To be honest, that is all it does. I turn it on and am immediately bombarded by ghost trying to contact our side. Like we get it Harold it wasn't an accident and Mrs. Haversham was responsible but can I get a second to analyze some frequencies. My unit may be a defective unit.

Does it demodulate the signal so you can listen to the signal either from the computer or standalone unit?

No it does not. It will simply show all the frequencies that are being used for a given frequency range and their signal strength. It is not an actual receiver.

Good for detecting 5g ?

The unit I ordered is limited to the 2.4Ghz ISM band and sub-Ghz cellular bands. Don't know if the company makes a 5G version. Also the device works very well for my use and is unusually accurate for a handheld device.

Will it detect leakage from telephone poles and from a ham radio shack in the ham radio bands 1.8MHz and up?

Hello, This unit will measure frequencies between 240-960 MHz, and 2.35-2.55 MHz. It will display it in MHz, and signal strength. If you are looking for RF leakage you may want to use an EMF Meter. I would recommend the Latnex AF-5000 All In One EMF Meter. I hope that this helps.
