We are gathered here today to honor a badge holder that truly held its own. Purchased in August of 2019, this badge holder showed up ready for work. A little larger than expected, it came with a twin that was assigned to someone else. But this one stayed with me. Through covid. Through return to office. It was there, day in and day out, three to five days a week depending on policy. It never complained. It was ever capable, offering to assist in opening bottles or opening specifically M6 Hex Nuts for some reason, but it's primary duty was the constant, multiple times per day pay out and retraction of a plastic coated fine steel cable. It kept my badge close, and by that, all of my coworkers safe. It was a survivor. I've seen many badge holders come and go, but this one stayed with me longer than any other, regardless of what hours I worked or when I needed it. It survived an automobile accident without a scratch. In fact, it's only issue was the one it exhibited today... At approximately 3:15pm, October 15th 2025, this badge holder paid out its last reel. In moving to open a door, the cable had become worn, and retracted back prematurely, my badge still held out in front of me for the door. I was shocked. I was in disbelief. My long time companion's life suddenly cut short, unexpectedly. It made me wonder: Our badge holders hold our badges for us day in, day out. But who holds them? Maybe hold yours close today. Five stars. Would buy again.

I’ve been using these for many years now. I’ve purchased them for myself and my co workers. They eventually wear and need to be replaced, but that’s to be expected with a retractable (moveable) mechanism. It works well and is definitely worth the price.

These are nice keychains but with use the retractable part does break...they last a good 4-5monts with daily use

So I bought these in April of 2021. Had them both until October 2021. They are good and have lasted a while of moderate use. No swinging them around or playing with them. Not letting my kids have a field day with them. Just moderate use for my work access card. Ones I’ve had in the past sucked. The string frayed and eventually broke. These ones have great sturdy cables. They are sturdy. They are good only for so long. Was hoping to get more time with them. The bad thing is too; that they both broke around the same time. Eventually the first one after using into October, just stop reeling back up. The second one was put away and never used until the other one failed. This was had started or stopped reeling in all the way. Eventually it got caught on something and ripped out of the case. Not really the fault of anyone on that. So I would recommend this for someone who has issues with cheap ones. For someone who needs to badge into a facility quite often might need to stock up on these or just keep searching.

Good keychain. Easy to use

Seems very durable, should last a long time. With the big clip attached to a belt loop it is a good retractable connection for my keys. For my work badges the clip makes this too long; I took that clip off and attached the retractable spool directly to my lanyard.

First class quality of the material, the retraction force is just right. The carabiner is a bit fuzzy to use on normal leather belts, but ok.
