What is new in this new version compared to older version of Ooma adapter listed at 109.99 on Amazon?

I own the old model only, and have been using it for over 3 years now. Ooma Support said they both have the same functionality. The new one came out on January 24, 2014 and has a lower profile. Its dimension is 5.5 x 2 x 7.5 inches, while the old model dimension is 8.9 x 3 x 8.3 inches. I also notice the old model has 11 touch keys while the new model has 6.Both old and new models have very high user rating.  Very strange, the old model costs more than the new one on Amazon! Can I keep my current phone number?

Yes. You will need to "port" your current phone number over to your Ooma account. Ooma will take care of all the necessary paperwork after you fill out the details after purchasing the equipment. This is all done online. The porting cost is $39.00+tax and takes no more than 3 weeks. Do Not cancel your current land line and number until the port is completed. Ooma will give you a number to use during this process. I'm very pleased with the service thus far.

Question 3

I run a Bed & Breakfast & do not want guests to be able to make toll calls- 900's, International, collect etc.  Can toll calls be blocked?

I have the Telo, and if you don't subscribe to an international plan and don't fund your prepaid calling account then it is not possible to make international or 411 calls.  Thankfully, Ooma does not support 900 numbers or phone chat services.  Therefore, it is good for someone who wants to keep a tight control over their residential phone bill.   Ooma also has an Ooma Office product for small businesses.  The Telo is designed for residential use.

i have a wall set plugged into a jack and three other units plugged into regular wall electrical outlets. what is necessary to keep all these phones

It depends on whether you are using DSL for your internet.  Most homes are wired for two lines.  If you have DSL, it has to be put on a different line so that it does not damage your Telo.  If you don't have DSL, then you can just disconnect the phone company's central office line in your junction box, and then plug the Telo into one of your phone jacks in order to provide a connection with all of the phones in the house.   Again, don't plug the Telo into the phone jack until the outside line has been separated.If your wall telephone transmits the phone line over your electrical wiring to the other phones or wirelessly, then you just need to plug the wall phone into the Telo. You then won't need to worry about connecting other phone jacks to the Telo. But, you will need to have the internet connection nearby.  Otherwise, you can buy a wireless adapter for WI-FI.
