Can someone with small hands play this?

When playing a regular D whistle, you use the top pads of your fingers to cover the holes. And the holes are close enough together that folks with different hand sizes are able to play it easily. With the low D whistle, the instrument is much longer and it requires using your fingers in news ways to cover the holes. I am a woman with medium sized hands and it's a challenge to play the low D. But I love the sound and have decided that for me it's worth working on it. You used your fingers straightened out rather than curved as on the smaller whistle.

A little tough to reach all the holes but beautiful!

The lower holes are a bit tough to reach but the instrument sounds wonderful! Once you learn to cover the holes with the second joint of the fingers it works just fine. Wonderful!

Beautiful Sound.

This is my first low whistle, so I'm still making friends with it, but I think that we will soon be making beautiful music together. When playing any musical instrument, you must realize that the music is not in the instrument but in your head, your hands and your heart. The instrument is merely your interface with the world.
