The best grip we've used by far. My daughter kept this grip on for her whole homework time, the very first time! I didn't have to nag at all. She even took it to go color all by herself! A truly awesome invention, I hope everyone who has been struggling with their child's grip will try this and find the relief that I have! All other grips (we've tried probably 4 other well-rated ones as well as the standard drug store ones) have been immediately tossed aside by my daughter because they were uncomfortable and difficult to use (which I had to agree with her). My daughter is 7 and we bought the medium, as suggested by the company, and they fit perfectly. Pros: Extremely comfortable, as close as it can get to really holding the pencil with your own fingers. Guides fingers perfectly. It automatically puts your fingers in the right grip without feeling forced. Easy to understand. Some grips are really confusing/complicated. My daughter used these without any instruction. Made in America! Flexible - can fit many different size pencils, pens, and crayons. Great customer service if you have a question. Affordable Cons: None By the way, I thought that I got some that were really for lefties since the cup marked "3" fit only on the 1st finger. But the "3" designates the size, they are truly for either hand. I wrote the company to ask, and here is the amazing, detailed response I received from the owner in less than a day: Thank you for your email. I am happy to hear you like the Writing CLAW. I purchased the company a year ago from the inventor in Michigan. I can explain the letter and numbering logic. The "T" on the bottom does represent the cup for thumb placement. The "1", "3", "5" on the another cup represent the size of the Writing CLAW. T-1 means Small, T-3 size is medium and T-5 sizing is Large. The Writing CLAW was designed for his best friends son who's is right handed. As the CLAW gained exposure and use by therapist and parents, it became clear the Writing CLAW could be used by left or right handed writers. The universal comes in to play as the same Writing CLAW can be used on a pen and then changed to a pencil. I am going to review the wording used on our site to make sure everything is clear regarding the lettering on the bottom as well as the use of the CLAW. On a side note, we have recently discovered that the Writing CLAW is now being made (copied) in China and sold on sites like Ebay. Please make sure when you purchasing a Writing CLAW you check to make sure it is not made of silicon and is clearly marked Made in the USA. TREMENDOUS help to my son's handwriting. He has Cerebral Palsy and his grip is weak, but the spasticity is likely to pull his hands away from where he wants them. This is the only grip that allows him to keep his hands on the pencil and apply pressure to the paper, increasing his control 100 fold. The rings are strong and I haven't had any break yet. They grip the pen/pencil nicely without slipping. The other kids in school and his sisters want to use them too, they're neat and novel looking. They won't be for everyone, but if your kid has a weak grip, trouble keeping focus on his/her hand and writing at the same time, this will really help keep things where they need to be. My daughter is also a little, um, "flighty", but it helps her too actually because when her brain goes "SQUIRREL" (See the movie "Up" for that reference...), her hand still stays in place and her writing looks smoother because of it. For the price, if you've been trying grips with no success, they're worth a shot!!

My son is 5 years old and struggles with holding his pencil properly for school work. I purchased this as a tool to help him. I found that it helped him be more aware of how he holds his pencil, his writing is not effected by it, and while he doesn't hate it, he doesn't love using it either. We've been using these for a couple of weeks and I think it's helped him improve his writing.

My son has had problems with his motor skills basically since he was born. He has really struggled since learning to write and these grips have been awesome! I've tried a few other grips, like the regular triangle ones, the The Pencil Grip, Universal Ergonomic Writing Aid, and the The Pencil Grip Crossover Grip Ergonomic Writing Aid and these ones have been the best for my little guy. He can still hold the pencil wrong with the other grips, but these ones are no-fuss, and your fingers are always in the correct place. I don't love how he has to take his fingers out when he needs to erase and put them back in, but I'll take that because they truly help him get a good grip (no pun intended) on the best way to hold the pencil. He also hasn't complained that these ones hurt his hand like he did with the other ones. These have truly helped my son's handwriting and hand strength.

These are NOT for lefties, despite being described as interchangeable with right and left hands. The finger pockets are each a different size and length. The thumb is wide and short, index is thin and short, middle finger is thin and long. This is because the correct finger grip is for your middle finger to rest below the pencil, sticking out further than the thumb and index finger, so the pocket needs to be longer to accommodate this. When you use it with the left hand, the index finger is now in the long pocket and middle finger in the short pocket, preventing the middle finger from properly extending. It's awkward and uncomfortable with the left hand when it feels normal with the right hand. To make these truly appropriate for a lefty, they need to be produced in the mirror image of what they are now. Any lefty who uses these and says they're fine is making a compensation that they shouldn't have to. Sure, you can "make it work," but make no mistake, it's not for left-handed writers. I'm disappointed because they looked like they would be great for my 5-year-old lefty, but they're not appropriate.

My son's first grade teacher is crazy about pencil grips, and she got these in a sample box. She had my son working with all sorts of grips and this was his favorite because you cannot cheat with them. The three little pockets are different shapes, and it's obvious where they are to put their thumb and then their first two fingers. then the whole thing is threaded over a pencil, as pictured. It seems weird until you see a kid use it and you realize how simply ingenious they are. She had received some as a sample package from a distributor, and when my son broke his, she didn't know how to replace them. Thank you Amazon, and The Pencil Grip Company for making these so accessible. We bought a couple of very inexpensive packs, keep one at home, and sent the others to school. He became quite popular overnight, as, apparently, these are every kid's favorite grip. My son's penmanship has improved greatly and he is becoming more natural in using the correct grip. These are making first grade so much smoother for my writing-phobic little boy. My sister came to visit for the holiday,a dn she is a first grade teacher. She fell in love with them, too. They are definitely the next big thing in pencil grips.

My little one has had a hard time with penmanship. She doesn't have disgraphia or any visual problems, but she has a difficult time with getting everything in the right place. About six months ago we started working with an Occupational Therapist and this writing claw is what she recommended. The OT said that with the claw, her fingers would be in the right spots and that over time the placement would become automatic. My daughter is making steady improvement with her penmanship and I love that tool is so easy to use! It slides right on the pencil and has three pockets for her fingers. She was concerned that kids might make fun of her for using it, but no one has even noticed. We did talk about it though and decided that the claw sorta looks like a flower so know we call it "flower fingers ". Now if anyone asks her about it, she can just play it off like it's a cutesy pencil grip! So far this has worked great!

My daughter who usually holds her pencil up top, is holding her pencil at the bottom with her 3 fingers, which she had trouble with holding with 3 fingers. Hopefully she will keep the habit on when I remove it.

Dopo un po' essendo di plastica si rompono sopratutto se vengono infilati e sfilati molte volte. Li consiglio assolutamente per correggere impugnatura non corretta dei bambini. Dopo qualche mese di utilizzo i bambini iniziano a impugnare correttamente senza più bisogno degli adattatori. Li consiglio assolutamente.

Son de plástico con el tamaño de cada dedito que tiene que ir en él. Les ayuda mucho a colocar bien los deditos para una buena escritura. Viene bien tener recambios porque están unidos por el mismo material pero algo más fino y,aunque son resistentes, los peques a veces son un poco brutos y los rompen, o del mismo uso de ponerlos y quitarlos. También puedes tener uno en cada lápiz que utilice el niño/a.
