Yes, you are correct the back HDMI will be blocked and actually becomes disabled on that model once docked along with the rear USB ports. Once you dock your laptop you would have to either use Displayport or DVI for a digital signal like HDMI from the docking station.

I am in united states and have a dell latitude e7270. is this compatitble and should i order the 130watt or 240watt?

Will this work with latitude e5470?

According to Dell, it will connect with any of the Latitude e-series notebooks. I tested it with an e5550. The connecting port on the e5550 (and many other e-series models) is located near the display hinge. As such, the dock is poorly designed for supporting the weight of the notebook and wastes a lot of desk space. According to Dell, the dock was originally designed to support notebook models that have connecting ports located near the center of the bottom of the notebook bottoms. Ask your vendor if you can try one and return it for full refund if it does not meet with your approval.

Is this the dell part# 331-6304 dell eport plus advanced port replicator with usb 3.0? if so, why does dell website show mfg part# as gnphp not gnphd

GNPHP may be a newer revision than GNPHD, the units we have do have 2x usb 3.0 ports at the rear of the dock.
