ARB 170112 DIFFERENTIAL BREATHER KIT Vent the air pressure in drivetrain assemblies such as the differentials, transmission and transfer case.

ARB make some good stuff and this is no different. The 2 sheet metal screws are short so I chucked them and use stainless nylock and bolt. Much more secure. I put mine behind my passenger taillight as high as I could. Getting a drill in wasn’t easy but it worked. I took my time running the hoses to make sure they are hidden and away from damage. Happy the way it turned out but seeing how it actually works in mud and water will determine my over all satisfaction.

Easy install on a 5th generation 4runner. There is a 6mm threaded pitch hole on the passenger side of the engine compartment that works well for the bottom bolt of the manifold, then just use one of the self-tappers included to lock it into place. I went ahead and grabbed some t-barbs and waterproof tape to add a junction to the breather just above the rear differential so I could also extend the breather for the rear locker. https://amzn.to/408wvRq and https://amzn.to/3SXF25P Took me about 30 minutes total, easy mod that will set your mind at ease so you don't go polluting your gear oil or blow out your seals.

Had these professionally installed on 2010 Lexus GX460 for the front and rear differential. Really love the quality, durability and ease of installing under the hood. Went through mud and water a couple of times with no issues. The price was a little more then it should have been for some plastic tubing and breather. Curious to know if the transfer case and transmission have a breather also that I could tie into this set.

I have a 2024 Toyota land cruiser simple quick add to the rear and front diff breather. My front diff stock breather was already plugged with dust. Now they both vent on drivers side fire wall.

Did the update on 4runner rear differential. Did not use the self threaded bolts that come in the kit. Bought an M6 bolt and bolted the manifold to an existing threaded hole in the passenger side of the engjne bay, next to the air filter. Worked perfectly for my 2019 Toyota 4 Runner. The install was wuick and easy and the threads matched the ones on my rear differential. There was enough tube to do the rear diff and e-locker, though I had to buy an enlarging hose coupler to join the ARB tube to the OEM e-locker breather tube. No biggie as it was less than $2 for a pack at the local auto store. The block and filter were easily mounted near high on the side wall in the engine bay just behind the air box/intake. Maybe took 30 mins to install. Quick tip: start running the tubes from the engine bay, down, and back. Also, if you're doing elocker and diff, just fold the tube in half and run/secure it as one then just cut/separate it in the rear to give u the two connections. I thought about just running one tube to the filter then using a splitter/T-coupler in the rear, but I wasn't sure if that was a good idea. I guess running two lines will at least keep things separate.

After taking our 2021 4Runner out on a couple off-roading adventures, we realized that we needed to mod our truck to prevent any possible issues with water getting in our rear differential. This kit did the job! First with the positives. This kit has everything you need for modding your truck. I mounted the manifold in the engine and still had plenty of tubing left over. I'm also very happy with the quality of the manifold and tubing (though with a complaint, see below). The push-connect parts also made installation very easy while giving confidence that it won't pull out. I only have two complaints with this kit. First, some steps in the instructions weren't the easiest to understand, but there are plenty of YouTube videos to get around this. More concerning is that the sturdiness of the material causes the tubing to kink very easily due to the natural coil. If you don't straighten out the tubing before running it through your truck, DO NOT pull to uncoil the tubing. Take the extra time to carefully uncoil the tubing. I mistakenly pulled on the tubing too hard to straighten it out and it bent right in half. I was worried this kink would cause the tube to crack, but fortunately it did not. This is an awesome kit and I recommend this if you plan to do any water fording in your truck. It's an easy DIY, even if you're like me and do not have much experience working on cars.

If you go offroad and have to traverse water crossings, this is a must have. It allows re-routing the differential breather from the top of rear diff to anywhere in the engine bay. Comes with very long hose, so can fit truck of any size. This will save your rear diff by not allowing water to be sucked in if diff is hot and water is cold.

Very well made solid unit , peace of mind that won’t get in my transaxle or transmission now for river crossings
