This leash is very nice, as I have used it more the handle is getting softer and nicer in my hand. The thickness is just right to be strong but not heavy. I use this leash daily with our lab ( 80ib), it makes our walls so easy and enjoyable. This is a great functional purchase that will last you the life of your animal plus the next.

Excellent quality. Love good tack! It’s a pretty good thickness. The halter collar slip collar aspect is a little thicker than I had expected. But it definitely sends a message to my dog. Don’t fight me! As far as chew resistant, you would have to have pretty good chewing dog to make any dent in that lead, but I wouldn’t leave them alone with the lead long enough to see that happen. It is pretty thick. I’d say at least a 1/4” thick 1” wide strapping (think horse bridle). When I put this on my dog, she knows I mean business so I would say definitely send a message in the training world. Really glad we added it to our training supplies. I love the fact you can just throw it on you don’t have to buckle anything you just slide it over their head and it’s dog leash and collar built-in perfect.

Great product

My English Foxhound rescue is really good at slipping his neck out of traditional collars. So when I go walking I use this slip leash and am much more confident. You really can't beat the leather feel and look. And it has held up well so far (2+ months) even with a 70lb dog that likes to pull when other dogs are around. I have even used while he is trotting next to my bike (though perhaps the 6 foot one is a little short for this use case). I find the length to be perfect, keeping you in control, the dog able to feel the slightest movements of your hand, and it doesn't drag on the ground. Because this style works well, I have decided to get a regular wear martingale collar for his regular collar. For when I want to use a regular leash as well.

I'm a volunteer dog handler at a local shelter. I go through a couple of slip leads per year. In the past I've used the normal cord type slip leads which wear out and some dogs bite mostly through. I purchased one of these leads to see if it would be better. So far, I'm pleased with it. the flat leather is easier on the hands and the dog's neck than a round cord. Easy to hold in mid length when you want to walk a dog on short lead. It seems quite strong enough for even the largest of our dogs. Durability and bite resistance yet to be determined. UPDATE: After 2 -3 weeks of fairly hard use. The leather has held up well, with a couple dings from leash biters. The main problem is the stoppers which quickly become loose and don't stay put. I wish the manufacturer would use spring loaded stoppers like you find on other drawstring items. I have a couple cord type slip leads with spring loaded stoppers which work nicely. UPDATE: After 2+ months of use, I still like it. It has accumulated a lot of nicks from the leash biters, but none that are close to biting through. This appears to be really good quality leather like used on horse tack. I used zip ties to tighten up the stoppers and this seems to be working OK. UPDATE: After 10 months of use, it's time to replace it. The nicks are getting to the point where it might break with enough force. The zip ties work fairly well and can be tightened up as necessary. This lead has lasted longer than any others before so I will be getting another one.

Great slip lead. We were looking for something that didn't have the bungee recoil and this is just a straight standard leash.

One of my most favorite leashes, and I have about a dozen leashes of all different materials and styles. I appreciate the flat lay. The leather allows me to correct /control/signal in a more timely manner than fabric leashes. Does not burn your hand if a dog "pulls thru". Use on XL dogs ( curs and rotties)

Very sturdy and great looking slip leash

This is my Go-to lead the trainer warned me off it, because it's a little stretchy. But as I don't pop, pull, yank, or otherwise put pressure on the lead, it works great for me. my dog loves it! I was a little concerned at first that the O ring scratched the leather, but it's not affected the integrity of the product, so I'm not fussing. It's supple, comfortable to hold, and strong enough to walk my 85lb Lab. With two leather "stoppers" on the lead, you can set it to the size you want. I don't believe for a second that those leather stoppers would prevent a puller from choking themselves, so I don't recommend this lead for pullers. If you're looking for a training lead and you plan to use pops, or leash pressure to train....probably not this lead. It is stretchy, and won't give you that snap you're looking for to make your dog listen. For my dog, who responds beautifully to any slight change in the position of the leash on his neck to tell him where I'm going- It's exactly what I want in a lead. I love it, and intend to purchase another
