Nutricost Casein Protein Powder 5lb Chocolate - Micellar Casein, Gluten Free, Non-GMO

I’ve been using Nutricost Casein Protein Powder for about six months now, and it has become a steady part of my daily routine. The taste is surprisingly good for a casein protein, and it mixes much smoother than most I’ve tried. I like taking it at night because it keeps me full and helps curb late-night snacking, and I’ve noticed better muscle recovery the next morning. It’s also easy on the stomach — no bloating or heaviness. Overall, this is a high-quality casein at a very fair price, and I’ll definitely keep buying it.

Our all-time favorite casein protein powder (we rarely do whey protein--don't like the texture and we've had great results with this slow-burning protein) was Dymatize Elite Casein in the "rich chocolate" flavor. Absolutely delicious and fantastic consistency. BUT, for anyone health-minded, looking at the ingredient label was hard to stomach. Lots of fillers and especially the presence of ingredients known to be bad for gut health (e.g., Xanthan Gum). At the end of the day, yes, they both have sucralose (another name for Splenda) in them, but the ingredients in this product are far more appealing (and simple) than those in the Dymatize. Ideally I'd love to see an option which used say monkfruit + allulose as the sweetener. As far as "clumpiness" this mixes really well. You just have to know what you're doing with casein protein powders in general in order to mix it smooth. We use a Ninja Bullet blender for our protein shakes and it works great. Very smooth and creamy result. It's also pretty mixable and smooth and creamy just with enough water. The less water you use the thicker it'll be. I've tried MANY protein powders and if you don't like this one I'm not sure if you'll find any that you do like. I'm very picky about taste and texture and relative healthiness of ingredients, and for me this is (on the whole) about the best you can do. Plus it's actually about as affordable as they get. Some of these protein powders are insanely pricely (looking at you Dymatize). So this is a great combination: it's an affordable and effective and tasty protein powder.

Good protein powder to drink before bed. Do not mix with milk! It make lumpy and too thick, only mix with water it all you need for this. I use a scoop with water before bed to help with the gain weight and it working well. Tastes fine, mixes well with water and use more or less depend on how thick you like. I like it a little thicker, so it fill up belly a little more and keep me satiate not wake up in middle of night hunger and raid fridge and eat something I probably shouldn't. If you try to put on weight it good to have this before bed, for me it help great, I have putting on weight slower which is better than put on weight too fast and gain mostly fat, and if you not the type that can just eat all day, maybe try this and have a couple shakes between meal to get in the calories and protein. So if you lift heavy enough and frequent enough, but still having tough time putting on weight, try have this shake before bed to help muscle recover and grow. And can't beat the price! Very good value. Thumbs up. Get some gains!

I’ve been really impressed with this casein protein from Nutricost. The chocolate flavor is smooth and not overly sweet, which makes it easy to drink regularly without getting tired of it. It mixes well with both water and milk and doesn’t leave a gritty texture like some other casein proteins I’ve tried. One of the biggest benefits is how filling it is. Since casein digests slowly, it works great as a nighttime protein shake or when I need something to keep me satisfied between meals. I’ve noticed it helps curb late-night snacking and keeps me feeling full longer.

In my opinion, probably the best tasting, most cost efficient Casein based protein powder. It's great for feeding your muscles overnight. I'd rather have chocolate goat milk, but that's not always possible.

I bought this for the non-GMO which is important and no soy. I had been using another brand that did not use sucralose and grass fed. The flavor was not that strong. I decided to try Nutricost chocolate. The chocolate flavor is good however I am experiencing digestive issues probably from the sucralose? Never mind really. I tried the grass fed isolate that did not have sucralose or hormone and it was not good. Clumpy which isolate is not supposed to be and wicked salty. There are other better grass fed proteins out there.

I like it. If you are an experienced protein drink user you may know about this. All the milk solids taken out of whey protein is in this powder. It has a grittiness you won't find in the smoother whey powders. But for some, texture isn't a turn off, we are after the effects of it rather than esthetics. It keeps me feeling full and feeds you over a longer stretch of time than whey protein. This takes awhile to digest. It helps me cut meals out and not get hungry for quite awhile. It tastes like chocolate. Is it like chocolate powders you had as a kid? No. This isn't that sweet or smooth, not even close. But, it's not meant to be. If what I describe isn't for you, buy the whey. Do your research on casein before buying either way. This is a top brand to me, more for less $.

Doesn't mix well. Has a chalky texture. Also the box had a Prop 65 warning on it, so whatever is in here is not the safest. I stopped using it and wouldn't recommend.
