Excellent value, and works!
We have had this oven/air fryer long enough now to have tried out several recipes all with the intention of reducing our electricity costs. In this respect it is very successful cooking appliance, but as with all things, it is "horses for courses". This device will cook a full meal for two from raw ingredients with no real problems. It must be noted, however, that our Tefal Actifry is possibly more convenient for cooking chips as it has a paddle to move them, whereas you have to open this fryer to move them around a bit, but that really is no biggie and chips still taste way better than deep-fried ones!. Sausages cooked fine, but the skins were not, perhaps, as crispy as might have been (maybe a bit more experimentation with temperature here?). Vegetables all cooked fine, potatoes in a Pyrex casserole dish with a small amount of water, and even peas and broccoli cooked well, but they had to be placed in a foil packet with a teaspoon or two of water to effectively place them in a mini steamer. We fried onions in the bottom of the bowl and that worked out so-so with them being dried out a bit. Fish fingers and burgers cooked fine and were very tasty, so overall a splendid buy for the money. One thing not mentioned in any of the documentation is the oil sprayer included in the package, other to say it can be used to spray oil (use a high-temperature oil such as avocado as the temperatures in the device can be up to 250deg C). One thing that is necessary to do is to mix the oil with water in the ratio of 1 part oil to 5 parts water, and this is not mentioned anywhere! Without the water you just get a jet of oil and not a spray. Be sure to thoroughly shake up the oil and water together to make an emulsion before spraying over the food, then it all works fine! The bottom line? Well it can cook a meal for up to two people and save money compared to using a conventional oven (it cooks much quicker and most foods are ready in about 20-30 mins) with the rising costs of fuel this is a major reason for getting one! You do not have to cook everything in the one appliance, and if you prefer to cook some foods on a griddle or in another appliance, that is fine, but for oven and hotplate cooked foods, it is a great saving on electricity, and even re-heating foods it is in many ways better than a microwave as items such as pizza are not reduced to a soggy mess.

Pleased with this
I bought this by accident. We've previously had one of these halogen ovens and I thought I was buying like for like. When our previous halogen oven broke we ventured into the territory of a combination microwave. Unfortunately it has never worked properly,so we have gone back to this. This says it's an air fryer too. Not convinced there is not much difference between this and previous halogen ovens. Nonetheless it cooks well. There are only two of us and this is much more compact and cheaper to run than a conventional electric oven. My husband who does the cooking loves it. I do think some of the suggested cooking times in the handbook are a bit optimistic, but YMMV. So would I replace it if it stopped working? Yes, this is beyond "nice to have" and is genuinely useful (especially as electricity is so expensive now for those of us without the option of gas).

Two years flawless service so far. Saves a fortune in electric.
Brilliant halogen air fryer, saves time and money, easy to use and clean, cooks very well, even larger pork shoulder joints and makes lovely crackling on them too. I only use my gas oven for roasting chicken now, this has replaced it. 2 years on and still going strong. It makes a bright light when the elements are heating and the fan noise is noticeable but not bad. Works efficiently and economically. Recommended.

Very cheap starter air fryer
This machine is quite big so can handle chickens and the like. I mainly use mine for frying frozen chips and baked potatoes. It will fry Tesco's cheap chips whereas my mini oven after an hour on maximum still made soggy chips. Of course it is quicker and cheaper to run so the mini oven has been put in the shed. Spectacular for sausages but takes longer than the guide. The evenness of the brown finish is unparalleled. When you bake fish in foil on the lower level and chips on the higher level, make sure the fish is defrosted as the chips will be ready in 20 minutes or so but the fish needs about 30 minutes from frozen. Overall, it's easy to use and great value for the money - goodbye mini ovens, your time is up! Functionally, it can be extended with the ring to take very large items. Easy to use, clockwork timer and temperature control.

Bulb failed after only 6 months of use
I've been using Halogen ovens for at least 12 years and I've used several different brands. I bought the Daewoo in June 2023 to replace my previous halogen oven, and I went with the Daewoo simply because it was cheap at around ยฃ35. If you're not familiar with halogen ovens, they are all very similar - they're essentially just a big heavy glass bowl with a lid containing a circular halogen bulb which heats up. The Daewoo version is described as a Halogen Air Fryer - it's basically no different from any other halogen oven, although it comes with 2 shallow wire baskets instead of the round baking trays that you usually get with other halogens. The thing to be aware of with halogen ovens is that the bulbs do not last. Manufacturers typically say that they should last about 2000 hours, but in my experience they last around 18 months, 2 years at a push. In theory, it's possible to replace the bulb. All I can say is good luck with that.... In practice, when the bulb fails you're looking at scrapping the oven. My Daewoo model lasted from June to December 2023 and then stopped working. It looks like the bulb failed. As I'd had it for less than 6 months I returned it to BestBuyUK in December. I heard nothing - not even a notification that they'd received it. I chased them up and they said they were looking into it. I have emailed them several times. I'm not impressed with either the Daewoo or the customer service from BestBuyUK.
