Relatively Easy Setup
I've only just set the printer up and tested it so this review is mainly about the setup. None of the computers I installed it on have CD/DVD drives so I had to download the driver from the website address given in the instructions. My satellite internet is relatively slow lately, probably due to increased internet traffic related to Covid-19, and downloading the nearly half gigabyte driver file was the longest part of the installation. I followed the quick guide instructions to set up the printer hardware....loaded paper, plugged in the printer, installed the ink cartridges, and followed the instructions on the printer control panel. My first attempt to download the Windows 10 64 bit driver with Firefox failed with just 5 MB left on the download. I switched to Chrome and the file downloaded without a hitch. The only other setup hitch was on the first installation, my desktop. The setup software didn't find the printer. After making sure the printer wireless was turned on the setup software still could not find the printer. This problem was resolved by using the setup wizard from the printer control panel. It found my wireless network and once I entered the password connected almost immediately. From that point I followed the instructions on the setup software and everything went smoothly. I was asked if I wanted to download the iPrint and iScan software and I chose yes. I declined sending Brother diagnostic information. Finally the setup software looked for and installed the latest driver update. That was followed by a printer update that didn't work because the software indicated the printer was offline. I ignored this and closed the window and test printed a photo and document. I printed the photo on plain paper and it was an excellent reproduction of the image as it looked on my computer screen. It's worth noting that once you finish the setup on the printer itself, before installing the printer driver, the printer automatically prints a test page and instructions for installing the software. The print quality of the instructions is not high and it looks like something from an old dot matrix printer. Don't be alarmed. When I printed a document from the computer the print quality was excellent and just what I expected from a quality inkjet printer. I next installed the driver on two Windows 10 laptops. I copied the file I downloaded to my desktop onto a USB memory stick. I copied the file from the USB stick to the download directory on each laptop and double clicked on the file. The file extracted the setup software and began the setup. The setup went off without a hitch. The computers had no problem recognizing the printer. For these two computers I declined installing the iPrint and iPhoto software. I tested this software on my desktop and while it worked fine I didn't find it to be necessary for my purposes. It would be useful for those who want to print photos and documents without having to use separate image editing or word processor software like Photoshop or Word. As with my desktop, after installing the latest software update the setup software said the printer was offline and didn't install a printer update. I again just closed that window and ran test prints. I didn't time the laptop installations but I'd guess I completed each one in 5 to 10 minutes.

So far so good!
9/2020 Edited: going strong! We are in a pandemic so I am working from home, printing more often, and this is a GREAT printer, still tons of ink left, high quality printing. I highly recommend: I hated my last two printers but this is a great printer. After a few years of frustration about the tiny amount of ink in each cartridge, combined with the ridiculous costs from Epson (most recently) and HP (before that), I decided to change my printer instead of spending another $70 on ink that wouldn't' last long, with the hope of reducing the need to spend a lot of money on ink that seemed to run out every time I hit "print". I don't print that much - occasional work from home documents, my daughter's homework every now and then, etc. so I didn't need anything fancy. I found reviews of this machine on PCMag.com and what sold me was that the cost per page, and the number of pages listed for a cartridge of ink, made me think I'd be happier with this machine. That fact that it is advertised as including a year's worth of ink makes me think that if that is, indeed, true, then I saved a ton of money over the space of a year by buying ink+machine rather than just replacing my ink cartridges in the Epson (again!). Set up was easy - just hit "next". My computer doesn't have a CD drive but downloading the driver from Brother was no big deal; easy to find and worked just fine. I printed a photo as a test, and the quality is quite good, with no lines on it, and edge to edge coverage on an 8.5x11 piece of paper. I used my phone to print, and it couldn't have been easier. I have a work Windows machine (a nice Dell laptop) and a home Windows machine (a horrible Acer laptop that I regret purchasing) and installation of the software was easy on both. No calls to customer service, and it didn't take long, and I didn't have to trouble-shoot, it just installed exactly the way I expected it to. The real test of whether it holds up to my 5 star review will be how long the initial cartridges last: cost per page/large capacity ink cartridges are the two reasons I chose this machine. I am hopeful that this machine is the bargain that I hoped it would be, and that I'm just as happy a year from now as I am today. So far, so good!

Requires regular maintenance / wifi printing failure
This printer puts out good documents but after having it for only six weeks it suddenly started printing blank pages after working fine just the day before. I printed from multiple devices and got the same result even after ensuring I had the latest drivers. When that didn't work I ran a print head cleaning job and that got the colors working but not black. After running another strong nozzle cleaning for black the printer finally started working again after a good hour of fooling around. How many times did I have to clean the print head in the Canon printer I had for ten years that this replaced? ZERO. I have no confidence that this Brother will go ten years but that's pretty much how nearly every product is these days. I do not recommend purchasing this product. UPDATE: Just a couple of weeks later and now I'm having trouble with wifi printing. It is set up and connected to the network correctly and was working fine until one day it just stopped printing from any devices we tried. Ultimately, we can now print using a direct wifi connection to the printer but it requires the users to disconnect from the wifi network and connect directly to the printer's wifi network to print then switch back again to keep working on the net. Ridiculous. I've lowed my rating to one star and will certainly never purchase a Brother product again. This printer is terrible. Do not waste your money on it. SECOND UPDATE: Nine months after purchasing this printer it has stopped working completely. It gives a message to clear a paper jam but there is no paper jam at all. After checking over every square inch of it and even putting in a new ink cartridge it simply doesn't work. I will never buy another Brother product.

It's so awesome to be able to send print commands from your PC, laptop, phone, etc... we live in the future!!! Using the super high yield ink cartridges also saves us $$$.

Es un excelente producto y la calidad de impresión es muy buena, el único defecto es que su tinta no es de tanque y como sabemos, el costo de los cartuchos es alto.
