Very solid info
Jam packed with evidence-based information about plant based nutrition for athletic performance and general health. This book cuts through both the sometimes overblown hype in favor of, and the scaremongering against vegan and plant based diets. Solid recommendations for eating in way that will help your athletic pursuits, while being better for your overall health, and that of the animals and our planet.

Informative and perfect for CEC
I first bought a generic book on sports nutrition and was very disappointed on the emphasis of meat and dairy. I was recommended this book by a vegan friend. The information is up to date and very informative. The book emphasizes plant foods first then makes suggestions on when and how to supplement with non-plant based foods which I really appreciate. Thereโs also a coupon in the back for 1/2 off the Human Kinetics continuing education credit exam which is perfect because Iโm due to renew my health coaching certification!

Good read for anybody that is not knowledgeable in plant based eating, but does not go beyond the basics.

Really great, science backed, information!
I wish that every plant based / vegan athlete would read this book. It covers everything you need to know (and then some!) to ensure you're getting all of the essential nutrients to keep performing at a high level. I also really appreciate that they go into detail about how much males and females need, as males have different nutritional needs than females. I haven't seen many books do this and I am really glad they did.

FANTASTIC RESOURCE! Must buy.
Iโm a health and fitness professional and use this book as a resource for myself and my clients wanting to eat plant based ( or just more plants!) while maintaining fitness/performance goals. Complicated topics are broken down, all the major vitamins and minerals are discussed and thereโs even great recipes to try out! I also enjoyed the basic nutrition and exercise tables in the index. This books offers detailed scientific explanations on how to achieve high athletic performance on a plant based diet. The book addressed macros, vitamins, weight management, gaining muscle, meal plans, and much more! It even offers recipes for meals and snacks!

Good information for plant based or vegan athletes. Straight info without sensationalized claims. Page by page. Chapter by chapter. Taking it all in. The youth immersed in poison - turn the tide counterattack. A firestorm to purify the bane that society drowns in. No mercy, no.

Great book, lots of useful information. I have not read other related books yet, therefore, I am not sure about the certainty of the information presented, but, information has sources well defined for every study mentioned. As soon as I finished reading it, I'll verify everything mentioned in it.

Layman's terms, straight talking plant based nutrition
A must read for any athlete who eats a whole food plant based diet. There's a lot about vegetarian nutrition too, do be prepared to read that too. Written in layman's terms for anyone to understand. Straight talking no nonsense information

Not what I'd hoped for
This is a very comprehensive book, yet I found it to be overly technical and quite 'dry' to read and not really suitable for home cooking. I was specifically looking for plant-based recipe inspiration, yet it's suited more to those who would like a reference manual for specific nutritional information. I also found the title to be misleading... the content is more suited to vegetarians rather than vegans, as it includes dairy and eggs, so found this disappointing.
