THE 100 SERIES: For decades, the 100+ series has been a favorite resource among teachers for daily review and reinforcement. Each title features in-depth practice activities for key subject area skills. It's the perfect skill-building resource at home or in school! WHY CARSON DELLOSA: As the market-leading provider of childrenโs supplemental educational products, weโve been bridging school and home with innovative solutions for teachers and families for more than 40 years. Review: I've used many grammar products- This one is great for a summer brush up & reinforcement of skills - I have homeschooled my children off and on for many years, so I have experience with different grammar programs. My 7th-grade son failed English at the public school this year, and they wanted him to go to summer school. I chose to use some of my old homeschooling language arts curriculum and supplemented this book for grammar. I need to get him ready for the very challenging magnet school he was accepted to and will attend in 9th grade. This workbook is the right length for summer learning. He needs to do about 3 pages a day for an 8-week break. I chose this workbook because it lightly covers the most pertinent grammar topics. We also supplement with dictation, which helps students learn through example. The book is broken up into bite-sized chunks. At first glance, I thought this would be too easy for him, but I believe in frequently revisiting topics in order to strengthen and expand on the subject matter. The work doesn't take long each day, and we reinforce with other products. We use Book Shark readers and read-alouds, and the Scholastic Vocabulary Packets (Greek and Latin Roots) workbook to round out his summer learning. Review: Great supplement to ELA - This is a great supplement to our ELA classroo m. It has a lot of great exercises in it. Great for individual and group work.

Great supplement
This is a great supplement to my homeschool curriculum I have designed. I am a former public middle school teacher who decided to teach my son at home for middle school, as he has some learning challenges. This offers me an organized way to develop my lessons and the worksheets allow me to have practice sheets for my child, instead of creating eveything myself.

Good practice. Less rigorous than some.
I bought this for practice to supplement our textbooks. I teach 7-8th grade. It has pretty good practice exercises but is definitely less rigorous than our textbook. It's great for first introducing a concept though.

Are useless with my high school equivalency students. It covers about everything they need to know about grammar . Then we can fine-tune the other things that they need to know

wonderful grammar book
My son is a six grade. His school does not teach a lot of grammar. This is a great book if you want your kids to learn gramma for middle schoolers.

This book is okay to use as a review. I tried to use if for my son in our home school, but it doesn't review enough for us. For the price you pay it isn't a bad deal. This could be good to use over the summer as a review.

This is an excellent resource for grammar review for middle school students and even for those beyond middle school. Each topic page has a small explanation paragraph and the rest of the page has exercises for practicing the topic.

I do really like using the 100+ Series Grammar books - just bought another for grades 5-6. Although it is an American book, and therefore has considerable American content, it also has a good proportion of Canadian content as well. The only downside would be that the spelling is American, so you need to correct to Canadian spelling. I do like the fact that the exercises are theme-based, so that in working through a page of 20 sentences focusing on a specific grammar lesson, the student actually learns about a specific subject, from science, geography, or history, etc. Also there are more examples and exercises on each grammar topic than in some of the other curriculum English workbooks. I would recommend this series for teachers and tutors.
