Question 1

How are bitter & toxic saponins removed from quinoa before rolling into flakes? Rinsing? Double rinsing? Steaming?

Accepted Answer

Hi there!
Thank you for your inquiry.

To retain quinoa’s nutritional richness, we only pass the seeds through minimal processing. Before they are rolled into soft flakes, quinoa seeds are first organically cleansed, and then their outer coating, which contains saponins, is removed.

We hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions at support@herbazest.com.
