Perfect Projector
The Viewsonic M1+ is great product. The speaker is really good for a mid size room. Volume goes all the way to 20 but i find it quite sufficient when used on 4 - 7 volume. The remote control feature for turning on and off is amazing so no need to physically turn it on or off. The Eye protection is a really great feature. I like the Full, Eco and also the Battery Saver mode to conserve power. i use it at night on battery saver and the screen is still bright enough. You can connect to your WiFi network but I don't since I dont use the Aptoide app as its practically useless. All the apps crashes. I use this to connect to my Mi Box S and this give me 720 p or upto 1080 p as well . I hooked uo mine to a mini tripod stand and it holds well. You could use this during the day but you would have to use the full Power mode and not Eco but best enjoyed in the evening for a movie or so. I also use a Bluetooth earbuds as well since the mi box has that feature . Do note the M1+ doesn't have this function but u can use it as a Bluetooth speaker by itself and its quite good and clear. It does support 3D movie but i haven't figured out which 3D glasses is best suited for this as there are different types. viewsonic has a 2 year warranty incase if any issues. Overall Great Product.

Great value projector.
I initially purchased this projector for showing educational films and power point type presentations at university. I chose it for the compact size, the name I knew (it wasn't some strange unknown Chinese brand), the audio features, overall brightness and the connectivity options. It also had some good reviews. When I first received it and set it up, I quickly realized that the resolution was too low for doing presentations. At 60" the text is legible but blocky, and photos and other graphics are similarly unsophisticated. Considering that I had bought it for this purpose, my first instinct was to send it back, but I kept hold of it for a few days to look into other uses. We started to use it to watch tv and movies and found it was actually very watchable. With video the low resolution isn't so noticeable, I guess because it's a moving picture. The colours are bright and vivid, and the high contrast ratio makes even dark scenes fairly distinct. It works best in total darkness, but is also good in low light situations, not much use in a day-lit room. We now use it as a second TV in the bedroom, and during this lockdown period it's getting a lot of use! For portable use the onboard Harmon-Cardon system is loud enough, and reasonable quality, like a $30 blue tooth speaker. The stand is useable as long as you're careful not to knock it off something, or trip over the power cable and bring it crashing to the ground, which I have done already (still worked afterwards). At home I use a photography tripod for stability, and play the audio through my amp. The amount of input options is great, and I especially like the micro sd and USB readers. I load them up with content and then it just plays out of the unit, recognizing most formats. My macbook pro and android phone can both wirelessly connect to 'cast' content, but make sure you have a good wireless router, mine is ancient and can't really keep up. I've not managed to use the usb C port as I don't have a compatible device, and the HDMI connecter works as you'd expect for connecting laptop etc. I'm sure there are other ways to connect that I haven't discovered yet. The unit connects to the Wifi network easily and can run apps, which I haven't really bothered with. Remote works well by just pointing at the screen, or the front of the unit. The main negative point for me is the focus wheel, it's very sensitive, fiddly and really difficult to get the focus bang on. My unit also slightly loses focus over time, so during an ad break you have to fiddle with it. Also when you power on the unit the focus needs readjusting even though the projector and screen are in the same position. This is something Viewsonic need to sort out for the next gen. Overall: Seems well built and is so far stable and reliable, it's great fun for portable cinema/TV use and is small enough to throw in a bag for travel. Also good for light home use. The resolution of 480p leaves a bit to be desired, but for the price this is basically what you get. Pay more if you want 720 or 1080p sharpness. I kept the projector and use it everyday, actually grown quite fond of it. Tip: First thing to do is upgrade the firmware to latest version.

This product is so good, I bought it twice
This product is so good, I bought it twice. I broke my first one through stupidity and negligence, note to all purchasers, don't place it anywhere that it may fall several metres onto gravel. My second one has been just as good as the first and it hasn't fallen off my window sill (yet). I've seen a lot of other reviews complaining about the inbuilt software, screencasting and Bluetooth issues. I can assure you these reviewers are just not trying hard enough to solve their own problems. Get yourself a Firestick or just get a HDMI cable and plug the projector in to your laptop/phone/Switch/anything else portable. It's a display device, not a computer. You can't expect this thing to browse the web, pull up applications, download and update softwares. It DOES all those things, but not very well. Plug in a device that can do those things PROPERLY and you'll find yourself enjoying your purchase a lot more. I project mine onto my bedroom ceiling and I lie in bed playing games and watching movies. In the past I've taken it camping and done a similar thing on the ceiling of my tent. A power bank with the right adapter solves the problem of tents not having plug sockets in them. A full battery will last 8+ hours on Eco mode, and about 5 on full brightness mode. That's plenty of time for a couple of movies if traveling with it. The screencasting is so unbelievably easy, it's a 3 step job and it tells you how to do it on the display. I've only ever run into problems when my internet is bad and that's not the projector's fault. There can sometimes be a bit of audio lag when screencasting but it's never more than a 1 second delay. I have a high end PC with a 4k monitor and yet I still spend more time watching/playing on my projector because of the comfort and portability. It is easily my favourite piece of technology I own. With a couple of other cheap purchases, you can maximize the potential of this product fully but even without those purchases, it is a great product if you are persistent enough to navigate the inbuilt software. And let's be honest, if you're in the market for a portable projector, a tricky UI is probably the only inconvenience you'll face all week

Not worth the money
Sent it back after a day. Nice idea but hardly any features work. 1) films from memory stick only work off small memory sticks. Would not play from my hard drive or 128gb memory stick. 2) pretty much no apps would screen mirror. I tried amazon, Netflix, sky go and Apple TV. 3) has built in APP store. Where you won’t find any apps like Netflix etc so you will still need a fire stick or laptop. 4) not really in clear in the description is you need a laptop sized power supply to charge it. I had assumed it was charged by usb C. You don’t get a case that carry’s everything. So the total size of this with the power supply is the same as a normal mini projector as I hardly see any times when I would not need to take it with you. 5)turning up the brightness seems to do nothing. 6) every time you turn it of it defaults back to eco mode when powered back on. So summary for the negative points is you pay a lot extra for features which don’t really work. The picture quality is ok for its size. Does feel well build and the speakers are excellent. But it’s not worth the price tag. £150 and I might have kept it.

One of the best Portable Projectors
I bought the ViewSonic M1+ Projector 12 months ago and I am very pleased that I did. For all the features it provides, it is certainly great value for money. It is portable, weighing 700g and measuring 5.9 x 4.9 x 1.5 inches. It has a stylish design that is also practical. Its metal stand doubles as a lens cover. When the lens is uncovered, the projector is instantly switched on. All the ports are easily accessible. This short-throw projector provides up to 1080p resolution, but with ViewSonic’s Cinema SuperColor+ technology, the picture quality is enhanced to produce realistic colours. For such a small device, it can project images onto screen sizes 60, 80, and 100 inches! I found the built-in battery to be a bonus as most projectors do not have one. As it can run up to 6 hours on a full charge, it is ideal for outdoor use. The projector’s interface is very user-friendly; it has an Auto Keystone feature that corrects distorted images. This device has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. I can connect my Amazon Fire TV Stick, Blu-ray Player, and external hard drive to the device. I have also used it to stream videos from my phone and tablet. The Remote Control is well-designed, sturdy and practical. The Harman Kardon dual speakers are simply awesome! The cinema-sound experience is so satisfying that I never need to connect my Dolby Atmos sound system! There is a Movie mode, Music mode, and User mode for customising sound to my own preference. The projector can also be used as a Bluetooth Speaker in which to play music from other devices! To add to its many advantages, the projector has up to 30,000 hours of light source life.

. . . meh . .
Nice design Cool sound Decent picture (pixelated in static scenes) Auto keystone is pretty sleek Colours are a bit cold Bluetooth speaker can only activated through the projector menu. You can't just push a button and turn on the bluetooth. Looses focus more often than not so it needs to be readjusted every now and again (focus wheel is electronic not mechanic, I'd switch off the machine then switch back on again to find the image out of focus although I didn't touch the projector) hidden ports mean that if you use external source the flippy lid is in the way all the time. Memory card difficult to reach in order to remove. Prone to toppling over. The kickstand is a nice touch but the base is just too narrow for it to be stable. I dropped mine twice on the floor. Compatible with most video formats but some mp4's just it just didn't like playing. Had to re-encode them. Overall a nice and cool looking device but there is a lot to be desired. I've posted a product feedback on youtube if you want to watch it, just look for my account name on youtube and you'll find it there.

Good projector, poor build quality.
Does exactly what it says on the tin but only lasted about a year. DIdnt even use it much, first the battery stopped working, then the USB slot then the remote, then stopped powering on altogether. Pros - good picture quality, easy to use with HDMI connection Cons - very poor build quality, poor audio/quiet, needs an external speaker. Take a risk purchasing this, you may get one that's fault resistant but I doubt it.

If you keep everything in context this thing is king of the portables
This is dictated excuse typos, it’s important to keep everything in context here, this thing cost 300 quid and that’s cheap for what it does, it can do airplay from Apple, it’s got Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in, the speakers are Stella, the battery life is great, in a dark room or outside the picture is more than acceptable but not full HD, The android system isn’t the best but given you can airplay from your device or put an ST card in it or connect via HDMI, are you getting the point? It’s so specced up for the price it’s stupid. They will no doubt be new products that will be better than this in time but right now for the reasons I’ve listed this is king, I can go in the garden and put the boxing on 100 and scream zero wires good sound good picture happy family, my daughter froze how movies on to my bedroom wall and then put it away when she’s finished with it, she takes it to grandmas and plays movies no wires no need for Internet, come on for £300 really! It even connects to my daughters Nintendo switch by USBC , I don’t know another device that does that and get this it even charges it. We have laid in bed and projected 75 inch picture on the ceiling even though there is a 50 inch TV in the room just because it’s fun. I think I’ll summarise and say this is not a replacement for a full-time TV, but it will bring hours of fun for kids make sporting events joy and I even use it for work, time will tell how long that will last but ViewSonic are no mugs and I don’t think they’ll let me down

Great product for camping
I use this both in and outside of my campervan. Inside, I use a simple blinder as screen, and outside I simply use the van as it's white. Perfect companion for my weekend trips.

Thanks Viewsonic for a cheap 3d projector
For the money, this is a really feature-packed projector. I was looking for a projector that has 3d support. Most of the cheaper projectors, the "bluetooth" ones don't support it. I couldn't understand why they had every other feature, but didn't add 3d in. However, this Viewsonic projector does support 3d and it looks really great. As far as the usual projector stuff, this projector has decent brightness -- it looks ok even in a room that isn't pitch dark (we had a few lamps on). It looks nice in a dark room. If you're looking for a super bright picture in a bright room, you might want to consider a larger, more expensive projector. As far as 3d, to produce a 3d image you need three things. A projector (like this one) that supports 3d and projects the 3d image, you need a player that can play 3d disks (I bought an LG Bluray player that plays 3d disks) and you need 3d glasses. For glasses, I've seen a few people say you need to buy the Viewsonic PG-something glasses. Well, those glasses don't appear to be made anymore. However, don't worry, you just need to buy any regular old active shutter glasses that are for DLP projectors. Buy one of the brands that say they support all kinds of DLP projectors--this Viewsonic won't be in their supported list, but they will work with this projector. I had a little difficulty with the glasses, probably because I was turning them on incorrectly. But, if you mess with them, you'll get it. Also, another nice thing about this little projector is the sound. Wow! Its very impressive for such a little box. Its good enough to use to watch a movie, unless you're really after that thunderous sound of a movie theater, then you could explore the bluetooth option and connect a bluetooth speaker to this projector. There's a few things I don't like. First, if you use the built in arm as a base, on mine at least, the display is crooked. Also, the projector is so light that the HDMI cable will move it. So, to get the projector properly placed, you need to mess with the HDMI cable or even tape the cable down to the table where your projector is. I mostly solved the problem by attaching a tripod to the projector -- your tripod will just screw into the bottom of the projector. A pretty cool feature. It does have the ability to play movies from micro SD cards and external hard drives. I haven't messed with any of those. Its also connects to WiFi--that went very smoothly for me. That's nice in case there are any firmware updates, you can get them instantly over WiFi. So, overall, this is a really great budget projector with alot of features. One of its biggest strengths is that it supports 3d--very, very rare in this price range.

Almost perfect. No wireless-display!
I bought this for my business. Many things I didn't like about it but I kept it anyway. Pros: Nicely built and looks premium. Love the built-in stand that can be used to cover the lens. It has a sensor that turns the projector to safe mode whenever you are directly in front of it so it protect your eyes. The speakers are amazing. Projector picture is crisp and sharp. Excellent for presentations, videos, and movies. Cons: For some reason, and due to patent issues, it DOES NOT have any wireless sharing feature. No wireless-display, Bluetooth (it has Bluetooth but only for audio not video), or any way to connect your phone or laptop to it. I had to buy MiraScreen B4 Wireless TV, to turn this UNSMART projector to be smart, and it worked fine. Conclusion: Because of its great features, I decided to keep it. But I would recommend others to find another one that has wireless-display built in instead of buying. If you are after the quality of this projector then buy it.
