I selected the EKO Mirage X 80L Motion Sensor Bin as a replacement for a previous model that, despite careful maintenance, ultimately failed due to the plastic sensor panel cover. This new bin demonstrates a clear improvement in both durability and design. The 80L capacity is highly practical for both residential and commercial settings, while the motion sensor ensures fully hands-free operation with consistent reliability. The soft-close lid operates smoothly, and the stainless steel construction combines durability with a sleek, modern aesthetic that complements any environment. Looks like a nice sturdy bin but time will tell. There is no inner lining bucket, so any leaks from bin-juice will go straight into the bin, which in my experience has caused rusty mark to appear before, so that may be a potential flaw. There is an inner plastic hoop to fold the bin bag over so that it doesn't show on the outside of the bin, and it looks sturdy, unlike my last one which has a flimsy bit that you lifted up on each side to fold the bag over, that eventually broke. This looks to be solid. It takes 4 x AA batteries, that battery compartment is kind of hard to open with a little twist button thing, hopefully it doesn't fail. The 80L bin is really big, should fit a lot of rubbish in it. It arrived with a bit of a scratch on the front near the logo so a bit disappointed in that. Also, it is covered with the obligatory horrible labels everywhere which leave sticky marks, I've no idea why manufacturers continue to do this! Came with a "free" roll of bin bags. All in all, a nice bin, could do with some design improvements. Hopefully it wlil last as it's not cheap!

The EKO Mirage X 40L bin is one of my favourite things that I have bought in 2025. Every part of this bin is so well designed, easy to use and interacts so smoothly that is actually a pleasure to use. Also, the build quality is second to none and is really rich in features and design. I'm also really impressed that they manage to get the price so low, because although they are more expensive than most bin companies, they look very impressive - and where most bins would make a room look less attractive, these bins actually make a room look more aesthetically pleasing. Also, the packaging was really good - ensuring the bin arrived safely. Delivery was very fast, too. Thanks Amazon and EKO! Five Stars!

This is a superbly built sensor bin! I have had and used 3 other bins by different manufacturers, most last a year ish but the lid assembly looks and feels like it will continue to provide opening and closing for a considerable time. Everything is well sealed, opening and closing is quiet and the option to open and close “manually “ is so useful. The bin body in stainless steel is high quality and physically a convenient size.

Great bin, looks smart ...batteries last a good while, good opening mechanism which is quiet. I needed a slimline bin to fit a specific space so I will say the 2 compartments are handy if you don't have space for 2 bins but they are quite small..deep enough but a small opening. No good for large families with a lot of recycling. Pizza boxes, 2l bottles..forget it. The separate containers are different colours but when a bag is put in you can't tell which is which...turns out this is an issue for teenagers so get a label maker to mark what's recycling and even then be prepared to fish out food from the recycling or paper from general waste 🙄. Ps: for size reference my hand isn't big (average woman sized I reckon)

I did a lot or research into these types of hands free bins This one consistently came out on top. The price dropped during Black Friday to a reasonable price and I ordered 2 They look great, work efficiently, adequately house all our refuse odour free thanks to the in built housing for carbon filters and are of a high standard of materials I have not had to replace the batteries to date after 1 months constant use. Very happy with my choice.

Good quality product, lid opens and closes smoothly, no clunks, very quiet, sturdy material and product, looks very smart, sturdiness is a must and this has it in spades.

Fantastic bin, and a great price - much cheaper than on the Eco website. This is a large bin so measure carefully before ordering. I like the way the bin liner is completely hidden. Silent operation too. Steer clear of the Eco air fresheners for this bin though, overpriced and useless.

This product is First Class in everyway, Everyday I use it, I think best thing I ever purchased.

Easy to use and very practical

I do not recommend it. There are constant issues with opening and closing. I tried changing the batteries, but it still glitches very often.

This is exactly the trash can I wanted! It works perfectly and looks beautiful next to my kitchen. It stays clean and I just need to dust it occasionally.
