super tiny storage space ruins what could otherwise have been the Cadillac of digital photo frames. It all began well enough when I originally purchased this frame based on its high customer ratings. It was the most expensive photo frame I came across, but my loved ones deserve a Cadillac, don’t they? Setup was pretty easy, including the wireless router connection, and in no time I was uploading family photos off my phone and computer left and right using the handy smartphone app and software that sync with this product. The single deal-breaker was revealed only after a couple weeks of use, and only because I was looking at my Nixplay account on my computer and not in the smartphone app. I had uploaded LESS THAN 200 PHOTOS, but I was shocked to see that I was already using HALF of my allotted frame capacity! That couldn’t be right — could it? With literally thousands and thousands of photos I wanted to share, I was concerned! Digging deeper revealed the terrible truth about Nixplay: The frame only has 8 GB of physical storage and THERE IS NO WAY TO INCREASE THAT. Worse yet, this fact is not revealed anywhere that I could find scouring the product listing. Literally every other digital photo frame I had looked at has the capability to increase storage space via SD cards or USB thumb drives — but not Nixplay! This is such a standard feature across the board that I just did not notice its absence in all the Nixplay product descriptions. I felt like I had just paid for my new Cadillac, and then found out that the gas tank wasn’t included. And, finally, here’s the reason for all this: You can get plenty of online storage and create multiple albums to swap out on that tiny 8 GB storage space, BUT IT’S NOT FREE. Yep, the ultimate goal of this entire setup seems to be to force you to sign up for “Nixplay Plus”, a paid monthly service that you will need to keep up forever as long as you own your frame. The incredibly high price of this frame becomes apparent once you understand the marketing strategy that it uses. Most subscription-based marketing plans will offer you hardware for free or at cost — think free cell phone when you sign up for a two year service plan — and make money off the service that you have to sign up for. Nixplay gets you at both ends, almost forcing you to sign up for a paid plan but also charging a premium for the hardware up front. Just compare the cost of this frame to a full-blown laptop: For about the same price I can get a name brand laptop with a bigger 15-inch screen, full-blown operating system (capable of running a variety of photo slideshow programs), DVD drive, and 500 GB hard drive — literally 60 times more storage space than this photo frame. Seldom have I felt so taken advantage of. So, why the many great reviews? I think it’s from customers who are right where I was at just before I realized I was already running out of storage after only two weeks. They’ve been driving their great new Cadillac for a few days, having a grand time, unaware that their 1-gallon gas tank is about to run out. Eventually after much more research I bought the Pix-Star 15 Inch Wi-Fi Cloud Digital Photo Frame. This photo frame is bigger, much cheaper, has a great picture, and supports external storage media without having to pay for an online storage plan. I’ve been using this frame for months now and love it. Having an option — rather than almost being forced — to subscribe to a service plan would have made me happy to keep this Nixplay frame. As it is, I cannot give a higher review score than one star for a product whose INTENDED functionality forced me to return it. Buy this product if you wish, but be aware that you may never be done paying for it.

Well engineered 5 star item
This is all you can expect in a digital photo frame and more. It is the perfect gift for someone who is not good with electronics. You can simply connect it to their wifi, set up the app, and they won't have to touch a thing ever again. Not only does the app allow you to add and remove photos, but it also controls all the settings, sleep times, brightness, remote control, volume, and anything else normally only available when in front of the device. This is really ingenious. It is also fast, nice quality images, has the option for motion detection or sleep times, updates the software itself, has many options such as captions, transition effects, video capability...it really is pretty close to perfect. What would I like to see added or changed? - The app is really nice but does get into an endless loop on occasion, meaning the upload progress is not clear (the details button doesn't seem to do anything) and sometimes it will seem to sit there forever. Mostly it works though. - It would be nice to have a forward and backward button on the frame itself, just to scroll through the pix. - The frame is a little slippy to put on a shelf, it would be nice to include some sort of grip to keep shelf mounting more stable. - Maximum time per photo is 1 hour which is good in most cases, and probably is used to avoid burn in. It would be nice for a higher time, but I can understand why 1 hour may have to be the max. - It would be nice (asking a lot here) if the app showed which photo is currently on the frame. As it is, the app scrolls through the photos for effect, but since the app has a remote control function, it would be nice to use it to change which photo is on the frame without being near it. I think you can see that even trying to find things to change, they are very small things in a sea of really amazing product. Bravo!

A Happy Purchase!
I love this thing! Now I actually get to SEE all my photos, and they remind me of all the happy times I have had. Easy to set up and add or subtract photos at will, even when I am away on vacation. And it is big enough to get a good view of the photos - dont buy a smaller frame!

Beware, product needs power adapter
Unfortunately we cant review the product because it can not plug into Australian power supply. Misleading that the product being sold by “The big Australian Store” that: A) product would be in Australia (which it wasn’t) and B) It would come with a power pack suitable for Australian power C) at least advise the purchaser it needs a power adapter. Because, unfortunately I have wasted more time trying to source an adapter locally and now waiting for another couple of weeks for one to be delivered via online. So, at this stage am a little disappointed.
