2013 update: Some reviewers stated that this is made from "cheap plastic," but it doesn't look cheap, at all, on our sink. It works perfectly and looks exactly like our chocolate brown Blanco sink. It looks exactly as it looked when we installed it last March or April. It's very hard to see it, which is important because our kitchen is actually very close to our home's entrance and dining room, and is open. And it goes perfectly with our Mediterranean bronze Mico faucet. It's nearly invisible in the Blanco sink, though. All of our fixtures (mostly Cifial with 1 Moen handheld showerheads) go with it, as well. We held them all up to each other to see how everything blended together, and it all worked. The switch, after about 10 months of use, works easily with no sticking. While I have gotten a little water in it every so often (wet hands pushing the button) it didn't hurt it. I normally try to dry my hands though before using. No chips or any other sort of wear and tear look, to date. No shorting out or anything else. It works great. OLD: Our kitchen sink is highly visible from the dining room and located in an island. So we couldn't put the normal disposal switch in a wall, and really didn't want to. This thing is great. It matches the sink perfectly and works great. I do wonder if water will hurt it as it was put right in the sink lid and not on the counter beside the sink, but our plumber and electrician both told us it would be fine and that where it is, is the normal spot for it. We're extremely happy with it, though. It's also got a "cool" factor which is always fun!

I bought this for my new kitchen sink and it’s amazing will never be buying it again or from anywhere else. Very aesthetically pleasing and matches everything. It works great and have had not issues with it. Easy to install or so my husband said 😂

Cons - price - and price, this really should not be that expensive... or at least they should sell the buttons separately so you can pick other colors without having to pay extra for the "free one that comes in the kit". I have a spare brushed Nickle switch that will never get used now that I had to pay for... Pros - install is a joke... easier than swapping out a light bulb. - OEM fit for your insinkarator switch - delivered on time

I love this air switch for my garbage disposal. It was easy to install and works nicely. I did need a oil bronze color which required another purchase, but I’m happy with the results.

This is just a button made of plastic, and it does not appear bronze at all, just dark brown. In addition, the total price of this button plus the unit that goes with it is between sixty and eighty dollars, which is a complete ripoff. This is an example of InSinkErator saying to the buyer, "Oh, you have a nice big kitchen island of some sort where your main sink and disposal are, so it's probably granite or some other expensive solid material, therefore you must be able to pay through the nose for our overpriced crap." Consider the average wall switch which runs for seventy cents to about 3 dollars, or consider the cost of other types of common switches. All the entire assembly consists of (the button as well as the fifty to sixty dollar unit that goes under your sink) is an air controlled switched outlet with a plastic tube running to the button that goes on your countertop. I found a unit on eBay for 30 bucks. Still too expensive, but at least the button is a light bronze color and the top part that shows appears to be made out of metal.

This item is no compatible with my insinkerator. The button is useless as it is missing the screw threads needed to attach it firmly to the existing airswitch. I will be returning it.

Easy to swap for original chrome button

Not compatible with an insinkerator. Requesting a refund. This item doesn't fit in place of the insinkerator button. Shape is completely wrong. Very disappointed
