This mouse disconnects from my Surface Pro every 20ish minutes of use. Is this a common issue, and does anyone know how to fix it?

This is was worked for me, go to control panel. Under system without clicking on it there should be device manager which will open up a window with a list of your devices. Find your Bluetooth adapter and double click. In that windows go to the power management tab and uncheck the box that allows the computer to shut the adapter off to conserve power and click ok. I hope this helps.

Is this mouse compatible with my new Macbook Air?

It's a Bluetooth mouse, so it's subject to your Macbook's system specs. If it has Bluetooth, it will work. Otherwise, you'll have to get a Bluetooth dongle that's compatible with your laptop for it to work.

Will this mouse work with HP Chromebook?

If the chromeboom has blutooth it should. My father has the Samsung chromebook and I know a USB wireless mouse works with that, so this should work.

Does it have any button/gesture for forward and backward when navigating web pages?

It has just the 3 buttons, Left, Right, and a middle that acts similar to a wheel on a wheel mouse. The center button/pad allows for scrolling up / down or left / right by swiping your finger across it like a touch pad. I am not aware of any additional functions to advance forward or backwards.
