Great Flourescent retrofit.
My first experience with these lamps was when the vestry asked me to look at the lights in the church office because the 60 Hz. hum was driving the secretary crazy, and disposal of the old lamps and ballasts was becoming a problem. I discovered old T12 lamps and PCB ballasts, and the Toggle lamps were the least expensive fix. We were able to retain the original luminaires and dispose of the troublesome ballasts. The pins on the Toggled lamps fit directly into the tombstones. There are even two extra tombstones in the package in case you need to replace them. Eliminating the ballast got rid of the hum, the stroboscopic effect that is often observed with fluorescent lamp is also greatly reduced. The vestry is happy, the church secretary is happy. I liked them so much I have retrofitted my home workshop, kitchen, and laundry room. The brightness is amazing! I'd like to give them fives all around, but there are a couple caveats: 1. Ease of Installation: You have to re-wire the luminaire. As a professional electrician, I had no problem, but judging from the reviews, a lot of other people have had difficulty. But the instructions were fairly well written. Of course, they can't cover every scenario in the instructions, and you need to be reasonably handy. ( Replacing tombstones can sometimes be tricky, so I cut the shunts and capped them off with a small Marrette instead of replacing them) So I gave a four on ease of instruction. Nothing a general handyman can't do if they follow the written instructions. So, I give them a four for ease of installation. 2. "Warmth:" White light is all colors of the spectrum, with red and blue predominant. We usually associate "red' with "warmth" of the light, and these trend slightly toward the blue part of the spectrum. But I kind of like the bluer tone for a work area, and the church secretary hasn't complained. Its more of a preference, and has nothing to do with quality, but they asked to be rated on "warmth."

Outstanding Upgrade to fluorescent tubes.
After doing a bit of research, I decided on these bulbs. Ordered them, and I'll be honest, I wasn't impressed when they arrived. Came in the retail box with a shipping label stuck on. Not packed for shipping at all, and one end was taped up, like it had been opened. The tubes themselves seemed very flimsy and cheap. However, my first impression was WRONG. First, they took literally 10 minutes to install. Very simple and easy. Everything necessary was in the package, except a screwdriver and scissors to cut the wires from the old ballast. Directions were simple and clear. Couldn't have been easier. Once they were installed, and worked perfectly, I went ahead and installed a Feit Electric Smart Dimmer Switch, $29 for a 2 pack at Costco. Even though it's not recommended by Toggled, it worked perfectly. So that one can be added to the approved list. So, for less than $50 and about 45 minutes (the switch took time to figure out on the 3 way circuit), I now have a "smart" kitchen light. I couldn't be happier. Color is perfect, the wife couldn't even tell the difference between the old fluorescent and these. They seem brighter also, and that was important, since many LEDs are lower lumens. But these are great! I couldn't be more satisfied and glad I ordered them.

Great Dimmable Replacement Bulbs!
I purchased a pair of these, to improve the lighting in my kitchen. And boy have they improved it. They're similar in brightness to my original 40 watt florescent tubes at full power, and dim down to a nice low level. Beautiful! In terms of dimming, be sure you use a good-quality modern dimmer, one that supports LED bulbs. The one I'm using, and which I recommend, is Lutron's CL Dimmer, model TGCL-153PH-IV. Also, it's important to adjust the dimmer's trim control to the lowest level, per Toggled's web site. That noticeably reduces the lowest brightness, without affecting the maximum output. Those folks who claim that they don't dim well are likely either using an old dimmer, and/or haven't adjusted the trim setting. And finally, note that the lowest achievable brightness is on the order of 30-40%. So if you're hoping for reducing them to a candlelight-esque level, like what some of the best screw-in LED bulbs offer, you might be disappointed. But for me, that level is such a huge improvement, that I'm happy with the result. In any case, these are one of only a few tube bulbs out there that are dimmable, and they work great. They're also a cinch to install. Highly recommended!

Awesome lights but installing you may need wire
Awesome lights after installing them. Had trouble installing because the wires in installation kit are 2in short. I cut wires as close to ballist like it said but still didn't have enough wire

Best light upgrade I have done.
This kit allows you to bypass your ballast on your fluorescent light. They are a direct connection. This means you connect them directly to 110 volts. This saves you more than the kits that keep your ballast in place. When I removed the ballast I felt how hot they get. That is just wasted energy. These LED lights are very cool to the touch and do not generate barely any heat. All the pigtails and connectors come in the box. There is also a link to a youtube video that shows you how to do the replacement. If you have 4 ft fluorescent tubes in your house you will love these. You get way more light and half the power consumption over fluorescent. A Win-Win... Oh I forgot the chemicals in the fluorescent tubes.

Cheaper than replacing the ballast and two fluorescent tubes.
I got these after my ballast went south for the winter and I got tired of flipping the switch on & off to turn on the overhead kitchen light. They were cheaper than two new bulbs and a ballast. They were easy to install following their instructions and reading other people’s comments, probably a 40 minute job. They are brighter than the old fluorescent tubes without being blindingly bright and give a great dispersal of the light with no dark patches. One of the few projects I’ve taken on that didn’t require three trips to the hardware store because everything I needed was included (except the tools).

It has a video for you to view for easier install.
I would have given it 5 stars across the board except for 1 thing. The wires on the ends need to be 3' long not 2'. My wires came out of the center of my existing light. The wires on the new ends were only 2 feet long. There was not enough slack to wirenut to my existing wires. I had to go get a 8" piece of 14/2 wire to complete my connection. Otherwise this is a very simple install. The lights are bright and work great. Looking forward to saving money. Don't forget to remove the ballast before install. !!!! Love this light.

Great retrofit LED bulbs
Good replacements for fluorescent bulbs in the existing fixtures in my garage. The fluorescent ballasts failed, and rather than replace I went with these LEDs. I had to rewire the fixture but it was very easy using the sockets included in this kit. Definitely brighter and whiter light than the original fluorescents.

This excellent LED tube is a jam
It is very difficult to find LED tubes that have these specs: - 4 feet, T8 socket - 5000K and dimmable - Direct wire, bypassing all the troubles of trying to work with ballasts - Plastic tubes, no more glass - Reasonable price I bought and wasted quite a few LED tubes because none work with the ballasts I have. So no more stupid ballast. I bought this product, did a bit of work to yank out 'em ballasts. Everything work to perfection. And with my dimmers! What a relief. Superior design - thanks to China again. Highly recommended.
