Bell Powersports Qualifier Motorcycle Helmets

Very nice helmet. Fits well, though I up-sized slightly "off chart" after trying one on locally. Interior padding is very comfortable. The photochromatic shield is amazing. It really does work wonderfully reacting to lighting conditions, and never fogs (to clarify, I got the Qualifier DLX Mip, though the listing currently shows Gloss Black as the standard Qualifier). I questioned the worth of the breath deflector, but after removing it to try riding without it I've been convinced. It really does work. All in all, a very nice helmet at a very reasonable price. Worth the price difference for the DLX vs standard Qualifier just for the light sensitive shield, but it also includes Mips safety, breath deflector, and chin dam.

it was a nice helmet but too small

I bought this helmet and it was awesome! Light weight, comfortable and it just looked really cool! Only problem was I ordered the wrong size. Sent it back and was issued a refund and bought the right size. The air vents lets u adjust the amount of air u want flowing through while u ride. DOT certification is also a big plus. Bell has been around for a long time and they make quality stuff! Definitely worth the money. If ur thinking of the 2x go ahead and grab the 3x as they fit snug.

I have had three Qualifier helmets and they have all been loud, but this is the loudest. Vents open or closed. Does not matter. First ride gave me a brutal headache, but that is all it took to break it in. No problems with comfort since. Glad I rode again as otherwise it would have gone back. It was the best option to me in matt black in this price range. Otherwise I would be getting a 6-$700 lid. With cancer that is pointless. You get value with Bell, durability and better protection that others in this class. The size is true through all of bell helmets. It is a helmet and does look big, but some are better at hiding the size and this sorta kinda pulls it off. Give it a try for yourself. I did add an after market blue shield, which doesn't fit perfectly but hasn't ripped off either. That is priceless. So much better than the smoked I have always used. The reflective surface really adds additional sun protection I had not expected. I'll never go back to smoked. They do scratch though, so being careful is a pain. But worth it.

I’ve been riding for over 30 years, this means I’ve had all kinds of helmets. I’ve owned helmets that were close to a grand, and some that were less than a hundred. This helmet is superb quality, exceptional comfort right out of the box (required no break in time for me), and packed full of features. There’s a laundry list of pros here: the auto tint visor (takes a few seconds, and gets as dark as any normal tinted visor - not quite dark enough for me to ditch my shades though), the comfort is extra plush, internals are super easy to remove and install my Cardo comm system, safety features built into the shell, it’s fairly quiet, with reasonable air flow, overall the helmet is packed full for this price. I’ve seen this model at my local dealership for just under $500… so I’m living proof that it pays to shop around. Cons: no quick detach on the strap, visor doesn’t get dark enough to ditch my shades… other than these two nit-picky items I’m in love with this helmet… seriously. Only other note I have is to try to find one local to try on before you buy. I’m glad I did, I know I would’ve bought my typical size but after trying one on I bought a size larger. This helmet gets 5 stars from me.

Comfortable and affordable- great helmet

I thought it was too tight at first. After wearing it a little, it broke in just right. About as comfortable as a full helmet can be, I guess. They're all hot, heavy, and constrictive. But it's better than having your face ripped off. A helmet probably won't save your life. But it will allow you to have an open casket funeral. Nice quality. The face opening wraps around far enough that I can see behind me reasonably well when I turn my head. I couldn't get my glasses on with this helmet. I cut the ear pieces off of one pair and just slip them on. The padding in the helmet is tight enough against my cheeks to hold the glasses in place. I only need them at night. I may cut a pair of cheap sunglasses the same way for daytime riding. It will be cheaper than purchasing a tinted shield at $139.00.

PROS: -Fits great! Tight around the cheeks but not painful anywhere around my head, just as a helmet should be. -Awesome look. The matte black and overall shape make this helmet way sexier to look at than most of the way pricier options on the market. -The easiest visors to pop off and clean I have ever used. CONS: -There are 3 separate front vents, two on the top of the helmet, one for the mouth. These work well, however there isn't any sort of mesh or fabric behind them to stop particles or bugs from flying straight through! Opening a vent literally just creates a giant hole in your helmet that you can peer directly through, so even bee sized bugs can go right through it. Even cheap off brand helmets typically have some sort of mesh behind the vent covers. However, the rear vents have mesh, why not put it on the front!? -LOUD! I'm comparing this to a Bilt helmet and another off brand helmet, both of which can be bought new for <$100. This helmet sounds at least twice as loud to me even at road speeds, to the point where I even wear earplugs now while riding in town.

This is a very good quality helmet. It feels firm and strong, but it scratches more easily than I expected.

I thought the liners were too tight, but I washed them a couple of times after long rides and the helmet fits like a glove. Stick to the sizing chart and give it some break-in time.

Everything was perfect except visor was not tinted as advertised.
