I bought this tailgate striker to replace my old and worn out ones on my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I have having issues with the tailgate staying closed and after doing some research, I checked this very same part on my truck and noticed it was almost completely worn out. The installation/replacement was extremely simple. Be advised you still need to remove the tail light in order to get to a washer that is on the inside, otherwise you’ll be spinning that bolt forever and it will never come out. Overall, I am very satisfied and glad I was able to find it on Amazon at a reasonable price over my local auto parts store.

My truck panel was replaced due to an accident. Maybe that’s why there was no threaded nut to screw into. The body shop neglected to install a post so I bought this and added a nut and washer to complete the install. Appears to be quality made and works just fine.

Perfect fit on my1997 Ford F250 heavy duty.

Easy install although the rubber around the striker seems mor like a plastic sheeth unlike the oem one that had a thick rubber around it the plastic one bent immediately on the first close of the tailgate but also seems like the area where the rubber is the metal is a little thicker there unlike the oem one which is one size under the rubber

I have a 2007 Sierra 3500HD... Great truck. A lot of "play" in the tailgate when it was secured. I replaced the striker bolts on both sides, now the tailgate closes snug... no more rattling. I wish I would have done this sooner.
