Super Wide Baby Gate and Play Yard

We got this to go around our wood stove, It’s perfect. It’s very sturdy, our son has tried to shake it around and it stays up and in place. Easy to use with the knobs that lock it in place too.

I absolutely love this product so far; it is so versatile! It is modular and easy to dissassemble/reassemble. I originally bought the Regalo pressure baby gates to fence my Basset hound pup in the kitchen while he was housetraining, and those worked well also, but the setup just wasn't working for him, as he had too much room to have accidents in. I decided to buy this and place it in an arc shape around the balcony pet door (Ideal Pet Products). The pictures I am posting are of this setup, where he has not only lots of room to move around in and luxury sleep quarters and access to food and water, but also free access to the balcony (which has the DoggieLawn/FreshPatch grass)... so I never have to worry about accidents when he is fenced in, or him having to hold it in too long. The housetraining is going great this week, and I can credit this gate for a lot of it! Before I bought this, he was in a temporary enclosure made by furniture penning him in, and he had no room to move and escaped, wreaking havoc in my apartment all day while I was away (and leaving me several gifts on the carpet!). This was an absolute lifesaver when it came. I took off 2 of the 2 foot long panels and use them outside as part of the enclosure around his grass, and the enclosure is still large enough for him to be comfortable. As others have mentioned, the gate panels themselves are sturdy metal, but the joints are plastic and can break if forced the wrong way. Does not bother me, given the price and the fact that I have a puppy, not a strong toddler or large dog. If you want a higher end comparable gate, there are others available on Amazon (try the North Gates superyard) for almost twice as much, which I've heard are more durable with metal joints, but for my purposes, this is a temporary setup. Your puppy or baby will not need this forever, hopefully, can you justify paying $100 more for it? It's up to you, if you have a strong animal/child you want to keep fenced in, but I don't need all that, and this is perfect for me. This has no pressure gate option, and I do not want to drill into the walls, so I just keep one end pinned down by furniture, and the other end connected by zip tie to the counterpart on the balcony, and I've had no escapes thus far. Puppy has not tried to knock down the gate, but even if he did, I don't have a German Shepherd, and I think it can handle his weight for now, even "partially free standing", as it is now. I use the Cloud Baby Monitor app (iPhone download) to monitor him while I am at work, and he is great, very quiet, seems content in his new home (the last is a screenshot picture from my phone on this monitor). This setup has basically saved me so many headaches from keeping a housetraining puppy while working full time.... highly recommend it to anyone. When he gets bigger, the modular nature of the panels will allow me to enlarge his area, maybe enclose off the entire dining room area, when I use it as a straight gate, instead of an arc. BTW, I was NOT offered a free or reduced price on this product, so you know my review is ACTUALLY unbiased.

I purchased this to contain my small dog when I need to leave him unsupervised in another room for a little bit. My dog is an escape artist and super jumper (small terrier mix). It kept my dog contained and gave him enough space to run around and play in. He was not able to figure out how to open the latch, and the gate was too tall for him to jump out of. The vertical bars also prevented my dog from being able to climb up and over the gate. This worked perfectly for my situation. The gate itself was very sturdy, looked sleek and blended in well in my home. It was a simple setup (I had it in a round formation) and the latch was quick and to use. A safe, durable option for babies and pets.

We have a dog who might be the most well trained, well behaved, obedient dog ON THE PLANET - - UNTIL the UPS/Amazon truck goes by (or--GOD HELP US!--pulls into our driveway.) Then, all bets are OFF. No treat, no command, no power on earth will prevent him from going full on CUJO--raised hackles, deafening barking, slavering mouth. And it was a performance that would invariably take place on my brand new, long awaited (we're talking DECADES here, people) and pretty GD expensive leather couch. Or, when he couldn't get to that (we tried a LOT of strategies for keeping him off. Only the ridiculousness in the last photo did the trick) he'd have his scratching paws on my side table. Once, he actually jumped like a deranged billy goat right up onto my coffee table! Things had become desperate. Not to mention downright unattractive. I needed a gate. A nice-looking one. A BIG one. After doing A LOT of research for a gate that would fit my requirements: unobtrusive/attractive, black or dark brown--NOT white, able to be folded up and tucked away easily, STURDY, lightweight, and most importantly, big enough and able to be contorted into the shape I was imagining. All WITHOUT a break the bank price tag. I looked at many MANY gates. Mostly made of "wood". I use quotes because I would always find reviews with pictures that showed a gate that after being knocked over once was cracked (pressboard will do that!) and either ruined or requiring an ugly patch job. Most didn't have hinges that would swing in either direction (or that locked into place.) NONE allowed you to remove panels and NONE allowed you to either mount it in an opening or connect the ends forming a pen, as well as have it stand up on its own. And anything even 2/3 the size of this gate was in the $130 range. WAY to much money for CRAP. This gate is (almost!) PERFECTION! It ticks off all my boxes, does all of the above, looks WAY better than even the nicest "wood" gates I looked at, AND was under $100! My "almost" - - and my only reason for not giving it an enthusiastic 5 stars - - is that, as you can see in my pics, two of the spindles arrived bent. To be fair, this is possibly - - even likely - - something that happened in transit. And while I'm considering returning for a replacement I could easily see myself just keeping it, as the slightly bent spindles are largely unnoticeable, have zero impact on its function and - - miracle of miracles! - - pooch is no longer able to get to my couch! Equally as thrilling, I am able to SEE my new couch, and no longer have a living room that looks like a NYC building construction site (all the cardboard had needed was some graffiti and some posters/signs to complete the look... 😒) Buy this gate. You won't regret it (and YOUR spindles will most likely be straight. 👍🏻)

We have only had this "play yard"/fence for a week or so and haven't had any issues. My wife and I were both pleasantly surprised by the quality and build of this fence. It has far more heft and durability than I was expecting, even based on reviews. So much that I wouldn't really consider it "portable." But I'm not considering that a negative for our needs. If you needed to take it some where or move it, you could do so without issue. I'd say it weighs about 25-30 lbs. Even an adult would be hard-pressed to break one of the vertical metal rods off. The plastic "locks" on the other hand would be pretty easy to break (as an adult). They do, however, stay in place when tightened adequately, our 1yo certainly can't shift how we have it set up. We are using this to divide a larger room into a play area (75%) and an office space (25%), and it works perfectly. This play-yard is exactly what we were looking for (in fact, it was really the only thing I could find that fit the bill). I really didn't want to build something out of PVC, or spend several hundred dollars on a solution. We have not fastened it to the studs in the wall, and honestly, I don't feel it is necessary at the moment. Perhaps when #2 arrives in a month that will change. Rather than removing the 4 extra panels, I have them folded up on the ends so that they act as weights, and it works very well. We have it curved in a wide U shape, stability has not been an issue at all. Note that we have cats jumping over it and our 1yo holding onto it and walking along it. Nothing has made me question our current setup or the strength and stability of the fence. Our 1yo very quickly figured out how to lift the gate latch, but couldn't pull the gate towards her at the same time. Thankfully it has the latch lock mechanism on it as well. The latch and lock are easy to open with one hand, which is great for many reasons. The height of the fence is perfect. The cats can jump over it if they really feel the need, and it's several inches taller than our 1yo. I'm 5'8" and definitely couldn't step over this thing easily or comfortably. As of now that's all I can think to write about this fence. I will update my review in time as necessary in regards to the durability and use, though I don't foresee any problems.

It's perfect! Exactly what we needed!! I have an oddly shaped corner in our family room that is perfect for baby to be in but I wanted to contain him to that area. I have some glass doors that are pretty close and I wanted to make sure that he couldn't get too close to them and bang on them, but we would still be able to get in to the closet. The way you're able to adjust and manipulate the shape of this gate is awesome! Very easy to put together, set up and secure. The door is easy enough to open one-handed but but tricky enough that baby boy can't open it, just yet. The door swings open all the way in both directions but has the capability of only opening in One direction which is really nice. And you get to pick which direction. There's tabs on the bottom that if you put one down it won't swing all the way open. It's the perfect height and once all the hinges are locked down it's very sturdy. Probably one of my best purchases from Amazon!

Extremely well built and delivered almost completely assembled. A little bit of loosening parts and tightening them back up to get it into the desired shape but that was it. I had purchased another variety of pen for my eight week old puppy, but it had multiple horizontal bars going around the perimeter which the Puppy could easily put his feet on and jump over the top. He was literally out of the pen within minutes of bringing him home. Once he figured it out, it took him seconds to climb out of the pen every time I put him in. This thing works fantastic because he can’t get a toe-hold anywhere to climb over the top. I looked all over Amazon to find something like this and almost everything offered has those horizontal bars. This thing is great!

I hardly ever write reviews, so something has to go really great or really bad for me to give my input online. So I moved into a new house with my aging father recently and brought my 5 chihuahuas and I didn't want them roaming the whole house, so I needed a long gate to keep them contained to one half of my office for the most part. I thought this gate would work and went over the measurements and thought everything would fit. It arrived on time and, upon first seeing it in person, I started to become worried that my smallest dog, weighing in at 3.2lbs, could maybe squeeze through. I held her and tried to gently see if she could pass through and I didn't think that she could. When we got into the new house, I opened the box back up and setup was fairly easy and I was confident that this would work. It fit very nicely in the space I had measured out. I put all 5 dogs in, and yes, the smallest one came straight through. Now, by the time I moved into the new house, the return window had passed and even if it hadn't, I didn't want to have to box it back up and ship it back out. So, I decided to try and make modifications to keep my smallest in. I got mesh netting and zip tied it all the way across. This did work... until they chewed through it. By this time, one of my larger dogs, 9lbs, found she was able to squeeze through as well (How? I don't know but she managed somehow). So I figured the fabric mesh wasn't strong enough, so I thought maybe chicken wire but i didn't want sharp edges for my dogs and nieces to cut themselves on, so I got a thick plastic mesh and tried that. Again, they chewed straight through it (They may be small, but they are power chewers). While searching for an alternative, I barricaded the gate with boxes to try and keep them in. They still found ways out by pushing the boxes or jumping onto the boxes. I stacked the boxes higher and one was still managing to get out. Around this time they were trying harder and harder every day to get out, so much so that, with the short screws this gate comes with to mount it to the wall, they were able to pull it out of the wall while it was screwed into the stud. Also, the poles that connect the panels, they are very flimsy and fall down even when screwed in properly upon setup. I would regularly come home and find the connector poles completely unattached and on the floor. My dogs are all chihuahuas and under 15lbs. If they can knock the connecting poles down and pull the connection from the wall, I wouldn't just not trust it around small dogs, but larger dogs or children of any age either. A large dog or child would have NO problem messing and pushing on it enough for the gate to crumble. As if this wasn't enough, the gate locks at the top and has little pegs that swivel out at the bottom to "lock" it in place. I HATE having to bend over and swivel that piece up and down just to open or close the gate. Save yourself the stress and get the pet gates from FXW here on Amazon. MUCH better quality, easier setup, much more sturdy, the locking mechanism is easy but firmly locks the door, top and bottom, and the connections between panels are very strong. Best thing, not one of my dogs has ever gotten out of it, not even the smallest.

Pero si la vas a instalar en exterior como nosotros, considera comprar taquetes para anclarla a los muros. Considero que es resistente y una buena opción para mantener a las mascotas en un área.

Bought for containing a puppy not a baby - brilliant product and could not have survived without it. Would buy again but hopefully I won't need to!
