After over 5 million albums sold in the US, Slipknot returns with their most powerful statement yet- "All Hope Is Gone." Filled with the fury people have come to expect from Slipknot as well as some extraordinary suprises, this album is the culmination of the band's 9 unique members, 3 platinum albums and their 10 year journey at the top of the Hard Rock genre. The album is a cohesive statement about the world today and truly cements the band as on of Rock's heavyweights. This is the explicit version. Review: An excellent album.Go get it if you love the Knot - This is a review for the special edition cd/dvd with 3 bonus songs. The album itself is a mixed bag of melody and rage, buzzsaw guitars and lots of heavy drumming & precussion. The samples and turntables are toned down a bit on this album,Corey's voice is on point. Mixing some of the oldschool hardcore aggressive vocals and then the more melodic songs and vocals. The heaviest tracks being(in my opinion) Gematria:The Killing Name,Vendetta,Butcher's Hook,This Cold Black,Wherein Lies Continue & All Hope is Gone. The more melodic more tame songs are the singles,Sulfer,Dead Memories,Psychosocial and Gehenna is a mix of both heavy and melodic just like Snuff(the most mellow of songs but hauntingly beautiful. Excellent guitar work, the bass is laid on thick and heavy, excellent drums and precussions. Now to the bonus songs, Child of Burning Time is a mellow track kinda reminiscent of Stonesour. Vermilion Pt.2(Bloodstone Mix) that i actually enjoyed & i'm not a huge fan remix but this one i enjoyed. Til' We Die is my favorite of the 3 bonus songs it is mellow but excellent guitars and vocals. Now to the dvd portion, the dvd isn't really that special but it was nothing major. You don't get to hear anything from the band giving their opinion of the album or talking to the camera. I would have expected a bit more, like some interview footage. They blurred out Craig Jones face(#5) but you can still see it. You get too see them push a car and light fireworks. Then they show Sid(#0) with his mask mold and then you see Corey(#8) in the vocal booth. About 1-2 minutes of each member messing with their gear and laying down notes. Then you see them wkimg with the big heads from the Psychosocial video and it is only 32 minutes long. Nothing special but the special edition i got for the extra songs. If you don't already have th album i'd suggest you get this(it was cheaper than the original) go get this album you'll enjoy it. Review: AWESOME CD! - AWESOME CD...Delivered IMMEDIATELY and Arrived in PERFECT CONDITION! AWESOME SELLER!!!

Killer !!!!
Where does Corey Taylor find the energy to carry 2 successful projects and make excellent music on both sides of the fence? Along with touring? Who knows, but I must say, this CD is full of energy. He gives a great vocal performance and the band brought the speed, anger, energy and creativity again. Impressive. A bit more in the 'Iowa' vein speed wise on the heavy tracks. But not a 'forced' heavy. There are still the tidbits of melody and a couple more accessible tracks like those that made Vol. 3 so good, but for the most part this is an audio assault! Production wise it doesn't get much better. Crystal clear without that in your face heavy sound many CD's today have (Metallica for one). The only real throwout on this is the track 'Dead Memories' which just sounds out of place. At least the chorus. Cries out 'single wanna be'. Doesn't work for me. Skip that one. 'Butchers Hook' is average. 'Snuff' isn't perfect. Very Stone Sour with an excellent vocal performance, just doesn't really fit in terms of flow, with the other songs on the disc. I will say it is a good song though, just is better on its own or on a SS disc. But as far as the good: There is the track 'Gehenna' which is very, very old school Korn sounding, I mean big time, but it is an excellent track of pure atmosphere. Nice.. 'Wherein Lies Continues' has a different, sludgy sound with a nice chorus. A different style for the band structure wise. A really good track that goes from heavy to a catchy chorus without sounding horrible as 'Dead Memories' does.. "Sulfer' is a great track that is probably the best song and the closest to their core sound. Energy and melody in perfect amounts. "Gemetria', 'This Cold Black' and the title track are pure mayhem, in the Iowa vein but more structured. The Drums are also high in the mix on this disc giving the songs an extra kick in the as*! Jordison gives another excellent performance throughout, but especially on the faster tracks. The drum emphasis on the heaviest tracks cant be denied and really give the songs structure. The missing element on 'Iowa'. As a Slipkont fan of all 3 discs, I would say this is a great follow up to Vol. 3. Much heavier than I expected. Any previous or current fan should have this. The band is staying true and sound-wise, this CD is crisp and clear. Must say its better than I thought it would be. One of 2008's best discs. If you dont like it, your not listening.

All I Hoped for, and then some.
A stunning return to form by the crew. After a blistering debut album, Slipknot didn't achieve the highs of that record with their next offerings. Although each was a good album, none had been able to rival that debut record, until now. This album offers it all, the blistering drum attacks that have become a trademark. Slamming guitars and percussions to make your head fall off from moshing. Then the growling, snarling and spitting vocals we've come to know and love. This album also offers some more melodic numbers so we can all marvel at the sweet sounding singing voice behind the snarl of norm. This album has the hook lines that'll keep you humming songs days after you last listened. It has songs that you want to listen to over and over again. It has power to please those who want to listen to something heavy while having the melody many heavy music lacks. I won't say this album is better than their debut, but its definitely on a par. Buy it.
