T-fal TT7461 Avante Deluxe 4-Slice Toaster with Bagel Function, Black

We love our 4 slice toaster which is also wide enough for bagels and other thick pastries. The settings work well, so our toast or English muffin comes out perfect. I love the way I can move it back on the counter and because it's tilted towards you, it's an easy reach to get your item out of the toaster. It also has a lever you can push to make the item move up higher for easier retrieval. Highly recommend!

The Good: This toaster works well. It defrosts well. It toasts fairly evenly. I like the feature that allows you to pop the item up further if it is too short to get out easily. I like the button for emergency pop-up. The Bad: This toaster gets really hot. If you want to put it under cupboards be prepared to pull the toaster out from under them to use it--unless you want warped undersides and have a fire extinguisher handy. Also, the slots are not wide enough for the wide types of bread. I tried cutting the edges off, but the toast curled and burned. I tried turning the bread on its side, but It didn't toast the whole piece(this is the main reason I will be returning it). The Ugly: It is really BIG, which is probably why it gets too hot for use under the cupboards. Conclusion: If you have the counter space and use "standard" size bread, I recommend this toaster. If not, don't buy it.

I would recommend this toaster to anyone. First, the ONLY drawback is it is a bit larger than most (larger "footprint). But it fits very nicely in the corner of a counter. It has easy cleanup, with nice slideout bins under both sides. Toasts nicely and quickly. Even has a defrost setting which is nice (although I rarely use this). The center levers pop the toast up out of the toaster nicely so you don't have to "dig" although the slots are so nice and wide, it's easy to get toast out. I love the bagel setting, FINALLY I don't have to SQUISH my bagels to toast them (or drag out my much larger toaster oven!). Also, I like the wide opening to insert your bread, even when you don't have it on "bagel" setting...the plates just close around the bread once you begin the toasting...very nice, especially when you have curled bread! The temperature setting knobs are great and I love the pusbutton in the middle of each to pop your toast up early if you like. The temperature settings seem to be quite consistent, which I've never found in a regular "older fashioned" 2-slice toaster. It looks very nice and modern on my counter and matches my stainless steel and black appliances beautifully. I used to "hide" my other toaster in the cupboard, but this one deserves a place on the counter. Once you see it in person, and try it, I know you'll like it. Very good quality. And the two SEPARATE operational sides were very well thought out. Sometimes you don't need FOUR slices toasted and sometimes you do! Overall, EXCELLENT, and recommended. It's worth the price, especially if you get free shipping with Amazon!

I've never had a toaster before, but I've had plenty of toaster-ovens. After we accidentally torched our last toaster-oven by keeping taco shells in it too long we tried a cheap toaster-oven which actually failed to toast. And here I was thinking toaster-oven technology is so simple and well-known they wouldn't be able to screw it up. So my wife convinced me to try a toaster, and we got this on seeing as it's somewhat mid-priced (no more budget appliances for me!) and it has several cool features - the high-lift lever and the bagel setting. As previous reviewers note, toasting a bagel on only one side makes all the difference. And of course, it just looks cool. We're hipper now that we own it and get invited to a lot more parties. I don't have anything bad to say about it.

We have had this toaster for a couple of years now, and were happy with it. I did a ton of research before I bought this model due to the short life span of many other toasters we've had over the years, and some over $100. I purchased a second avante model for our summer home as well. Up until recently the toaster functioned quite well, but lately it has stopped toasting on one side in the left slot, and has completely stopped working in the right hand slot. The toaster won't allow me to push down the lever on the right side at all, it will toast if I hold it down manually, but who has time for that? Not sure what has occurred with it. I've researched again, but see alot of issues with many other models, so I will likely order another T-Fal Avante again. Yes, we do have issues with the toast flying out onto the floor occasionally with both toasters, but I keep clean floors and we usually laugh about it. Apart from that, my only beef is that the warranty is only one year. I'd like to see a two year warranty on this product.

I first hesistated in purchasing this toaster because I could not see the pics and wasn't sure how the stainless steel looked and was also concerned about the black plastic. After I saw a pic from the 2 slice toaster I decided to buy it. I am glad I did. This toaster is beautiful AND big. I am familiar with T-fal because I had an avant from about 7-10 years ago and only stopped working because one day I had a bright idea to clean it with water. BIG mistake dont do. Lol. I was gifted this toaster 13 years ago when my husband and I got married. At the time it was a great toaster so when it finally gave out a few months ago I insisted that we replaced the toaster with the same one...so I bought the same one as a replacement.....Wow has this product gone way downhill!!!! The first thing I noticed was the handles, the metal, and material we're of way less quality. They'd all just had a sort of a cheap feel as opposed to the one I owned 13 years ago which at the time every piece of it felt like a quality well-thought-out piece. The materials aren't the only thing that sucks on this toaster. Thee toasting sucks on this thing too.!!!!Completely uneven toasting ...I'm talking burned on part of it not toasted at all on another part of the bread. when the toaster is done it literally throws the bread out of the toaster slot onto the counter. Very disappointed, not at all worth the money. used to be a great product, is no longer a great product. Take my word for it not worth the money.

My last toaster was a Presto with a single very long and wide slot. Cool to the touch. Toasted evenly. Didn't take up much space. Lasted over 25 years. If my sample of this toaster is any guide....perhaps it is not...toasters have regressed, not improved. First what I like. Four slots are handy,and it has a feature that perhaps all toasters have nowadays....ya can't push down the toasting lever if the toaster is not plugged in. (a mistake I made now and then with the Presto). And personally I like the industrial look. A word of caution.It is pretty bulky for a toaster....pay attention to the measurements. Parts of the exterior get hot. No need to touch those parts, but be careful. And as another reviewer mentioned, while the slots are wide they are also very shallow. No deeper than a standard piece of packaged bread. If you have an elongated piece to toast,either store bought or home made, you are going to have to cut it in half. Now that very limited depth would knock it down to 3 starts for me....what sent it to two was the way mine toasts. VERY unevenly,and that is true of all four slots. To the point where for one side of a simple piece of bread to get crisp but untanned the other side gets very brown. I do not know if I just received a bad sample, or if that is some deliberate and popular style of toasting nowadays. But I don't like it. Should have returned it but it arrived at a very busy time and it just didn't seem worth the hassle. May donate it to the Purple Heart fairly soon and look elsewhere. PS just read dozens of amazon reviews for many different brands of toaster.... Virtually all of them work fine for some people, very unevenly for others. WHY IN THE WORLD is it so hard to find a good basic, consistently good toaster nowadays??? Since they all work well for some, I can only assume component quality control is horrendously erratic in the industry and within each model.
